Just curious on the thought of moving Daniel's back to center. I think that is were he flourishes, if he can overcome the mental aspects. I would feel better about it if the Bears can have a probowler like Warford on his right, but just read those talks are off. Still thought it would be worth considering. It is a difficult thought since it didn't work the first attempt, so do they scrap that idea? As a guard, he is not strong enough. At center, he wasn't ready to make the reads and calls. The organization is at a win at all costs point to save their jobs. What do they do?

We've drafted a CB who is going to immediately fit right into this backfield. He might not be the most athletic (maybe more quick than fast) but listen to Bryant McFadden talk about what he brings to the table. This kid will be playing early this season. This is the kind of CB you want playing behind a good pass rush.

I need someone to help me understand why all the pundits etc. are making such a big deal about all the tight ends on the roster in April. Should they not bring in perhaps one better then all of them just because they have to many. Maybe they should only bring 60 players to training camp. You don't need 90+. I thought the idea was to have the best 53 when the season starts not in April. And on a side note. Today is the day my wife and I were to leave for our long planned month long trip to Europe. In the world we live in it's not a big price to pay compared to so many. But it was something we had planned for a year.

So there’s your safety help. The guy seems curious to me - always thought he was more of a FS, so I’m not sure he paints great with EJ, and he’s coming off an injury. I wouldn’t presume he gets handed the starting job over Bush.

It looks like the Bears are not expected to pick up the 5th year option. This will be the ultimate litmus test on how the team feels about Mitch. If they had any hope he would turn it around, this would be a no brainer. If they truly feel he has hit his ceiling and Foles is the clear QB1, then they won't pick it up. It seems like it comes down to comp picks. It seems like the Bears don't want to risk losing a potential comp pick if they pick up his option, then cut him before his 5th season (like Floyd). Outside of cap numbers, that is the main risk.

I would say they sign a few more UDFAs and then look for a vet S. I prefer Eric Reid but there are several good ones out there. Also Clayton Geathers has ties to Pagano when he was in Indy. Every year it's hard to cover all your weaknesses you have. They did bring back bring Bush and brought in the KC guy but still needs to bring one more vet in. Also they brought in 2 OLs but that's probably not enough. So 1 more OL and S and I think we're ready to go.

A https://www.windycitygridiron.com/2020/4/29/21238672/chicago-bears-2020-nfl-draft-previewing-bears-depth-chart-cole-kmet-nick-foles-mitchell-trubisky See the link above it’s a good depth chart breakdown and to easily see where all the players line up. I think it’s time for Bush to step up at strong safety because there are players left in free agency with significantly more defensive snaps. As you can see below his defensive snaps have been low and his base salary is $1,262,500 which seems a lot of money for a special teamer Defense Special Solo Assist Sacks Yards TFL …

From https://overthecap.com/compensatory-draft-picks-cancellation-chart/ it looks like we'll be earning three 6th Rd, and one 7th Rd comp picks next year. We signed KPL and Nick Williams last year as player nobody expected anything from yet both played well enough for their new deals to earn us comp picks. Chicago Bears Compensatory Free Agents Lost: 5 Compensatory Free Agents Gained: 1 Name Rd. APY Rank Name Rd. APY Rank Nick Kwiatkoski 6 $7,000,000 320 …

Can someone explain what the Bears are doing wrong with getting compensatory picks. Is it purely down the the team drafting poorly or do we do something wrong in free agency that affects us getting picks. Is it we waive players early instead of waiting for them to hit free agency and sign with another team. If I was the owner this would be an area that I would try to manipulate. I may be wrong but teams like the Patriots, Raven’s and Steelers always seem to gain extra picks.

Many on this board, me included, felt that Pace had a great opportunity to trade down a net us a few extra picks. Seems like that opportunity was available at both picks and Pace stood pat. My guess is that got what they hoped for all along. Would you have drafted differently? Do you believe these players were exactly what Pace wanted at those slots? https://www.si.com/nfl/bears/news/bears-gm-ryan-pace-liked-picks-too-much-to-trade-down

I'm surprised at how well he tracks the ball and then goes up after it. He's small like Gabriel but if he gets into his stride he's fast. As a late Rd pick he's a decent cheaper version of Hamler and in that context I like the value. The big difference is learning how to run routes in this offense.

Some crazy stuff must have happened when they were stuck quarantined on some island. Hate to see people get divorces, but it's hard to live your life in front of a camera every day. That has to get old.
