  1. Started by Connorbear,

The crowd unloaded on Tommie Harris when he walked off the field. What a douche bag. He will be suspended by the league and, if I was coach, he would be done on this team. Then at halftime, they unloaded again. What a horrible, pathetic display of football. Peace

Here are our rosters mine is on top highlighted in light blue He proposed a trade involving me sending him Ryan Mathews for Finley. IMO this weakens my RB's for a potential marginal upgrade at TE. While I don't mind dealing Matthews, it would leave me with 1 starting RB (and a temporary one at that) in Williams outside Forte and Lynch. I'm considering countering by including him giving me McFadden and I add someone like DeSean Jackson. Question is would you do it as is, counter with something similar to what I was thinking, or decline and shop elsewhere? I'd really like to have a third solid RB that could be a good RB2/flex. Though Trading Mathews…

  4. The Ravens have called the league to appeal, saying a deal was done and JA just didn't call it in. It's easy to say no harm no foul, but if it was us and we had a deal to get an extra 4th that another team failed to call in, I'd be mad. It'll be interesting to see if the league does anything about it. After further review, I don't see how this is different than what the Ravens did the Vikings in 2003. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/...kings_draft_ap/

Or should the Bears hold a press conference where numerous coaches, players, and analysts point out horrible he is BEFORE cutting him.

Travis Jackson/QB was released, should we be interested? I think he also would become our top backup if we picked him up. Also Vonte Leach is said to be going to be released today. The top rated blocking FB in the league last year.

Really don't much about him except he picks off Cutler all the time. Is he an idiot on the field? He's only 26 and instant upgrade over our turds

  9. Up until now, most all the talk has been surrounding the top 4 OTs in the draft. Britton seemed like an after-thought. But his stock seems to be on the rise, and I am not sure how much, if at all, he would be considered a reach at 18 now. Assuming the top 4 are gone, should Britton be a consideration? Reading up on Britton was pretty interesting. As I can tell, there are two key knocks on him. (a) He comes from a spread offense, but I would argue that more and more teams are using this, and you can not dismiss players from the spread offenses. They may require more evaluation, but w/ so many colleges using spread systems, you have to still look at them. …

It seems like everyone is waiting for Holt to be released, which is most likely to happen soon. As I understand it, he is due to receive about $1.5m in bonus money on 3/17, and Stl is expected to cut him prior to that, but should we wait? The top reason he has not drawn trade intest is his contract. I think his 2009 base salary is in the neighborhood of $6.5m, and when you add the bonus, his salary/cap hit for 2009 is quite high. This has prevented teams for looking to trade for him, even though Stl is reportely only looking for a mid/late day two pick in return. But I am reading about more and more teams who are interested in him, and will likely make a ru…

I've been thinking about all the recent chatter about if the board could be smarter than a GM (or let's say as smart as). Now there are far too many aspects of a GM's job for us to sit here and say we got it...from FA, to staffing levels, scouting, knowing the inside details of player's behavior, details on injuries, etc. However we can approximate the one area of most interest these days...the draft. This is some long term thinking here for those who have been with this board for several years. I believe we can build our own draft and save it for future evaluation. After the draft the board is usually quiet. This off-season I propose we take on the challeng…

When this comes out it's not a good sign. http://chicago.suntimes.com/sports/loud-cl...ry-sours-bears/ What do we do with Fuller this offseason? We need CBs so I'm not willing to just cut him loose. He has a career and another contract to work for so I'd certainly put him in the mix next year. Between now and then I'd definitely float his name out there to other teams this offseason.

That got your attention! But in fact, I'm not here to defend Grossman, even with his lack of reps and playing a great D we should expect well more from him than we got. He sucked today. But that topic is pretty cut and dry so why bother. What I instead want to bring up is our WR's continually not adjusting. Possibly the worst case was the Devin Hester bomb, beat his man, turned around to look for the ball, and promptly slowed down to 80% speed while watching Rex's ball land where he should have been. Man, if your name is Devin "freaking" Hester, slowing down on a post route cut is absolutely inexcusable. Even with Rex stinking it up, that one silly play would…

Now that's 2007 is over and 2008 is here what do we do as far as our team goes on offense? Well I know what I would do if I was in charge. Starting with FA I would make a big push to upgrade the Oline. I would move Tait back to RT and try to land either Locklear from the Seahawks or Starks from the Steelers saying goodbye to Miller & Metcalf. At Guard we need to get Faneca and get rid of Garza Brown is old too. Draft a guard to fight it out with Beekman and maybe we could Draft either Otah from Pitt,Clady from Bosie State or Baker from USC and try them at guard. Now in the backfeild we need to get a guy who can run because Benson is just slow to the outside. Turner w…

  20. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writ...ent-team/1.html Inside linebacker Brian Urlacher, Bears -- His reputation says he's one of the most dominating defensive players in the game. But reality says Urlacher just had a season in which he made almost no big plays for a Bears defense that has slid a long way from its 2006 hey day. Urlacher had no sacks, no forced fumbles and just two interceptions this season. That's almost hard to do when you start and play all 16 games in the middle of a defense.
