Jacobs was the consensus #1 RB coming out, but then there was the group of Sanders, Henderson, Montgomery, and Singletary all lumped together as 2nd-3rd rounders. The last 3 came off the board within 5 picks of each other in the early 3rd round and Sanders went #53 in the 2nd (17 before Henderson). So thru Week 5, here is what they look like: Sanders 54-193, 3.57 YPC, 0 TD, 10-133, 0 TD Henderson 1-0, 0 TD Montgomery 69-225, 3.26 YPC, 2 TD, 9-72, 0 TD Singletary 10-127, 12.7 YPC, 1 TD, 5-28, 0 TD Singletary has only played in two games but has had 7 runs of 10 yards or longer. The fact that he only has 10 carries and has only played in two games is co…

Right now we sit a game back of the Packers and a half-game behind the Lions. Detroit has yet to play a divisional game, so we will see how they compare to the rest of the division starting this week. The Lions also play the Vikings and us in their next 5 games, so those games will be very important in terms of playoff chances. There are 4 non-division teams vying for a playoff spot (SEA, LAR, CAR, and PHI) as well. Packers (4-1) next 5: vs DET, vs OAK, @KC, @LAC, vs CAR Projected record after 10 games: 7-3, This is dependent on how long Adams is out. If they fall flat against DET, then have to play OAK who has a solid running game, they could easily lose 3 here. T…

https://www.chicagobears.com/news/roster-moves-bears-sign-harris-cut-sowell I'm assuming this means Hicks isn't likely to play which is a huge hit to our Dline. Sowell will likely just stay in town for when he returns to the roster in the next week or two.

  4. Started by Bill,

Just a dumb mans opinion. Offense- D No where do I see anything that I can hang my hat on going forward. QB play has been at best below average. One good quarter and the rest below average. I don't care about stats or other such things. The eye test is just sad. Neither Mitch nor Daniels look like they can lead a team to the playoffs or a long run once they get there. Being a game manager is just not good enough today. Sometimes you have to put the game on the QB and expect him to win the game. I have no faith in either of them doing that. The off. line is just horrible. Nothing more to say about the run game or passing game it all starts with the OL pla…

I am going through ALL-22 view on NFL GamePass and holy crap the Officials let the Raiders get away with murder. If Leno is going to get called for holding like he has, yet the Raiders could do what they did on every play, we are screwed. I have no clue why the Raiders were not called more, especially when some of the holds were blatant and right at the point of attack. Also, the chop blocks are crazy. I am going to try to get a count of chop blocks for the game. 1st Quarter 1. 3rd and 1, FB runs for 3. Two different offensive linemen leave their feet and dive forward at the knees of defenders (RT and C) right in front of ball carrier. 2 chops. 2. Next play, 1st …

  6. Started by Mongo3451,

After five weeks, I've seen enough to point the finger squarely at Nagy. From not playing starters in preseason to be being the only coach to take his team to London that late, he is constantly showing that he is overconfident. Meanwhile the Raiders were 0-2 in London and decided to take his team earlier than anyone else did. What we see the next 11 games will also be on Nagy. Heading back from lunch. More to come later...

Oh boy, this was seen as a positive before the season and now looks like a boat anchor on the Titanic. 1. Leno, signed through the 2021 season with cap hits of $3.3M this year, $10.3M in 2020, and $11.3M in 2021. Dead money of over $5M a year makes him borderline uncuttable. Based on what he was earning before this contract, you have to think some of the performance downturn has to do with him getting all this money and getting lazy. His first full contract total earned him just over $2M and he got 7 times that in a signing bonus in his new contract. Feels like a huge overpay now. 2. Massie. For some reason Pace thought it was a good idea to lock him up until he…

Smart move Mr. Pace. Now the next decision is do we put Kyle Long on IR and bring Bars up to the 53? https://bearswire.usatoday.com/2019/10/07/ol-alex-bars-turned-down-patriots-to-remain-on-bears-practice-squad/

Since it’ll be a few days until we see the Bears play again...how about this? Parkey set to sign with Titans after Santos let go. Wasn’t that nearly the same route the Bears took last year? https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/titans/2019/10/07/cody-parkey-cairo-santos-kicker-tennessee-titans/3903660002/

  11. Neutral field, even without Mitch, Akiem, Bilal, and Roquan, we should win this game. This is the Khalil and Eddy Revenge Game. Based on Mack's comments this week, he is going to be amped up for this one. I am expecting havoc from him all game and wouldn't be surprised to see him get a multi-sack effort and a bunch of pressures. All we need out of Chase is an average game without too many turnovers. We really need to get the running game going. As 5-point favorites, I will take the Bears winning 20-9 and the under. Using Sagarin Ratings: https://www.usatoday.com/sports/nfl/sagarin/ we are 7th and OAK is 25th. Using FBO, https://www.footballoutside…

  12. Schefty reporting that some of the rumors out there regarding Roquan and a car accident are false. However, Schefty is reporting that Roquan was not himself at practice this week. Hope whatever Roquan is going with, he gets whatever help he needs / can get things back in order.

I saw a Tweet about how the Bears defense is getting close to the pace of the vaunted '85 Bears Defense. This is what the numbers look like from the last 14 regular season games. This was when the defense got locked in last year and ever since they have been stout. 18-19-20 Bears (14 games) Average pts allowed: 13.86 (+1.48) Average Total yds allowed: 276 (+18) Sacks: 3.43 sacks per game (-0.57) Turnovers: 1.93 turnovers per game (-1.45) 1985 Bears Average pts allowed: 12.38 Average Total yds allowed: 258 Sacks: 4.0 sacks per game Turnovers: 3.38 turnovers per game The biggest difference is the turnovers produced. The 85' Bears took the b…

  14. Strength vs Strength. Minnesota Running Attack vs Chicago Run Defense. If Dalvin Cook goes over 100, we lose. If we can shutdown the run game, we have a great chance at creating turnovers. This is going to be an ugly game. I think it is going to be close and come down to a turnover or big special teams play. Bears 17-13.

  17. Started by Mongo3451,

After three games, it is clear to me that the OL unit rested on the laurels of last year. I'm not concerned because there has been steady improvement from week to week. Daniels will be fine at center once he gets his calls right. Leno looks he didn't work at all in camp, but is battling. Long looks very rusty, hopefully not washed up. My main thought is that Nagy had the entire offensive side of the team not ready for the start of the season. Looks like he's righting the ship weekly.

  18. This will be a good game. The Redskins are improved but I don't think they are at the Bears level. This is a must-win because we are the better team. We can't afford to lose in the weak part of the schedule. We were great against the spread last year, and now we are 0-2, so just based on trends and odds, we are due to win one ATS. So I am thinking Bears 20-13, with Pineiro getting 2 more FGs and the Redskins get a late TD and a failed onside kick to give us the W. Keenum is 2-0 against the Bears, with 2 wins in 2017 with MIN. In those games he was very efficient, but with very little yards (140 and 189). He doesn't have the supporting cast like he had in MIN, so this…

  19. Started by adam,

Interesting NextGenStat posted here: Basically Mahomes has thrown to more open receivers than anyone in the league between 2016-2018 and it's not even close. Talk about a scheme working, Andy Reid is a genius. Trubisky in the middle of the pack. Interesting to see Wentz grouped with Winston, Newton, and Bortles. Mahomes is the least aggressive but most productive passer. Ryan is the most aggressive/productive passer, Tannehill is the least aggressive, least productive passer, and Kizer is the most aggressive, least productive passer.
