3. Jon Asamoah, OG, Illinois ---This guy is an absolute beast. I'm praying he falls here. Everytime I watch Illinois, the whole OL gets toasted except him. 4. Deunta Williams, FS, North Carolina ---Steltz looked OK but Afalava is a SS and we need a true FS. Williams is a steal this late. 5. Austen Lane, DE, Murray State ---Through November 19, this guy had 11 sacks on the year. This late, he's worth a try. We all know JA loves small school guys (Abilene Christian). 6. Dennis Landholt, OT, Penn State ---More OL depth. 7. Shawn Estes, C, Hawaii ---Kreutz is starting to wear down, and I'm afraid we've already molded Beekman to be an OG. Estes is a true C. …

With wins the last two weeks, we are now in 13th for the 2015 draft. Interestingly, we have the 9th hardest schedule this season and only 3 teams in the top 10 of the SoS have a winning record. 1. OAK 1-10 2. JAX 1-10 3. TEN 2-9 4. NYJ 2-8* 5. TB 2-9 6. WAS 3-8 7. NYG 3-8 8. CAR 3-7-1 9. MIN 4-7 10. STL 4-7 11. ATL 4-7 12. HOU 5-6 13. CHI 5-6 14. BUF 5-5* 15. MIA 6-5 16. BAL 6-4*

This is IF they only sign a LT in FA and nothing else, and let Urlacher walk. Bears trade their 1st round pick to the Bengals for picks 37, 84, and 148, and a 4th next year. 2. DJ Fluker, T, Alabama --Got their LT, now they have their RT. 2. Gerald Hodges, LB, Penn State --Steady player for PSU who's a tackling machine. 3. Travis Kelce, TE, Cincinnati --Bigger TE threat to compliment Rodriguez; can block and catch. 4. Alvin Bailey, G, Arkansas --A solid G who would be a 2nd rounder in 2014 had he stayed. 5. Joe Kruger, DT/DE, Utah --Brother of Baltimore's Paul, he's got great size but still is raw. 5. Jasper Collins, WR, Mount Union --Speed…

The league announced the cap will be $224.8M for 2023. With that info and the known carryovers and other related charges, OTC has the Bears at $90.8M in cap space and $82M in effective cap. Using effective cap, which is more realistic, the Bears could sign 3x players with a $10M cap hit for 2023 and STILL have the highest available cap space. Truly insane. 17 teams are over the cap (effective cap) and another 6 are under $10M. The Saints and Bucs are going to have to cut some big name players as they are $58M and $62M over. There is no way you can manipulate the cap that much. Some teams are actually quite comical. Packers are $20M over and saddled with Rodgers…

14. Jack Conklin, OT, Michigan State Jay Cutler looked like a new man earlier in the year, but he has regressed recently. Part of the blame has to be on the offensive line, which features two struggling tackles. Kyle Long is out of place and should be used at guard, while Charles Leno is just a swing tackle, at best. 44. Austin Johnson, DT, Penn State The Bears need as much defensive help as possible as they continue to transition into their new 3-4 scheme. The defensive line is comprised of mediocre players, at best, so this is an area the front office will have to upgrade this offseason. 75. Anthony Zettel, DE/DT, Penn State A second defensive lineman…

I can't help my disgust for how this team has treated Mike Hass. He can easily be this teams Wes Welker. Welker has gone through the exact same crap Hass is going through just to get his shot. These guys both have the talent and for some reason from college to the pros they were passed over. Welker finally has the stage to open up eyes and he has done so. Although he still has to fight for the credit. Mike Hass can be that same player. He is exactly the kind of receiver this team needs...Will he ever get his chance?? This is a pretty good read on Welker...

Since this year is trash, time to look forward. I think we need to pick up 2 WRs in FAgency from a pretty good group and then draft one or two in the draft. In the draft we are going to get a top 5 pick so we should be able to move back and grab a couple of extra picks from someone looking for a QB.(Giants, Broncos, Cardinals, Jets, Dolphins,Chargers, Bills) Buffalo has two first round picks and two second round picks , so for sake of this article, we trade our (projected 1-4 pick) to Buffalo for (projected 1-15 and 1-20 plus 2- 51 picks) So in the draft we have 2 1sts, and 2- 2nds, with those picks in the first round we get a OT and OLB, in the second…

I finally completed a review of the win over the Vikings with main focus on the line play, both sides. DLine: Solid play inside in this game mainly from Hicks. Either the coaches or McPhee are getting to him (likely both) because he's starting to play more violently. On his sack near the goal line he just clubbed the lineman with his right arm knocking him off balance and then just ran right past him. After some solid but unspectacular first few games his arrow is now pointing up. Unrein is still unable to get any movement in the pass rush. He's still a solid depth-type player but he's not what we need as a starter. OTOH Bullard is making progress in his pas…

I took the time to watch the game again and I'll start my thoughts with the QB. I was a bit harsh on Trubisky in my other post where I said this was his worst game. He had the two picks and early on looked like he was trying to be too perfect or over-analyzing things. Announcers were critical of him for over throwing Jordan Howard in the flat in the first quarter but didn't acknowledge the hand of a defender that he had to throw over to top of. I don't regret at all the chance he took with Robinson when it was a foot short. In time he'll have a better feel for that throw. For the second game in a row he led the offense right down the field for a TD to open the …

I am going through ALL-22 view on NFL GamePass and holy crap the Officials let the Raiders get away with murder. If Leno is going to get called for holding like he has, yet the Raiders could do what they did on every play, we are screwed. I have no clue why the Raiders were not called more, especially when some of the holds were blatant and right at the point of attack. Also, the chop blocks are crazy. I am going to try to get a count of chop blocks for the game. 1st Quarter 1. 3rd and 1, FB runs for 3. Two different offensive linemen leave their feet and dive forward at the knees of defenders (RT and C) right in front of ball carrier. 2 chops. 2. Next play, 1st …

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/...utlers-release/ Trestman tries to speed up Cutler’s release Posted by Mike Florio on June 14, 2013, 10:48 PM EDT AP Sure, plenty of Jay Cutler’s 148 sacks during his time in Chicago have arisen from less-than-stellar blocking. But Cutler could have helped himself by getting rid of the ball more quickly. New coach Marc Trestman hopes to make that happen. As explained by Jeff Dickerson of ESPNChicago.com, Trestman has been using a “verbal running clock” (which may or may not have included “Mississippis”) whenever Cutler and the team’s other quarterbacks take reps in 11-on-11 or seven-on-seven dri…
