There are many good players on this team, so let's fix it. My thoughts are simple and always have been. We start by fixing the OL. Spend two high draft picks on OL. Spend one on QB. After that, draft speed on D. Clearly, Nagy has struggled this year and nobody is looking at Helfrich. I suggest Nagy hire a more conservative OC to balance his mad scientist style. I believe Helfrich is not a counter balance. Then, Nagy has to listen. On defense, Pagano needs to find his inner Fangio on defense. We heard how aggressive Pagano is. I haven't seen it. Lions 3-4-1, Bears 3-5, this game will more than likely decide who finishes last in the division. An important factor is next year's schedule. The last place team will get ARZ and WAS, while the 3rd place team will get LAR and NYG, actually a pretty big difference. Stafford is supposedly a game-time decision. Johnson is out, however, Golladay and Jones have been on fire. Even Amendola, who would be our #2 WR, is having a solid year. Illinois came back from being down 31-10 to Michigan State in the 3rd quarter and won 37-34 after scoring 27 points in the 4th. So we traded Howard (making $2M) to then sign Davis for $3M a year. However, due to that signing, we lost a 4th round comp pick for the loss of Amos. If we cut Davis by Saturday, the Bears would recoup the 4th rounder and still have the 6th rounder for Howard next April. If Pace is not a complete idiot (jury is still out), then he has to make this move. We could've kept Howard, saved $1M and had a backfield of Howard, Montgomery, and Cohen this year. One HELL of a game! Those two QBs (Tua and Burrow) are going to be something in the NFL. Look for Bama and LSU players dominating the draft in the next few years.

Ok it's gotten past the slump buster stage. I thought he was being sarcastic the first time I heard him. But he is serious. It's time to just bench him and hope they keep losing so he can come back in a week or two and think it's not just my fault. Which it's not. His head is just not able to process all the info it's getting at this time, I hope. His mind just doesn't seem to know how to process, not just the play on the field, but also the fallout from it. Over load Over load. Says a retired mailman who can't even begin t understand all the plays in pro football. Not sure if that makes my opinion better or worse. LOL

You cant fire Pace this year. Without a first round draft pick, you cannot entice a good GM to come here. We need to dig out of the Mack trade hole before someone else would hitch their star to this team, so Pace is almost certainly secure for one more year. And you cant really bring in a coach of any quality when your GM has one year left either. So Pace and Nagy stay, or Pace fires Nagy and promotes from within. Then, after next year, anything is possible. I'm so angry we are here. And there is a lot of blame to go around, but I think Nagy deserves the most, followed by Trubisky - and therefore Pace.

He's disappeared. I know the Bears exercised the 5th year option on him but, at this time, he's not playing anywhere close to that value ($13.2 million). My understanding is the Bears could simply cut him before the beginning of the league year and would not have to pay him. Is this correct? Peace

Here is a list of QBs selected in the top 10 since 2010 (19). Outside of Newton, Luck, Mahomes, and maybe Wentz, do any of these other guys strike you as 15-year franchise QBs? I know you can say the same about any position or pick in the top 10, but with all the scouting and analysis, it would seem like the QB position would be one of the easier ones to assess properly. 1. Can you believe the Bears signed Glennon and drafted Trubisky in the same offseason and then benched Glennon after he had 4 straight games with a TD pass, completed over 63% of his passes and 3 games with over 200 yards passing (1x 300 yard game)? For as bad as we thought Glennon was (which he was), Trubisky is actually worse. Trubisky has 0 TD passes in 6 of his last 8 games (not including MIN game where he left with injury). Trubisky now has as many games with less than 200 yards passing than he has with more than 200 yards passing (16 games each). Glennon, in comparison has 13 games over 200 yards, 9 games under 200. This is the first game in a while that the Bears are not favored, go figure lol. I am surprised it is only by 4 points. Philly is an even more Jekyll and Hyde team than the Bears. In each of Philly's wins, they've scored over 30 points and in their 4 losses, they have allowed 24 or more. Their offense has scored 20 or more in 7 out of 8 games and their defense has allowed 20 or more pts 6 times. The Bears counter with 6 games allowing 17 or less and 3 games scoring 17 or more. OK, this year is going the way it is going. Down the tubes fast. And with our current QB's on the roster I don't see any way they will help us in the future. They will keep playing Mitch for the rest of the year but I don't see him as the answe going forward. We have an above average defense and it seems like good offensive with the running backs and wide receivers on the roster. If Burton can get back to normal health he is serviceable for the next two+ years. The offensive line is a problem but I think with a 2nd round pick or two it will work its way into above average. I was thinking about this. Can you imagine Bill Belichick having a dance party in the locker room after regular season wins? How do you expect he would deal with players underperforming? Can you even imagine him calling only 7 run plays in a game? I was wondering about Nagy giving his playcalling duties over to the actual OC, and then he could focus on... what exactly... Ok, early in the 2nd quarter, the Bears have 1st and 10 on the Saints 24. #1. The Bears send Gabriel in motion and no one follows. Trubisky fakes handoff/RPO to Montgomery and immediately looks towards ARob. Massie blocks inside and Jordan is unblocked on the edge (play design?). Coward/Massie double team DT, Whitehair/Daniels double the other. Monty looks to be running between those two, but doesn't get the ball. #2. Trubisky still staring down ARob, Jordan stops to ensure Montgomery doesn't have ball, both Miller and Gabriel open. Gabriel has to be in Trubisky's field of view. #3. One glaring weakness in Trubisky's game is the lack of rushes. He has played in 5 games (4 full) and has 5 rushes for 21 yards. Chase Daniel has 6 rushes. Mike Davis has 9. He had 7 rushes for 32 yards against GB last year in one game. In his first 5 full games, he had 25 carries for 164 yards and 1 TD. He needs to run the ball. For QBR purposes, Trubisky has -0.9 running which is on par with Cousins, Keenum, and Winston. His overall QBR is 34.2 (50.0 is average QB). Last year Mitch had a QBR of 71.0, 3rd to only Mahomes and Brees. His Run QBR was a 22.1. Last year his passing was 43.1, this year it's down to 2.4. Dating back to last season, he has 9 straight re…
