Exactly! This really reeks of a "bend, don't break" philosophy. Except, it broke a few times... The goal line stand kind of made me see that it's not our personnell. When limited to "just stop them", the D responded. But when playing within the scheme of the DC...all of a sudden, this D doesn't look so elite.

I saw them play Minny in person last year in the bay area, and the D looked pretty good. And as much as we all know both fantasy and pre-season rankings,stats can be mis-leading... I just want to temper my excitement a little. Kind of like how many people tempered Hanie's performances... We need to take all this with a grain of salt. But, as I mentioned, when given the opportunity, they made the most of it and the O looked good. That's all we can ask for. I basically have cautious optimism. PS - Why the Samurai Mike hate? Did I miss something?

Not to squelch the fire...but as I'm in the fantasy league this evening, most tankings have the SF D as dirt bottom #32... I do like their LB corps, but I'm honestly not sure exactly how good they really are. Regardless, the O did what they had to and looked exceptional.

Yeah...bottom line, Orton looked poised. He audibled well and looked in control. It was really nice to see.

Other than the goal line stand, the D was hideous. Tillman especially got worked like a fool.

Yeah, I honestly couldn't be happier with the O's performance tonight. It all really clicked. The D just looked awful... I hope it's "just pre-season"...but dang if the firing of Chico and promotion of Babich just leaves me concerned.

C'mon Cracker. Is that kind of talk really called for? We're a frustrated fan base... I think you confuse opposing how your team is doing something as dis-loyalty. It isn't all or nothing. I think we all support the Bears every Sunday like no tomorrow. However, some of us are just more skeptical than others. I really don't think anyone is wishing ill on any player coach etc just to say "I told you so..." Maybe I'm a pollyanna on this. I'm sorry if you don't like the negativity or how some of us may make an apology... But we're only voicing opinons. Contrary to your tactics, this site thankfully won't turn into the Cracker blog no matter how hard you try!

Well, the pieces are in place from last season...and they did sweep us. They have a pretty darn awesome offensive line. Opens holes for Peterson and allows Jackson more time in the pocket. WHile Jackson's not very good, if you give any pro time, he'll make throws. I don't anyone would doubt that their D is good. We can argue how good, but it's good.

My hope is that the organization will make some big splashes next season. Granted, we've not seen much in the past in that regard, but I've got my fingers crossed.

My biggest reason for liking him is his killer instinct. He is just intense out there. And it's really good to see! He reminds me of Mongo in attitude. I htink that's sorely missing on this team. (Probalby due to Lovie's demeanor...)

I feel your pain... However, while I think this season will be hard...There are cetainly some bright spots for the upcoming seasons. I just hope we can get something going on O, and become more adaptable on D.

The reality is the other guy lining up next to him with similar stats is making 4 times as much. We can all debate the sanctity of a contrct,etc...but I fully understand why Boldin is not happy.

Not so much on the D side... Bazuin's the biggest disappointment in recent memory. Dusty's been injury prone, but I wouldn't call him a bust.

I don't see why not, unless someone knows something about the IR rules that I don't... But...given what we've all (not) seen from Bazuin...I wouldn't be surprised to see him jetisonned...
