In another post, I mentioned how I felt unsettled over the way last season ended and this began. I know why now. Our identity is offense while the defense retools. Problem is, the 2 people at the forefront of the offense are knuckleheads.(Trestman and Cutler) Both made bonehead decisions that compromised our ability to win. After that, we still had a chance to win in OT and our dynamic duo could not come through. This does not bode well for a the confidence of our defense. Taking the most current rankings from various sites, I put together a compiled list to see how the prospects would rank. I ranked them by average draft position with their highest and lowest slot in parentheses. I was surprised to see 15 players ranked in the top 20 in all rankings. That is really consistent. I added some breaks where the averages were separated by a few points. If we are going BPA, and this list is any indication of player value, it looks like we will pick from the first 7 listed (and more specifically Fowler/Cooper/White/Gregory). Here are my short recaps for this Sunday's games: NFC GB 30 - 20 STL, close until mid-4th, GB has no running game, Rodgers now with 2 straight games with QB Rating over 130, wow. GB a very one-dimensional team, surprised teams have not been able to exploit that yet. Leading rusher Green was 20-35 and that was with a 15 yarder. GB now 4-3. They will easily win next week vs JAX, but I can see ARZ the following week posing a threat with their strong Defense. Next week, STL welcomes NE into town. As it stands today if the season stopped and we headed to the playoffs it would look like this 1. Packers (NFC North) 2.49ers (NFC West) 3. Giants (NFC East) 4. Saints (NFC South) with the #5.Lions and the #6.Bears as the two wildcard teams. Packer and 49ers will have the bye so the Bears play the Giants and the Lions play the Saints in the first round

We won the 2nd half 14-13. Our defense only allowed 6 which was less than our offense let up (7 on Pick-6). We had a Special Teams TD, and no one got injured on a sack celebration (because we had no sacks). We won the penalty battle 11-5 and had more penalty yards than GB 163-50. Williams had 288 Return Yards on a whopping 10 KO's. Our defensive players did not record a single Pass Defended, INT, Forced Fumble, or Sack. They kept a clean box score with tackles only. We let up 4 more pts than our last game and increased the margin of loss by 13. For our last 3 games, we have a point differential of -82.

For the Oline specialists out there what are your thoughts on James Brown? In his first couple games he was getting pushed around a lot, he still needs to improve his strength IMO. Lately he seems to settling into the role at LG and I thought he played ok today. Cutler had a lot of time to throw throughout the game and as someone who has watched more Cards games than most they do have a good pass rush. We still can't open holes inside for the running game but did seal the edge a few times for some nice gains. Is there potential for this guy to be on the roster next year? Better than Spencer/EWilliams at LG?

At some point they’re going to have to adjust these low totals to account for our defense. We’ve given up over twenty five points dating back at least ten games while going 7-3 over the total our last ten. This year we’re a perfect 4-0 over the total with the only close one being in TB. The total for Thursday sits at 44 currently for those of y’all that wager.

The Jags have depth at DT so the loss won't be that big, but Stroud was a real good player for them... but will he ever be the same after his injury?
