I respect you for your opinion, you are a true Bear Fan and wear your emotions on your sleeve. However, you really do need to respect other's opinions as well. You say you see Justin as a 'turd' (so if we trade him we can only expect a roll of toilet paper in exchange? LOL ) You say we should all see what you are seeing. I totally disagree with your assessment. The kid has Talent. Athleticism. Heart. What he doesn't have is a Offensive Coordinator who can utilize his talents. Who can design a game plan to allow him to shine. To allow "OUR" beloved Bears to be a top ten offense. One more top shelf WR and more help for the OL, and we are going to kick ass (with the right man designing and calling the plays). The 2024 draft has some outstanding prospects for OL & WR. By the end of the year I might feel differently, but for now I am not giving up on Fields.

After watching the game last night with Daniels going 16/24 for 235 yds., 4 TDs and 120 yds. rushing, I am a true believer. LOL. (According the the broadcasters, he averages over 400 total yds. per game, so he had an off night. ? ) I agree that he will climb up the boards and be a top 10 pick. Too many teams needing a QB to ignore a guy who has put up tremendous numbers throughout his career.

Love your take on Fields. Tired of reading his obituaries. Any idea where Daniels is currently being projected in the draft?

I'm watching Oregon play Oregon State now. Anxious to see Bo Nix play. I do not watch a lot of college football but a friend of mine who is an avid fan of same says he thinks Bo Nix is the best QB prospect this year. Any thoughts on this guy?

IMHO, It will be Poles who decides if Fields is our "Franchise" QB, not a new HC who is (possibly) hired to take charge of this team. If Poles decides Fields is our man, he will interview candidates for the HC position to determine if they are 100% in agreement with Fields as the starting QB and (most important) who he would seek as his OC and what he envisions his OC can do to maximize Fields strengths. As far as learning a new system, look at Stroud. Rookie learned a new system quickly while adjusting to the NFL quite easily. Then why is it taking Fields so long to blossom? Look no further than his supporting cast (players but more important his coaches). Put into the right system, with an OC who knows how to use Fields' amazing talent, he will be a top 10 QB (trying to curb my enthusiasm, I actually think he could be a top 5 LOL)

Sucks, but at least we improve our draft position. LOL

I'm sure you are as anxious to get rid of that collar as I was my back brace. I hope you progress rapidly to full health. You are right about keeping a positive attitude. There were times during the past six month my spirits were down. Those times were brutal. It showed in my rehab progress. I still have a lot of rehab left to return 'close' to where I was before the fall. I will remember your advice, stay positive!

Now the Bears have to win one for me. LOL I was just informed by my neurosurgeon that finally, six months after fracturing two vertebrae in my back, I can take off my back brace for good. I still have a ways to go before I can improve my mobility. Still have issues with balance. Need to work on my core muscles. But at long last, I can do neat things like take a shower (bed baths suck) and regain some semblance of normality. GO BEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fantastic! I am sure that the #1 pick in 2014 will bring in a much larger haul than last the one we traded in the 2013 draft. Better QB class, larger number of desperate teams looking for a new QB. I Love it!

Taking a break from the trade Fields talk (which I do not think will happen and I would not want to happen lol) I want to clarify if I am correct in this: Even if the Panthers were to win another game, and join ARI, NEP & NYG with 2 wins, Carolina would still hold the number one pick (well, the Bears would) because they have a weaker SOS than ARI, NEP & NYG. Correct?

Exactly, so they should have been grateful we helped them out and rewarded us by beating Carolina. LOL

In addition to QB K Murray returning to play against Atlanta, RB James Conner also suits up and is expected to start. Good news for the Bears. Just think, if Houston hadn't screwed the pooch and let the Panthers beat them, Carolina would be 0-9 and with basically a 2 game cushion for the #1 draft pick.

Are we really sure Bagent's loss of confidence is a result of coaching, or is it possible this young man has found the NFL far more intimidating than the teams he played against for 5 years prior to going undrafted, teams that were not much more talented than top level high school programs? Hey, I love the kid, and hope he has a long career in the NFL. However, I see him as a career backup QB and not as a full-time starter.

I have never had a dislocated thumb. Never was a QB. However, it is taking longer than I would have expected for Fields to become "game ready." Does anyone have experience in this area? Is he a very slow healer or is this timeframe normal for this type of injury to a QB's throwing hand?

I just read on NFL.com that K Murray is indeed starting this week against Atlanta. Let's hope he is able to get Arizona a few wins to help our chances that Carolina's pick is #1.

This frees up the franchise tag to use if he refuses to sign a reasonable contract. Give him an incentive laden contract and make him earn the difference between what Poles is offering and what he "THINKS" he is worth. Maybe 17 M + 1 M is he makes 1st ballot pro bowl, 2 M if he makes 1st ballot all pro. I think he would fall short of both, but if he earned those incentives, he would deserve the $$$.

Top 5 as a pass rusher off the edge? No, IMO. Although he is just entering his prime. However, I feel if you take everything into consideration ((Sacks, Hits, Pressures, TFL, Run Defense, Locker room presence, Durability (only missing 6 games in 4 yrs due to a broken jaw), etc...)) he could be a top 5. We knew he'd be an expensive player to extend. No way we could allow him to leave after this year after giving up a 2nd round pick. Eventually we have to pay blue chip players if we ever want to assemble a lineup that not only looks good on paper, but produces on the field.

My wish is that Fields "EARNS" the role of starting QB for the foreseeable future. I hope he rocks when he returns to the lineup. That said, if indeed he is our future, I don't want to see him have to learn another offensive system. If Flus goes, then the entire coaching staff exits, then a new offense playbook is implemented. I don't want to go there.

I had to chuckle when, in an interview, JJ claimed to be the best CB in the NFL therefore deserved to be paid accordingly. I agree with you killa... 13-15 per would be in line, anything more, not a chance in hell.

Not one to follow FSB closely (usually just ND games or a top 10 on occasion) does anyone know of a blue chip 3T that the Bears should target in the 2024 draft??
