You are in the war room and Mike Adams and Michael Floyd are available at the 19th pick. What's your pick. I would take Floyd over Adams because I believe he is a higher rated prospect than Adams but Floyd can't get the ball if Cutler is on his back.

Just read that St Clair is set to start at LG this week. I have no problem benching Metcalf who has been awful. I mean, he has been worse than a one armed Brown. But is Beekman so bad that we need to start an OT at OG? W/ only two games remaining, it is obviously development and evaluation time, hense why Orton is playing. Either Beekman is so bad that our staff doesn't believe he is worth the development time or they simply have no clue when it comes to developing players in meaningless games.

For this draft to be an upgrade from past drafts. Pick 1. A no brainer once Cooper and Williams were gone. However, anything less then a B. Marshall career will turn what could be a great pick into just another Bears failure at first round WR's. 2. Filled the biggest need on D with a better be starter day one. Meaning he will start on first downs and running downs first year. Will rotate with a few others but should be our Wilfork for the next ten years or another bust. 3. A mild manner Krutz. He won't punch out team mates only opposing tackles. May start year one or learn for a year then a ten year anchor. Same as Goldman. …

It is about that time to set a draft date and get the pay details squared away for this season. Also, any GM's not participating this year? Can we get a roll call? I'm in.

What if the top three OT (Martin, Reiff, Kalil) and the top three WR (Blackmon, Floyd, Jeffery) are off the board when the Bears pick? Aside from being irritated that the Bears needlessly won the last game of the season and ruined their draft pick status, what are you thinking? BPA vs. need becomes a much more interesting question at that point. If this scenario happens, and we're all relatively upset, that could indicate that LBs are getting passed over and a few other nice prospects are falling. Vontaze Bufict, LB, Arizona State Luke Kuechly, ILB, Boston College Dont’a Hightower, ILB, Alabama Trent Richardson, RB, Alabama Whitney Mercilus, DE, Illi…

Don't look now, but even if we don't win the division, there's only 3 teams ahead of us and 2 wildcard slots. Tampa, Atlanta, & Dallas. And Dallas has a killer schedule (Philly, Giants, & Baltimore) so I would count them out, especially after last Sunday's game. Tampa and Atlanta still have to play each other so that's one guaranteed loss for one of them. Also, Atlanta plays Minny, so either Minny will win the division but help us out by beating Atanta, or Atlanta will beat Minny and help make it possible for us to retake the division. There's also other 7-6 teams, so it's still pretty unlikely, but still possible if the Bears win out. Big if, I know.

I am just going to keep this running until the end of the season. I know we still have a statistical chance at making the playoffs, but unless Detroit loses 2 of their last 4 and we win out, it's over. Don't get me wrong, I would much rather have a 10-6 finish, beating GB and sliding in as DET folds, players get healthy, and we make a surprise run. Right now, Houston is #1 at 2-10 with #2-5 teams at 3-9. Minnesota is 6th after Sunday's win. Buffalo and Cleveland are #7-8 at 4-8. Then there is a logjam at 5-7 with 6 teams from #9-14. GB is alone at #15, and then we are grouped with the other 6-6 teams (#16-18). However, one of them is currently a WC team, so we…

  12. Both teams come in tied at 6-7, with only 3 games remaining, this has become an elimination game. The team that wins has a 50/50 shot at a playoff slot while the loser is pretty much eliminated from playoff contention. It really comes down to which one of each of these teams shows up.

ASHKUM brought this..... ....up yesterday, and I believe the response deserves it's own thread... After crunching numbers, Clayton is basically right. Once you add in the 4.8M needed for the draft, the Bears have 3.5M left. There's so much they can do as far as cuts and restructuring go though. Cutting Peppers ups that number to ~13.3 Cutting Bennett ups it to ~15.7 Cutting Bush ups it to 17.5 Cutting Podlesh ups it to 18.5 Then I think they'll extend BMarsh and they'll save at least 3M there bringing the total to ~21.5 If things play out they wa I said, 21.5 for free agents(remember I took draft money out), shoul…

It is pretty funny when they talk about a drop in production, but the guy had half as many targets as he had the two years prior. So of course his receptions and yardage would be down. Every WR on Miami had a down year (maybe the QB's fault or the game plan?). Funny that they cut Hartline and Gibson, are looking to trade Wallace but are keeping Jarvis Landry and his 9.0 yds/rec which is less than their TEs (Clay/Sims). Hartline seems like a durable possession guy.

If a player decides to hold out a entire season, what is his status the following season? Does he still owe the team work for the previous year? Does it matter how many years of service? Also does it matter if it's the final year of a contract? Gurus needed!:

Rumor is the Patriots are asking for a 1st Rd pick for Matt Cassel. I'm not ready to give that up for a one year wonder, especially with the talent on that team as well the coaching staff. I don't watch Patriot's games so I really don't know how good he looked as a QB but he did put up some very impressive numbers in the second half of the season. I'd give up a 3rd Rd pick plus maybe a 6th Rd pick. What do you think he's worth?

I am glad Poles didn't get an itchy trigger finger and burn down his draft capital with a trade up. Now the Bears have 2 picks in the next 9 picks. I assume that Sanders will go before the Bears pick, so there will only be 6 players taken by the time the Bears pick twice. RB - Henderson, Judkins, Johnson, Skattebo WR - Higgins, Noel, Burden, Harris OT - Ersery IOL - Wilson, Savaiinaea DT - Alexander, Turner, Norman-Lott Edge - Green, Ezeiruaku, Scourton, Jackson, Tuimoloau LB - Schwesinger CB - Johnson (injury concerns), Revel, Amos S - Emmanwori, Winston, Watts The 4 players in bold have a first-round grade and Green and Johnson were both…
