Harbaugh/Ravens still whining about draft day no-trade
madlithuanian replied to madlithuanian's topic in Bearstalk
Sure...but since it didn't go down that way, I sure as hell could care less. And I actually think we'd all be more pissed at JA f-ing it up trusting the Ravens than being pissed at the Ravens! We're ass-clowns already...we didn't need to screw up a trade to get that title. The (lack of) brain trust earned that years ago -

What will free angency look like for the Bears?

If I recall, he's a pretty fast guy. Could be a good Smith fit... -

Thanks. I seem to get the impression that we should be able to sign Olin and others...and still have room to make either one gigantic splash or 2 decent sized spashes in FA. I'll put the kool-aid down now...

I've heard on ESPN that the new cap will be 120M. Does anyone know what impact that'll have on us? Where are we right now? Also, does anyone have any news on what the floor may be? I know this is all a bit premature. But, I'm just kind of curious...

Hester, Harris advocate Bears sign Santana Moss
madlithuanian replied to balta1701-A's topic in Bearstalk
I just htink too much is made of the greatest show on turf compared to what we have...we don't have that line-up to perform like that. We don't have a Warner, Faulk, OL, and WR crops to pull that off. He needs to adjust to our personnell. And that requires having a big body WR that Cutler can count on when he's running for his life. -

I'd much rather have a number of other guys instead of another short dude. But, I'd take him over nothing at all. -

Good... We need the OL help. ...and we need a legit WR. -
He seems like an a-hole. But, he kicks ass. If he can work in the scheme, I'd have no problem giving him a shot. I just wouldn't pay a lot for his services. I'd rather pay money to a big (size) WR w/ experience.

I'm an addict. I buy every one every year. However, I do think that the play over the past couple years really hasn't improved. I always eagerly await the next. So, hopefully, it'll be a good improvement this year!

Throw off his back foot too often... But all kidding aside, I agree. He has been nothing but a model citizen on and off the field. Perceptions aren't doing him any good, and he's responsibile for most of that. But, like Jimmy Mac...he doesn't give a flying f&^k. Neither do I. I like the guy as a ballplayer and a man. I have some real cautious optimism for this upcoming season for Cutler.

I still contend he was an idiot regardless.

Hypothetically speaking, or maybe not so much... I kind of think this is a good thing. It may also be for many QB's in the league. But, for some reason, I see this practicing on one's own as a real potential to learn a "system" better and truly get on the same page w/ teammates. It onlyis the case if everyone takes it seriously. but assuming they are, I think this kind of practicing can be very beneficial. We may find that Cutler and others, due to this, can get one the same page when Martz's pre-planned strategy goes to the way-side due to a pass rush. I'll put the kool aid down now...

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/...ears-teammates/ http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/nfl/news/story?id=6658257 Source: Andy Fantuz impressing BearsEmail Print Comments53 By Jeff Dickerson ESPNChicago.com Archive CHICAGO -- With so much attention given to which veteran wide receiver the Chicago Bears should target once the NFL lockout ends and free agency begins, one new receiver already under contract is working to establish a rapport with his new teammates. More From ESPNChicago.com Can't get enough Bears information? ESPNChicago.com has all the latest on the Monsters of the Midway. Blog Former CFL standout Andy Fantuz, who signed a reserve/futures contract with the Bears on Feb. 4, 2011, participated last week in the Bears unofficial offseason workouts led by quarterback Jay Cutler, according to an NFL source. Fantuz, who caught 276 passes for 4,136 yards and 23 touchdowns the last five seasons with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, drew considerable praise from a few players in attendance at the workouts. Granted, Cutler and fellow quarterback Caleb Hanie are throwing passes without any defenders present, but Fantuz was said to display impressive athletic ability and good hands while running routes. The 6-foot-4, 220-pound Fantuz hauled in 87 passes for 1,380 yards and six touchdowns in 2010. With the departure of Devin Aromashodu, who failed to receive a restricted free agent tender from the Bears, and the unrestricted free agent status of veteran Rashied Davis, the team will likely have an opening for at least one new wideout to challenge for playing time in 2011. While the Bears certainly won't rule out using free agency to further address that need, Fantuz should be given a legitimate opportunity to win a roster spot when/if training camp opens next month. Jeff Dickerson covers the Bears for ESPNChicago.com and ESPN 1000.

Meh... Probably. But, all I care is that the '85 Bears are right where they should be! The top!
