Potentially the last pick for the Bears in this draft. Will be an upgrade over Gill but seems like a luxury pick when you had your choice of Edge or Center.

1. The Bears D has looked good for the most part except on passing downs, Thier not getting to the QB is really killing the game. 2. Grossman is not the QB and today proves it. It almost looks like thier is no game plan. His inability to adjust is proven once again and not adjusting the plays like Orton does has hand cuffed this team. I dont see us going any further in this game. Now pass rush like a mo fo and maybe we can get back into it.

I'm not sure you could put together numbers in a more meaningless way than Total QBR. Rodgers threw for 77 yards with an average of 3.5/catch, an incredible 10pts on offense, and he's ranked 11th in Total QBR. That is above players like Brady who's team put up 36pts in a win over Miami while throwing for 356yds, 9.4/catch. http://espn.go.com/nfl/qbr/_/type/player-week

We were talking about Jared Goff, which led me to Cooper Kupp. I don't think people talk enough about his 2021 season (or the fact that he has lived off of it ever since). He had 145 receptions, 1947 yards, and 16 TDs that year. That was basically 1000 yards more than his previous season where he had 974 yards. That one season is such an outlier, it is crazy. He has only had one other season over 1000 yards. He is also already 30 yrs old. So in 7 years, he has made one All-Pro Team and Pro Bowl, in 2021, that's it. 2021 is also the year the Rams won the SB. They basically rode him all the way there. Then in the postseason he scored 7 TDs in 4 games …

I know alot of people deserve credit for today's win and some more then either. I just want to single them out and give them a lot of credit. Toub is a true professional and genious at his craft. The Bears continually have a great special teams, and that was a major factor in today. Knox, this isn't as much today, though he definitely contributed, I'm just in awe of his contributions as a whole. As a rookie WR it's hard to see time on the field for the Bears. He's not only earned his way on the field, but made the most of his opportunities. If he keeps up this work ethic and his talents continue to develop to the NFL stage he will continue to grow into something…

Interesting read from Toub's interview posted on ESPN. Toub is gonna fix Hester My favorite part: DT: We're going to emphasize with him to get a first down; get the ball up the field north and south, get 10 yards and then make a big play from there. If Devin can get that in his mind, then the return TDs will be there again. He spent far too much time going backwards and sideways, thinking he could outrun anyone and everyone...even someone with a great angle on him. Hester is super, but he's not superman.

http://www.suntimes.com/sports/10066011-41...with-bears.html Dave Toub signs extension with Bears BY SEAN JENSEN sjensen@suntimes.com January 17, 2012 1:27PM Reprints RELATED STORIES Mike Martz retires from coaching Updated: January 17, 2012 1:40PM The Bears made a significant move, keeping special teams coordinator Dave Toub by signing him to a two-year contract extension. Arguably the league’s best special teams coach, Toub was a candidate for the Miami Dolphins head coaching vacancy. According to NFL Network, Toub will be paid $1 million a year, ranking him among the league’s highest-paid special teams coordinators. He deserves th…

Sports Mockery is reporting that sources tell them that Nagy is going hard after Dave Toub to be his special teams coordinator. If he lands both Fangio and Toub as his coordinators that would be unbelievable.

"We consider him a four-phase starter,” said special teams coordinator Dave Toub. “That third running back has to be that guy. We can’t have a third running back that’s sitting on the bench not playing special teams. It’s valuable. We showed that the last few years with Garrett. So that’s the role that we need that player to be.” http://www.chicagobears.com/DailyBlogs.asp...G_DATE=08/17/11 This stament has me going now on CHester Taylor being gone maybe as soon as he has good showing in the preseason.

I was re-watching the game and got to thinking...Isn't this technically a safety? He fields the kickoff in bounds backpedals out of bound and downs the ball out of bounds? Always thought if you on your own step out of the back of the end zone it's a safety? I could be wrong if the rules are different on Kick off returns as opposed to being on offense and stepping on the end line. Probably a dumb question but curiosity. Along those lines the kickoff pictured here is the one following the roughing which honestly that's a worthless penalty to simply kick it off 15 yards further up field. Unless you have a kicker who struggles with distance it's going to be a touchb…

He needs a thread of his own.... The Vikes, who Melton visited, signed Linval Joseph, so I think that takes them out of the race. I'd say Cowboys are still an option.

So I keep getting notifications of trades happening around the league. The most recent being Ha-Ha Clinton-Dix has left GB and gone to Washington. As Ty Montgomery also left for Baltimore. Seems things are heating up on that front. Saw a rumor a few days back that Leonard Floyd has been on a few teams’ radars. One being GB. And of course we know Jordan Howard has been rumor fodder in the past. All that being said, could we potentially see one or two of our players leave for ‘greener pastures’? If so...who? https://bearswire.usatoday.com/2018/10/29/matt-nagy-bears-will-listen-to-trade-offers/

Here is what Poles has as options with his first 3 picks: With 39, he can trade back for a 2nd and a 3rd: 54 / 85 (NE) 55 / 87 (ARZ) 56 / 88 (DAL) 57 / 89 (BUF) For #39, for a 2nd and a 4th: 44 / 117 (CLE) 45 / 118 (BAL) 47 / 121 (IND) For #48, for a 2nd and a 3rd: 61 / 93 (SF) 62 / 94 (KC) 63 / 120 / 208 (CIN) For #48, for a 2nd and a 4th: 53 / 125 (LV) 54 / 126 (NE) Then for 71, they could do something this to pick up a 4th: 80/136 (HOU) 82/121 (IND) 83/123 (PHI) So Poles has a ton of options with his first 3 picks. My guess is he pulls off at least one of these.

With Dallas losing Sean Lee for the season I'm wondering if anyone would consider trading Briggs to Dallas? There are no rumors so this is purely my fantasy league. We are dealing with Jerry Jones who is known for his desperation moves and Briggs is a natural fit into Dallas' defense. Right now there is no way I'd do it solely because I think we can compete at a high level in the playoffs and there is too much risk in all the young players. However, if SMC and Bostic are looking good (I'll assume DJ Williams is "good") and the coaches think guys like Greene and Christian Jones will be decent backups then I'm open to it. We can't know that now, or rather the coa…
