Well, it looks we will try out another kicker in the preseason. What a name for a kicker! Bears add a new name to kicker competition — and it's an interesting one

I went back and watched every game on a condensed version since my NFL pass is still into effect. A few observations: We easily could have won more games. Cohen sure does stick out with his limited play set. There were very few plays where Howard made players miss, most were big holes for him. ( he did run over many) Hicks and Mack are total beasts. It seems like this organization has had a player development deficit for quite some time. When has a player come into the organization and played better on the Bears than on a previous team (Akiem Hicks?). Of the recent acquisitions, the only player not to play worse on defense has been Billings. Edmunds, Edwards, Walker, Green, and Jones all seem worse this year. Tonyan has been bad, Davis with the obvious personal issues, but even Patrick has disappointed. Where is Everyone who loved the Loveland pick? Where is the 12 personnel? Is it even being run? When it IS being run, is it even successful? When it IS being run, what’s the percentage of time the first round TE is blocking? Horrible pick at an unnecessary position. I know it’s early, but what a waste. He is underutilized, and so is the other good TE on the team.

Ugh, I felt like Horsted had a lot of potential but wasn't given a fair shot. He always flashed when he got on the field. He ends his Bears career with more TDs than Kmet. It looks like Horsted failed his physical, that's interesting. I didn't know he was hurt. Rysen John was on the Giants and has never played in an NFL game yet, he is 24.

Jay Cutler: The Antihero who looks a lot like a hero Seems like the deadspin guys like cutler. Or at least one of them.

We need to add a speed element to our offense. DAT can fill that void both as a slot type WR and RB and can also replace Hester as our KR/PR. He's small so he's not going to handle many plays but our offense is set for the most part so having him out there for 5-10 plays a game is fine. He is projected to be drafted anywhere from 3rd Rd to as late as the 7th Rd. Durability concerns will likely push him back towards the third day of the draft although an outstanding forty time might move him up higher. I think his skill set is more versatile than Hester's as a WR and he can run with good vision between the tackles, enough that the occasional play inside will keep the …

He was the biggest story during the preseason, and is almost the forgotten defender 6 games in. He is 2nd on the team in tackles, but I haven't seen him put a complete, dominant game together yet. He was supposed to be the ball hawk tackling machine, yet there have only been a couple of standout plays to date. What do you think the issue is? Lack of reps in preseason, Fangio?

I have to give Pace credit for his aggressiveness as a GM.He has traded in every draft he has had. He has made many mistakes but for us to come to the point of having probably the best young roster in the game, he had to have a helluva lot of hits. He signed Parkey last year to a big contract as Parkey was the 3rd best K in the league in 2017. He thought he had his man, he was wrong. Today he goes after a backup that has NFL experience for little of nothing, a 7th round 2021 pick. He brought in a kicking guru, Kohl and ends up signing two of his clients. Blewitt and now Pineiro. Start with the Oline, Carmi remains an injury problem, Webb doesnt take a step forward. Forte holds out until the season starts and starts slow. Cutler, because of the Oline, doesnt get time to take advantage of the WRs he was given. Marshall ends up being suspended for 4 games. We still dont have a pass rush. The DBs suffer because of no pass rush. Urlacher has nagging injuries that keeps him out of games. With all negitive things (and all wont occure) we finish 7-9, 8-8 and Lovie keeps his job for one more year.

He's practicing again per Brad Biggs and could be activated in the next couple of weeks. Peace
