  1. Both the one on Ditka and Payton were pretty cool. Still have them on the DVR to watch over and over again.
  2. Never a game watching our team that I do not say, "Payton Up And Over The Top" is what we need. It is so sad that he is gone for so long already. So miss watching Payton and hearing about what he has been up to always. I only wear Payton jerseys to watch the games.
  3. That is just so sad. Condolences to the entire Kramer family.
  4. We do not know all the details of what is happening however, Harris did come out of training camp as the starter and then got injured. If he was not 100% then you keep him off the field. I think the game at Detroit was a total let down by the entire team and you can't blame someone alone for the entire collapse by the team. I do not think that Harris is 100% healthy and it seems that they are making him a scape goat because he speaks his mind on the situation at hand for him. He may have lost a step due to the hamstring however, give the man his due and don't be disrespectful to him.
  5. It just goes to show how Bush League this team is becoming. According to what I just read on the Trib's website Harris confirmed he has been released. Not a good way to show respect for a player. To jerk his chain as they have this season and just flat out release him angers me and proves to me how screwed up this franchise is becoming. So what if he was not the player he once once, be respectful in your dealings with the player. Seems the same thing happened with Kruetz, just unceremoniously get rid of the player in the worst possible way. I sure hope that George McCaskey is seeing how Ted Philips and Jerry Angelo are running his grandfather's team and decides to make a change that hopefully will be for the good. Such disrespect should not be tolerated.
  6. Since when does this defense not give up huge plays. 77 touchdown pass to Megatron and now an 88 yard TD run by Best. Are they freakin serious when each week the commentators say that the Bears do not give up to many big plays. Two huge scoring plays tonight and the defense is supposedly rested. Ted Philips, Jerry Angelo and Lovie Smith all need to be canned and the sooner the better. This is turning out just as I suspected, into another embarrassment on National TV and we have Minnesota at home on Sunday night. Do you think that Leslie Frazier will not have his squad prepared to embarrass his former team as well? Hell, we got lucky against Carolina. This is ugly and will only get worse I believe.
  7. I just hope that the O-Line is able to keep up to provide holes for Forte to run through. It was a decent game even though Carolina beat us in every statistical category. The only difference was on the scoreboard. Glad we got a victory going into a very difficult Monday night game at Detroit next week.
  8. Third on this from me as well.
  9. It just seems that the media is starting to talk once again about things that we all have been talking about here on the board. The sooner the the McCaskey family realizes that Ted Philips was not the right person to put in charge of this team and we find someone a bit more competent in evaluating and selecting talent. Unfortunately I do not believe that is ever going to happen. We may get lucky if the team falls short of the playoffs or continues to get whipped when they should win however, it will only be Lovie Smith for sure and hopefully Jerry Angelo. Ted Philips I am afraid will be here until he retires or dies, which ever comes first.
  10. Problem is that Smith and Angelo both feel that our wide receivers are good enough to do what we need. I just do not understand how these people still have jobs. We lack a true #1 and #2 receiver. We are working well with Slot receivers at best working on being #1s and it just is not cutting it. Do not tell me that Williams is a #1 and with Bennett being injured in N.O. last week, we'll never see if he could be a true legitimate #1 or #2. I know Cutler liked Bennett a lot his senior year at Vandy however, that was then and this is now. We need help and receivers who do not drop balls and run complete routes.
  11. Fox just showed the play calling for the first half by Martz and it is a frightening 17 passes to 6 run plays. That is disgusting to see. They talk about firing him at the bye week, fire his ass now so that Cutler may live to play another day. Plus don't stop there, fire Smith, Angelo and Philips as well.
  12. Watching the play in the first half where Cutler threw a pick, did anyone else notice that it appeared that Williams gave up on the play after making his move on the Cheese Head DB as Cutler threw the ball? Seems to me that if Williams was our best option available to pick up then he should be doing anything and everything he is able to in order to re-establish himself as a top-level (I use that lightly) receiver. Right now it seems that he is a waste of money as he has struggled with a groin injury and plays like the pick shows that he is really not into what needs to be as a player in the NFL.
