  1. Mad Lith, I like what you have to say and have learned as I have watched things through out today that this may not have all been Cutler's fault. FOX did not do a good job with getting the right information out to the broadcasters. The Bears themselves did not handle the situation right in reporting that there was a chance that Cutler might be back versus stating that he definitely was done for the day. Many things happen for a reason and I agree that Cutler has improved from last season to this with a line that still is getting him killed. The only issue I have that a lot of people are expressing are his mannerisms that he exudes. The thing as well and until I heard his press interview in the locker room that the doctors or trainers did tape his knee and it was a no go at that point, the thing getting everyone myself included was the lack of information. Jay is definitely better than anyone since Jimmy Mac and still has the potential to be a great one. I just wish as you stated that JA would get off his arse and find linemen who will better protect this investment. I read somewhere that Tice should tell all the offensive linemen that come training camp in 2011 that all positions are up for grabs and those who definitely play the best will deserve to start. I just hate losing as I am sure that most of the people here, to the Cheese Heads. There is nothing worse than the Cheese Heads getting the trophy named in honor of the man who got the NFL off and running and it is even worse that they obtained it by defeating us. I still think that the NFL should have named the Super Bowl Trophy for Papa Bear however, that is another thread for another time.
  2. I am heading to Vegas to watch the game with my friends who now all live in SoCal and will be strictly watching the commercials. There is just no way in freakin' HELL that I would ever root for the Cheese Heads no matter what. I am still shocked at how Da' Bears got to where they did this season however, to not play a full game against your number one rival is disheartening. Smith seemed lost at times, Martz should be shot for some of the play calling and the defense started off far to weak. We'll see what happens to improve this off season however, not to excited at this point and time.
  3. Totally agree with everyone here. Cutler proved what my family and friends who are Bronco fans have complained about and the so called experts talked about in the pre-game. Cutler just gave up like a big puss dog and the coaches made a huge mistake with the Never Was QB. Hanie made it a game at the end. Better season than I ever expected though.
  4. Yet until he got injured, Hanie was the Number 2. Either Martz is an total bafoon, or Smith is for thinking Collins is worth a damn. Oh wait, Angelo is the one who brought in the Never Was QB to supposedly make a difference for this team. FIRE THEM ALL!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Now going with that never was Todd Collins over Calib Hanie is just plain freakin stupid as can be. You want any chance of winning the game that your defense has some how kept us in the game, DO NOT EVER PUT IN A NEVER WAS WHO HAS NO QB RATING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Watching the Blackhawks versus the Flyers first until kick-off and then maybe moving down to the Sports Memorabilia Room for Da' Game of the Century!!!! BEAR DOWN!!!!!! Even the wife who is from Toledo OH is decked out in her replica Urlacher jersey.
  7. Like I said in another thread, if Lovie Smith wants to bring in former players I would definitely want Butkus and Ditka there to help get this team even more fired up then they should already be. I hope that the defense some how gets the anger that Butkus used to work himself into and that the offense gets some of Da' Coach's intensity from his playing days and that this team comes out ready to kick some Cheese Head a$$*$. It is hard to believe at one time I was able to like that team up in Cheese Head land. No more and it is time to send that damn team packing and home for the weekend of February 6, 2011. This team needs to learn and understand what it means to Bear Down against our hated rival. Anything short of a victory in this game should get Smith and Angelo fired. This team needs to show up and play and win this game. My thought is similar to the last two games this season in score with Da' Bears winning a close one by field goal. I could see this being 13-10 or 17-14.
  8. The thing that pisses me off most about the match up is that the NFL did not make this the Prime Time Match Up for the League Championship weekend. The oldest and most storied rivalry in the NFL is the NFC Championship Game and is going to be played at 2:00 pm CST instead of 7:00 pm CDT. What makes them think that America deserves to have Pittsburgh hosting the New York Jets as the later game. The NFL and FOX could have hyped this up like no other game and would have gotten a huge rating for Sunday night. That is the only negative to this weekend at this point.
  9. I just read on a longer version of this story on You Tube where Clay Matthews III stops and signs for her. The woman advises that Rodgers has signed numerous things for her and the week previous had signed something. The lady is shocked at the negative publicity Rodgers is receiving for his apparent snub. Not sure what truthfully happened however, I think we are only getting the media version of the story and not the whole story of what happened.
  10. I look at this in two distinct ways. First and foremost this is the song for our Country that we have all learned and expect are various events that we attend. It stands about who the People of the United States are and shows more about our Freedom that we all enjoy thanks to our military. Second it is a way of basically announcing that the sporting event in particular is about to start and it is time to get ready to support our team. The way things are at the United Center for the Blackhawks has been dissed by media writers from other Cities where the fans do not get as excited. The Blackhawks recently had Salvatore Guinta who is a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army and is the only currently active military personnel who received the highest honor in the military, the Medal of Honor for his heroism in the Afghanistan War was impressed by what took place. SSGT Guinta had chills running up and down his spine at how excited that the Blackhawks, Blackhawks Fans were towards the anthem and the troops who so bravely serve our country. To me this is the best endorsement that we as fans are able to receive for getting even louder than normally we would otherwise during the singing of the National Anthem. I got a thrill out of being at the Blackhawk games that I have attended this year and it made me happy that Jim Cornelison was brought in for the Divisional Playoff Game to sing the Anthem. It must have gotten people more fired up then normal having Cornelison there and hope that Cornelison or another of Chicago's famous singers performs this Sunday as well. The other thing I noticed as well and it sickens me more is that there is, as others have mentioned, more and more people not removing their hats off for the National Anthem. That to me is a lot more disrespectful versus fans getting extra vocal for the National Anthem.
  11. I know that there have been some here that have questioned Peppers value however, this article helps to show just how valuable a pick up Peppers has been for this team. Again we will rise and fall with the play of our defense and having Peppers leading the way up front should help to provide faith for us. I am still amazed that we are 11-5 and had a bye for the playoffs and now the real season gets going tomorrow. Three victories and we'll have the ultimate prize. Here to our team making the most of our chance and I like the defense leading the way.
  12. One more hit I forgot to mention that I watched through binoculars at the game, Singletary's hit on Eric Dickerson in the NFC Championship that lead us to Super Bowl XX. Dickerson was in his usual head down to plow through the line, Singletary met him head on, stood Dickerson straight up and then flattened Dickerson. One of the best plays I watched in person ever.
  13. This is a great thread and hope that some how it is able to be put together. One of my all time favorite hits that Wilbur Marshall administered was his sack of Joe Ferguson in Detroit. I think Ferguson was out before he hit the turf in that game. I also agree with many highlights of Payton at his best to include his many leaps of up and over for the score, anything showing the amazing abilities of Sayers are he is one of a kind and still have not seen anyone in my opinion (and I did not see it live only on replays) that is able to even come close. Any hit that shows Plank and Fencick converging and popping opposing players. I have always said that Doug Plank did not play Free Safety, Plank played Flying Safety and was a brutal hitter on the gridiron. Dave Williams Thanksgiving Day overtime kick-off return that won the game for the Bears. There have been so many mentioned here that I would love to see it some how come together and offered for Bear Fans to purchase and enjoy time and time again.

