Andy Dalton, Old QB1 Revenge Game. He just lost to his first team, CIN this week. CAR gave up 34 pts to CIN. CAR has a bad defense and a bad offense, and an overall worse team than LAR. They have allowed 47, 26, 22, and 34 so far. Their defense allows 35 pts on the road. Every team has scored at least 3 TDs against CAR this season. I am calling it now, Bears 31-16. CAR averages 18 pts a game and allows 32 pts per game so far thru 4 weeks. Defense now has 2 weeks of Andy Dalton tape.

They were trying to sign him last off-season but he went back to Buffalo. For a 2024 5th rounder. Poles is going to have to trade down, down to 5 picks in the draft.

Bears have cut or waived OL Ebon Britton, WR Dale Moss, RB Jordan Lynch, TE Jeron Mastrud, OL Ryan Groy, S Marcus Trice, C Taylor Boggs, OL Dennis Roland, WR Armanti Edwards, OL Rob Turner, WR/KR Chris Williams, LB Dede Lattimore, DT Lee Pegues, CB Kelvin Hayden, WR Josh Bellamy. I went to the 2nd practice and I thought Cutler looked like Robbie Gould. This concerned me. He says it was to imrpove his mobility, except he was pretty damn mobile to begin with and Martz doesn't want his QB's leaving the pocket. So why did he slim down? Meanwhile the media is saying Cutler looks great and worked hard to slim down. The thing is, to me Cutler always looked like a big strong athlete who could take a beating and get up. Interestingly, Gase was 3rd from last (Trestman 2nd from last) for their careers and both were tied for last in 2015. ...isn't it? To read all the KFFL, PFT, etc. blurbs about guys visiting teams and not see the Bears mentioned once? I just wish JA would show a bit more movement. We do have holes and there are players out there that can help. My gosh, are we painting ourselves into acorner for the draft or what?

Evidence suggests we've improved all around at other positions of need. We could still use a safety but I'm not convinced one rated high enough will be there at #7. So I'm declaring for the WR position although I'm still open as to who that is. Further evidence is that one of our first moves was to cut Marshall loose. To me that suggests Pace has been planning this all along, playing chess knowing that the goal was WR at the end of the day. Then again, we did add a WR already but he's more a slot guy. So I'm sticking with it, it's going to be WR. Thoughts?

This one could be another stinker. NE is actually the top defense the Bears will have faced yet. Then next week, the Bears get a better defense to play against in DAL. So Fields may be out or injured by Week 9 unless they fix this O-Line and protection. The Bears are known for making unknown QBs look good, so I expect a 300-yd, 2 TD game from Bailey Zappe while Fields stays on average for 190 yds passing on 15-24 passing, 1 TD, 1 INT, 5 sacks, 1 fumble, 55 rushing yards.