  13. The soon the Family comes to their senses and cans this dumb F^*K the better off we'll be. He may made a small stride once in a blue moon however, to many other decisions he continues to make, kill this team. I have said it before and I'll say it again, we got lucky as hell last year and a Super Bowl Caliber team or at least a playoff contender with a franchise quarterback will destroy this team. Brees last weekend and oh by the way Aaron Rodgers who is currently I believe 5-1 comes into town once again to feast on this team. I say that besides Jack Ass, that little Teddy Philips needs to be sh^t canned as well. The soon the better. And I do not believe that little Georgie (named after I am guessing either his grandfather or uncle) really understands how to run this franchise as well. The family really needs a true shot of new management and blood running this organization and until that happens, we're all screwed.
  14. Great as usual Noots. I would also light up Briggs on the quick dink that he bit on the inside pass and was fake out of his shoes and the Saints scored again. He made what appeared to be a half hearted effort to block the pass that was beyond his reach. Did not look like a Pro Bowl caliber linebacker on that play.
  15. There were many problems today and I totally agree it seems that Martz refused to make any major adjustments at half time. Davis missed a key block at one point that led to a sack, the line itself struggled all day, losing Bennett is going to be huge and without Williams or Barber, who knows how bad this may become. Not sure why it was so much worse this week compared to last week however, to me it would come down to coaching and I am still not convinced we have the right coach. We got lucky as hell last year and were exposed in each of the losses even against the Cheese Heads. Defensively to give up that one big play definitely killed anything and not being able to get a rush up front made things even worse. Brees is a good quarterback and Super Bowl MVP yet we got to Matt Ryan last week and we have Aaron Rodgers coming in next. The season is going to rough it appears and we can only hope for the best.
  16. I have been at the UC and recorded the anthem on my camera to always listen to it. I was able to feel the excitement and energy building to an amazing level and wish there would be a way to have Cornelison do the anthem at all the home games of the teams in our City. It is so special. I remember last hockey season there was some clown reporter in Detroit of all places giving we the people of Chicago a hard time about being so vocal during the anthem. It was best said by Medal of Honor Recipient Salvatore Giunta that the feeling he received while attending a Blackhawks game and being part of the ceremony of the anthem was that Giunta was blown away at the passion the fans showed to Giunta and the patriotism that the fans showed for the U.S. From a blog posting, here is what Giunta said, "To Be Able To Stand On The Ice And Hear The Reaction Of The Crowd And Feel The Rumble And See The American Flag Waving In All Of Its Glory At The Top Of The Stadium Was Truly Incredible." That to me speaks volume like nothing else ever will and this should be extended to all of the teams in Chicago.
  17. I vaguely remember this and it is still pretty bad.
  18. I agree Connor however, still will preach it. lol
  19. Great article and happy for the player as well. Nice to see someone from home being that successful. Sorry he plays for the hated ones however, his accomplishments are impressive.
  20. I am in agreement on this as well. Bring him in for a workout and see what he may still have left in the tank. If Burress shows enough there, sign him to an incentive contract as previously stated. Problem is that it will not happen because Angelo and Smith are so in love with our receiving corps that WR will be ignored once again. It is one thing I continue to preach, every player should be signed to some sort of incentive contract and if they do not perform then the team should have the ability to cut the player. Prove yourself to earn your money just like everyone else outside the sports world has to.
  21. I am glad that the Colonel is finally enshrined in the HofF. My picture that is my profile pic has since been signed and hangs proudly on my wall in my basement with my other Chicago Bears Memorabilia. Congrats to the Colonel on this accomplishment.
  22. I agree with everyone says that we should not be in a hurry to extend Smith or the rest of his coaching staff. Granted Smith has a winning record as our head coach however, still has not completely proven that he is able to motivate his team, makes poor decisions at times and may truthfully not be the right one to lead this team forward. I also do not think that Angelo is the right guy as our GM nor Ted Philips as the President of the team for that matter. Right now this is what we are all stuck with because no one within the organization listens to the fans. Yes it appears that the team improved this past season however, if anyone asked me back at the start of the season if the Bears would be in NFC Championship let alone host it, I would have laughed in their faces. Let's see what happens with the CBA and whether or not there is a season come the Fall of 2011. Right now that is the hottest topic out there and until there is a resolution to the CBA, there will not be football in the fore see able future. If there is football and this team some how gets even better on offense and age does not kill our defense, then we'll have something to consider towards coach extensions.