    Why Do We

Still give attention to that mess from Kiln MS? I am tired of him and the praise that he receives and anything that has to do with his family. I wish to hell that he would just go off into the sunset and never be heard from again. He is worse that Jordan or Magic leaving the NBA and the sooner the freakin East Coast dumb ass media let this idiot go the better off our World will be. Go the F*ck Away loser boy as I do not want to hear of you nor your dumb ass family ever again.
  15. I think to much is being made about Cutler and the way he is. I totally agree with the fact that if he is arrogant and stiffs the media so be it. If Cutler goes out and performs as best that he is able to or may get frustrated when someone does not follow the game plan or play or that the coaches take forever in a day to call what they think is going to work then I am all for Cutler speaking his mind. He is supposed to be a franchise quarterback and as far as I know a franchise quarterback is not supposed to sit back and hope it all goes right. He is supposed to lead his team and let those who do not pull their weight to get their act together. I think at times Cutler attempts to much for what may be in front of him however, I like his effort and hope for the best. The last arrogant quarterback that we had, led us to a Super Bowl victory and people misunderstood him as well especially in the media.
  16. Seems to me that we do still need offensive line help and there were three I saw on this slide show: Matt Light of the Patriots, Jermon Bushrod of the Saints and Tyson Clabo of the Falcons. If Mankins is available and we are able to get at least one or a combination of the four, that would be good. We also need defensive backfield help and it would interesting to watch Antonio Cromartie or Nnamdi Asomugha with Peanut and Chris Harris. We'll have to see how quickly the CBA is resolved and hope that JA does not stick his head up his arse once more after pulling it out with getting Peppers. Yet Taylor and Manumaleuna makes me think that he has already re-inserted his head.
  17. Yes, the Colonel did coach the defensive line. That is what my profile photo is from. It was taken on September 7, 2003 at San Francisco International Airport after Da' Bears got humiliated by the 49ers something like 49-7 on that opening game that season. I was having dinner at a fish restaurant inside the United Airlines security area and watch as the team started walking by. Went out to find Jerry Angelo to read him the riot act and saw the Colonel instead. Bought his dinner and he took a picture with me and my friend as well before boarding the charter back to Chicago.
  18. Mad, I completely agree with you on this. The 2nd half was one of the most frustrating halves of football I have seen. The time out was the game/momentum changer that the Cheese Heads needed. There was also a lot more missed penalties on the TD drive for the Cheese Heads that would have negated the score. I think the NFL is happier that the Cheese Heads are in and there is a slight possibility of the two most storied franchises in the history of the league meeting one more time to settle the NFC. Talk about a possible TV ratings bonanza that FOX would have for that game especially if it is played in Prime Time. Smith should be fired for the time-out call itself. Kills the drive and the entire second half.

    One and Done??

Have to agree with you on that Terra. The game plan on offense in the first half seemed all right and who ever had the brain fart in the 2nd half should be canned.
  20. I truly believe the time-out in the 3rd quarter that the assistant coach was calling initially that Lovie got called was a game changing, momentum changing call that turned this game around. Until that time the defense was spot on and not allowing the Cheese Heads to much. If that time-out does not get called, we are driving for a decent lead in the game and the defense does not go mindless. I hope that we look a lot better in two weeks in our divisional game and some how get the the NFC Championship. Time will tell which team shows up on that game day.
  21. I understand not wanting to get anyone hurt however, it is the freakin Cheese Heads and we have to always beat them no matter what. Let Go Bears!!!!!!
  22. The ViQueens now get to be lead by a Bear. How cool is that? Congrats to Leslie on getting handed the job after the firing of Childress. He most definitely deserves it.
  23. Could have sworn Hester returned the first kick-off ever in a Super Bowl in Super Bowl XLI and was surprised that did not make the highlight unless I missed it. Either way, it is incredible to see all the returns in one highlight video.
  24. To you as well BearsFan1974, Hope that you are safe where you are and Thank you and all your troopmates for everything that you are doing for us. May you all get home to your families soon and very safely. Happy New Year to the rest of the Talk Bears board as well.
