  1. JUDGE RULES IN FAVOR OF WILLIAMS AND WILLIAMS Posted by Michael David Smith on December 3, 2008, 7:28 p.m. Minnesota Vikings defensive tackles Pat Williams and Kevin Williams have won a big victory in their efforts to avoid being suspended by the National Football League KSTP-TV in Minneapolis is reporting that Judge Gary Larson has issued a temporary restraining order against the NFL. That means, for now, that Williams and Williams should be allowed to play Sunday. The Williamses said they were heading straight from the courthouse to the Vikings’ practice facility. However, this is far from over. KSTP reports that another hearing is expected in the next fe…

  2. First score of the game on 2nd drive (a FG by Barth) , all Cohen so far who looks amazing. Glennon with all short passes, 4-5 for 10 yards and his incompletion was thrown right at a defender for a near interception. After two drives against Cards #1 offense, the defense has been solid forcing two punts. Some nice pressure from the front 7.

If a player decides to hold out a entire season, what is his status the following season? Does he still owe the team work for the previous year? Does it matter how many years of service? Also does it matter if it's the final year of a contract? Gurus needed!:

He gone . . . Would have liked to see a draft pick, but no one else wanted the price tag. I say good luck to him and hope he doesn't go to a team in our division. http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/nfl/news/story?id=5047383

Maybe I should setup a poll but I'm just curious if anyone else (besides me) would trade Cohen? He's not a RB and he's good as a slot WR but doesn't really offer the deep threat we need. He is one of the best PR in the league so that has value. It's a deep WR draft so I'm not sure any teams would bite but then again he's a proven commodity which is a big deal as compared to any day 3 draftee. Plus he's relatively cheap at $2mil for the year. That said if we do draft a player like Reagor or Aiyuk who can both do the PR duties when/where does Cohen earn snaps? We're still hanging onto Patterson as the trick play guy and he's better at that than Cohen is. We cou…

Just thinking outside the box here. There are a few teams that may want to jump into the QB sweepstakes at #11. Teams that could need QBs: Browns - Will draft QB at #2 Cowboys - May draft QB at #4 Niners - #7 Eagles - #13 (recent 2yr deal with Bradford) Rams - #15 Texans - #22 Chiefs - #28 (maybe) Broncos - #31 (maybe) So let's say only the Browns pick a QB at #2. The Bears #11 is worth 1250. The prime target here is the Rams. They have the two picks in the 2nd round worth 920. If they also threw in their 3rd (210), that would be a decent compromise. The Bears lose in the points, but the compromise is pretty good for the value. In thi…

I think this would take my disliking Pace to hating him. With that said, what do you think Bennett could draw in trade? A 3rd like Greg Olsen?

There are 4 highlight videos on youtube, 1 for each day of camp ( is the first), and 4 commentary videos by the guy who taped the highlights. The highlight videos should be checked out by everyone on the board, very good quality and truly worth it. The commentary is pretty cool too since it gives a first hand account from a guy who was watching it live. The videos show several nice passes from Rex and Kyle. Benett, R.Davis, K. Davis, and Hass had some very nice catches too. The stuff that didn't make the highlights is what we need to rely on the director for. By all appearances he seems pretty unbiased and so far he thinks Rex is pulling away in the QB battle. A…

  10. CARDINALS SHOPPING BOLDIN Posted by Mike Florio on March 12, 2009, 3:59 p.m. Kurt Warner might get to keep his $2 million, after all. A league source tells us that the Arizona Cardinals are shopping receiver Anquan Boldin to potential trade partners. Warner recently has suggested that hed devote a portion of his salary to signing Boldin to a new contract. (We dont think Warner really means it.) Boldin, a six-year veteran, is signed through 2010. He has wanted for roughly a year a significant increase from his current range of $2.5 million to $3 million. With teammate Larry Fitzgerald at $10 million per year, Boldin is believed to want at least…

  13. SF at 5-7 is favored by 3.5 pts at home. They are playing after a SUN Night game in the snow in BUF, while the Bears are coming off their mini bye at Thanksgiving. SF has lost 3 straight and have been outscored 73-20 in their last two games. McCaffrey looks to be out for the year, so it will be interesting to see how they respond. With the Bears, it will all come down to how the team responds to Brown as the HC. The talent is there as they have been in every game this year outside of the ARZ game. Otherwise, they had a chance to win any one of the other 7 losses. They could've easily beat 3 of the top 10 teams in the league over the past 3 weeks. EPA/PLAY: …

  15. Here we go! Another division game and a chance to go to 8-3 with a few extra days of rest after Thursday's game. Detroit is decimated with injuries and will more than likely be without Kerryon Johnson and Marvin Jones. They already traded Tate, so they will literally have two receiving threats, Golladay and Riddick. No other player has more than 12 receptions or 100 yards receiving. There leading rusher will be Blount (who I believed burned us a few years ago). Payback is a bitch. Sweeping the Lions in the season series on Thanksgiving would be sweet. I heard this is the quickest two-game span in NFL history (from the end of the Sunday night game until kickoff…

Just reading the Trib and they are saying Angelo doesn't act like he'll sign another o-lineman. If he was going to do that, wouldn't he have done it already? The Bears have not shown interest in signing a guard. We made offers to Colon & the LT from NO. No guards. Does this mean we're happy with Chris Williams at Guard? Unless something changes real quick, here's what we'll have: LT: The bad Frank Omiyale or rookie Carimi. Most experts project Carimi better suited to play RT. LG: The bad Chris Williams or the bad Lance Louis. C: Spencer: Most consider him worse then Kreutz. RG: Roberto Garza: I hope his age doesn't start to show RT: J W…

  18. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...SPT-bear20.stng Bears get injury protection from Mike Brown deal Injury history cuts safety's '08 base salary to $950K May 20, 2008 BY BRAD BIGGS bbiggs@suntimes.com It's debatable whether the Bears have protection on the roster in the event veteran safety Mike Brown is injured again. There is no question, however, that the team has some protection in terms of finances after reworking Brown's contract. Brown has missed 43 regular-season games over the last four seasons -- including 15 last year after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in the opener at San Diego -- and will hav…

  19. While some are not sure about drafting a DT early 3rd, I think it worth pointing out that, other than maybe Michael Johnson, I think any of the players many here wanted w/ that early 3rd are still on the board. The way this is going, I think one or more of the WRs we might have liked (Iglesias, Murphy, Barden, etc) will still be there at the end of round 3. Also, several OL (Duke, Merideth) are still there. Sidbury is still on the board. Gilbert was not going to last much longer, but others we may want look like they will. Plus, if we want (for example) a WR and a run begins, we have the ammo to move up and get one.
