https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2848118-nfl-scouts-see-mitchell-trubisky-as-1-of-the-biggest-breakout-players-in-2019?share=twitter It's interesting to see this article coming on the heels of a few people at camp saying Trubisky is not playing well. I never know what to make of training camp. Last year Chiefs fans were nervous about Mahomes because he was throwing too many INTs in camp. He turned out ok but others, like Alex Smith, turn into a Checkdown Charlie. That can look good in camp until the real games show up and you can't stretch the defense well enough. To his credit Smith overcame those habits with the help of Matt Nagy. If you prefer to go…

See article below. I got spammed for comparing Anthony Miller to a young Antonio Brown, but it's surprising more people have not seen the similarities. In a way, Miller is already ahead of Brown. Brown took 3 years to get to 7 TDs, Miller did it in his rookie year with a bum shoulder. Brown was not WR1 until his 4th season, so Miller still has time to get there. Robinson, Miller, and Wims are all 25 and under. That would be a great trio to ride on for the next decade. Compare Brown/Miller in their last two years of college football: Miller 191-2896 yds, 15.2 YPC, 32 TDs Brown 203-2196 yds, 10.8 AVG, 16 TDs Basically the same receptions with Miller ha…

Bears kicking comp going better than expected. Pineiro has a slight edge in % and distance (long of 63). He has the leg strength, which will be helpful in the Chicago weather. Fry will need to put on a show the rest of the way to win this one. It seems like it's Pineiro's to lose.

We are in the process of buying a house in La Quinta and I wondered where fellow Bear fans go for games in the La Quinta, Indian Wells, Palm Desert CA area. Let me know.

I just got the invite for the league. Please remind me if we bumped up the fees and if we added a 2nd keeper costing 2 rounds... Thanks!

https://touchdownwire.usatoday.com/2019/06/19/the-nfls-11-best-offensive-tackles/ So the Bears did not make a top eleven tackle. But they had a player in every other list and in some two. Just amazing how good this defense is. I am looking forward to seeing how they will play with Pagano. And I don't for a minute think they are going backwards just because they lost Fangio. When Ryan left they were just as good and in many areas even better.

Excellent work here by Robert Schmitz. Nichols surprised me. He quickly became what I thought Bullard would be for our Dline. If he improved his strength he'll be fun to watch this year. https://www.windycitygridiron.com/2019/7/19/20700833/chicago-bears-video-breaking-down-rookie-bilal-nichols-2018-season-akiem-hicks-eddie-goldman

I don't know who his source is but last year he was spot on with the Bears. In general I've always liked his analysis of players and teams. I"m having a tough time getting Twitter links to work correctly If the bottom one doesn't work scroll through this until you see Riddick. https://twitter.com/hashtag/Bears?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc^tfw

This has been all over the Bears fans message boards and such the last week. Comments on some threads have been highly emotional (no shock). I don't really see any surprises in this analysis. I still see a young QB in a new offense with an entirely new WR group and Burton still learning the NFL. Trubisky improved quite a bit over the course of the season and he definitely still has room for improvement. I'm not sure why this is "news" to any NFL fan who has watched many young QBs struggle early in their careers. Nobody knows what trajectory his career will take from here but we do know that he is putting in the work to get better. At this point it seems his fl…

It's been a challenging offseason for Tarik and, not surprisingly, he's still coming to grips with this tragedy. https://www.greensboro.com/sports/ed-hardin-tarik-cohen-returns-to-a-t-finds-inspiration/article_5ab30b6c-a5ad-11e9-b131-a3407fbdb947.html#1

https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/pro-what-the-advanced-analytics-say-about-mitchell-trubiksy I really don't get all the national hate for Trubisky. He is a nice kid, says the right things, isn't overly cocky or arrogant, and has played pretty damn well considering the circumstances (Fox/Loggains era). I find it funny when people compare him to Rodgers, Stafford, Cousins, etc. All vets. The funny thing is to check out their stats before they were all 25. Before his 25-yr old season, Cousins played in 3 games, started 1 game, and had a total of 4 TDs, 3 INTs and 466 passing yards. In his first two years, he was 1-3, with 8 TD, 10 INT and 1320 passing yards. …

-- CAUTION LONG THREAD -- I took a look at the Bears cap situation for the next few years. I keep seeing things about the Bears being in cap hell next year, and that really is not the case. The Bears don't have to pay Trubisky big bucks until his 6th year in the league, so it looks like we can keep virtually the same roster for the next 3 years without too much trouble or turnover. The media paints it like we are in dire straits after this season. With a few key guys resigned each year, we should only expect to lose 2-3 starters per year in this next 3-year window. Similar to how we lost Howard and Amos this year and replaced with Montgomery and HHCD. With that…

Find a long term deal with Floyd now. The quote below is from Trevathan who usually doesn't give that kind of detailed praise. The article has more good info on how Floyd is developing at the guidance of our new OLB coach Monachino. https://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/bears/ct-spt-bears-leonard-floyd-breakout-season-biggs-20190617-story.html “I don’t know many linemen you got, but you better put some more on there because he’s been putting his best foot forward,” Trevathan said. “He’s been working his tail off and he’s been learning this defense in and out. I’ve been seeing him be more explosive, putting on a little more weight, a lot stronger, a lot more …

Cool ‘behind the scenes’ story on how the Bears acquired Mack. Also note towards the end of the story how on day one while at practice Mack was already displaying his leadership skills. Freakin awesome. https://www.chicagobears.com/news/how-the-bears-acquired-all-pro-khalil-mack

I made a comment on a twitter account that claimed Bear fans have anxiety over the speak talk that Amos is better than HaHa. I put out the stats that clearly show HaHa as a splash player. That HaHa was a cheap acquisition 3.5 compared to 9. That HaHa only has to be the 10th best player on a good defense where Amos has to be a savior for a poor defense. I have never had so much attention on twitter. It totally brought out the homeless people living in Wisconsin. Over 60 responses to my statements. They are dumber than I thought. I have always thought Amos was a good player and would have like to kept him, but a cheaper HaHa is more desirable than an expensive Amos. I get H…
