Bears sign Tommie Harris to four-year extension June 19, 2008 Recommend (3) BY BRAD BIGGS Staff Reporter Tommie Harris‚ the Bears' three-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle, agreed to a four-year contract extension Thursday night, meaning he will remain in place through 2012. Agent Drew Rosenhaus hammered out the deal in person at Halas Hall, his fourth trip to town in two months to try to secure a long-term contract. Harris had been hoping for a four-year deal, but the extension means he will be 30 when he's ready to hit the free-agent market again. He faced the likelihood of being franchise tagged after this season if a contract was not worked out

Will Tommie H. play tonight,or is he out because of what he did? If he is playing i wonder if he will go out with something to prove. I HOPE he comes out with some fire,it might just happen. With everybody seeing what he did on tv and his decline in play and many wanting to get rid of him,he might play his ass off. Plus what Vernon Davis said. It will be interesting.

How bad are they? If he requires surgery, can he please have it NOW and be at 100% next season. As he did have flashes of brilliance and he does play hard, the only reason for his downturn in numbers and performance must be the injury. I hope our staff is smart enough to sit Tommie for another week or two. When feeling good, he is a beast. Idonije outplayed what Harris has done lately. Lovie, sit Tommie! It's looking like we can make a playoff push and a healthy Tommie Harris will go a long long way. We have enough average guys to fill his shoes right now, we don't need Tommie average.

After Wilson and Wagner deals, Seattle has to clear some cap space. McDaniel will probably sign with a 4-3 team, but he would be a decent pickup to fill the hole made by McDonald (and only a few letters to change on uniform). Could he work as a DE in a 3-4? I was thinking about draft order for the upcoming draft and realized we will end up in the dead zone again (14-20) unless we have a complete turnaround and run the table.
