1-2, 10 yds. Throws to first read into triple coverage on completion. Lucky it wasn't intercepted and the receiver almost got blown up. Instead of letting him air it out, they protect him and run more than pass while Trubisky was in. That was embarrassing, and against the Lions no less.

When Fields entered the game the offense was completely out of rhythm. It stayed that way through his first couple drives. After that I saw three plays I really liked. Of course I loved his TD run, but Mitch could have done that. The first play I liked was one where he was rolling to the right and patiently hit the receiver that was breaking free. Two was his long run. Only two players in the NFL make that run, Fields and Lamar Jackson. The only difference, Lamar would've scored, yet Fields just glides at that speed. Third was the TD to James. When you show elite arm strength and it looks effortless as you are rolling right and throwing left. Impressive. I know…

  5. Started by Connorbear,

Visited Bears training camp today with my brother and his boys. Observations: 1 - Much more like Platteville than Bourbonnais. Platteville was very laid back. Bourbonnais was was too corporate for my taste. 2 - Jaylon Johnson had 2 picks of Andy Dalton. The 2nd was beautifully timed where he jumped over the receiver on a long pass to haul it in. Dalton did have a nice throw to Allan Robinson on the sidelines. 3 - Justin Fields made a fantastic throw to Jesse James on a deep side-line route that went right over the top of the defender Charles Snowden. It really was a thing of beauty. 4 - Watched the defensive line prac…

  7. Trubisky revenge game. Watch him go off and throw 3 TDs in the first half. That would suck lol. Guys I am watching besides Fields: Our Tackles, Herbert, Johnson (WR), Gipson (Edge), Attaochu, Blackson, Vildor Some interesting battles for the last few WR slots and CB2. Hopefully Mack doesn't kill Trubisky. GO BEARS Bears 27-17 Fields leads another win!

I hope it means they have a deal on the table for Foles. Otherwise playing him that long was stupid. Did Nagy get asked about it?

  9. Started by Mongo3451,

The same bad theme keeps cycling through my brain; Pace with another trade down, then a free agent overpay, Nagy with another dumb decision and so on. In just this year, Pace has brought us Andy Dalton at the cost of Kyle Fuller. While I agreed with the trade for Fields, the 'meh' was for trading yet another pick for Jenkins when we could have gotten a tackle with our pick.(but no, he falls in love with certain players) He simply could have kept Trubisky on a cheap deal, kept Fuller, drafted Fields and we'd be stronger. Nagy is just Nagy. He is and will be remembered as the Wile E Coyote of coaches. He gets all of the ACME products to make the perfect rocket…

  10. Fields gets the start with the starting O-Line. We will see how they hold up and will get to see how Peters looks at full speed. Mostly backend roster and bubble players tonight. I would like to see better tackling and better special teams play overall. Go Bears!

  11. Started by Alaskan Grizzly,

So watching Foles play yesterday almost makes me miss him but then I realized he was playing against 3rd and 4th stringers who mostly won’t have a job by the end of the week. But man did he look good running that offense. How about Horstead? Might need to make a spot for him to stay? Probably drop JP Holtz to make room. My two fave players coming out of camp have to be Rodney Adams and Khyris Tonga. Have to believe both make it. After yesterday’s game I’m a bit concerned about Peters and Ifedi starting. Both got schooled pretty badly early on. Yes I know it’s preseason but man. Hopefully somebody cuts a solid OLT in the next few days.

They will start rookie Mac Jones. I mention this because it will muddy the waters for the Bears as they try to trade Foles. Chances are a team can sign Newton on a cheaper one year deal as a backup.

  13. Started by Mongo3451,

In re-watching the game I noticed an RPO that Fields missed on 4th and two. It was actually a beautiful play by Nagy and was perfectly executed by everyone but the rookie. The defender makes the play along the red line. Fields misses the read. If he pulls the ball and follows Ridley it's a possible TD. Look for this play in the future. Side note: Jason Peters is still a stud. His feet are amazingly agile for a man his size. He also had zero issues getting to the second level. Praying father time holds off one more year.

  14. Started by Bill,

Just got the first JF rookie card from Panini. One of only 4301. Took a month. Yea I now it's nerdy. But when He becomes the goat it will be worth 500 bucks. And I will be dead.

  15. Sunday Night Football Real football is finally here. Last year, the Rams beat the Bears 24-10 in Week 7 in Chicago. The offense had 3 points in that game. Foles had 2 INTs and was sacked 4 times. If Dalton starts, it is hard to see how we passed the Rams in the offseason, as they gained Stafford, and lost Goff and Akers (who didn't play against the Bears). So to me, if Dalton plays the entire game, the Bears lose by double digits. If Fields plays at least a half, we have a shot. Either way, I have this one as a loss. Prove me wrong Bears.

  16. Started by madlithuanian,

I've been on vacation from Bears chat because I needed a break from the idiocy of how our team is run. I even wrote George McCaskey a letter at the end of the season to express my unapproval for how the team is run by Nagy and Pace. None of that has changed. What did change is we drafted Justin Fields. He's a football player and game changer. Pace did nothing but get lucky with him falling far enough to take him. He still has yet to help much drafting the O all the while giving up picks and depth. I feel we are never going to get over the hump with Pace and Nagy. Fields can still be great, but he can't change every playcall Nagy makes at the LOS. I see this team …

  19. So, here we are again wondering what went wrong and how to fix it. Let’s start with our first offensive series. On the second play from scrimmage Monty hits a nice hole for 41 yards. It was great play with flawed execution. Why? If Montgomery switches hands with the football and uses a stiff arm, he scores. He learned this in fourth or fifth grade. Plain and simple, opportunity missed. After no gain by Williams, because Nagy decided Monty needed a rest after running a forty, Fields enters the game. Boom, 8-yard pickup to the three yard line. In comes Dalton, why? Isn’t this the perfect opportunity to let Fields utilize his tremendous gifts with three yards to g…

  20. These teams are fairly even going into this game. Mixon vs Monty. Red Rider Revenge Game. To me it comes down to execution. If the Bears players play up to expectations, the Bears win by 10. If they play how they did last week, they lose by at least 7. I am hoping for more Fields, just put the kid in already. I have really soured on Nagy and it feels like he is over his head and needs to give up playcalling. Bears 24-20.
