Zachary Thomas, San Diego State - OT with or first 6th rounder
-
Poles swears he wants to draft players who love FB and has good character. So if Braxton fits that mold, there will be no trouble for him to get stronger with the Bears' trainers in the weight room.
-
Wow, That is an encouraging write up. Let's hope he is THAT good!
-
Then in the fifth we get an edge rusher Dominique Robinson from Miami Ohio
-
Well, we finally get an OT - Braxton Jones, from So. Utah
-
I hate to admit it, but GB is having an A+ draft.
-
I agree. Poles took over a team with a ton of needs. He was given very little CAP $$$ and and limited picks for the draft. Poles is on a tight budget in FA & the Draft for year one. This is going to take time.
-
GMFB on NFL Network just mentioned 9 OL drafted in round 1 was most since 1968. Then there was a crazy run on WR in round 1 along with MN trade to GB to start off Rd 2 With all of this said, I can see why Poles had to do some fancy dance moves.
-
Gez, the guy is listed for the 40 @ 4.31 I'm guessing his speed and return skills set him apart from others available

We aren't finished with the draft, will sign UFA after, and will still look to sign players in FA after the draft. Our offense improved the minute our offensive genius was fired and replaced. I'm not about to panic. Assuming the CB and S become solid starters, I'm happy with the picks. Both were big needs.
-
CB was a big need. Our coverage sucked last year. If Poles felt that he was BPA for a Need, sign me up.
-
I personally think Olave will be awesome, and feared he would wind up in GB and haunt us. Thank You New Orleans Saints! Now I could care less how he performs (except when he lines up against us).. This is a FAST round one!
-
I've watched this draft every year since it was first telecast back in the 80's. For the first few years I had to request time off from work to avoid missing it. Then starting '86 I became self employed so there was no scheduling problems, LOL - Now, being retired and bored out of my mind, this is a real treat.
-
There is always wild mock drafts posted - many so unrealistic they're laughable One site had their staff offer their take on the possibility of Poles trading up into the upper 1st rd to get Chris Olave (Can't find the damn site but it had a dozen different scenarios.) As much as I would cream my pants if we were able to have Fields reunited with Chris Olave, would any of you like the idea if Poles found a way to pull it off? Some of the trades mentioned were very tempting. (Iwill try to find the article again.) Bears Mock Draft Scenario: Justin Fields reunites with a Buckeye WR

I'm Skeptical. I did some research and found: So 15 million a year and what did he do for Carolina in 2021: Now, do I want to pay someone 15 million a year for that? In his defense, the QB situation in Carolina really sucked last year. SO, I'm more inline with Connor. A 6th or 7th rounder is a safe gamble.

I agree, unless Pringle has a history of off-field issues, I see no reason to crucify him for a lapse of good judgement.
-
I hope Lynch does as I suspect he will, and demand a huge compensation package in trade. If the Packers had to give up, let's say, a first and a third round pick in this years draft in addition to having to deal with Deebo's salary demands, I can't believe they go for the trade. On second thought, it would be such a dumb move on GB's part, I hope the 49ers hose the Pack. ;-)

Like many have expressed, unless address in FA pickups prior to the draft, my concerns are in three areas, OG/OT - CB/S - WR I know BPA is a solid theory in drafting & building a team, but unless we protect Fields, the kid will never be able to show his true potential. Once protected, Fields needs a set of reliable targets to throw to. Then on defense, my main concern is our DBs. Opposing QBs loved playing against us last year. Our coverage sucked. So to answer your question, I'd take a pass on an edge rusher, or any other position, unless we first address the 3 areas I mentioned.
-
I agree. Unfortunately, Eddie, over the last two years, has not shown the "M&M Mentality" that our GM & HC has been seeking when establishing our roster. It will be interesting to see if Eddie responds or gets left behind.
-
I'm anxious to find out what the Bills plan to do in regards to Ryan Bates. They have until March 29 to announce their intentions but I have to believe they already know the direction the plan to go.

I agree 100%. I loved the idea of Polian being called upon to act as an advisor. I was confident he had not lost touch with current trends, players, or schemes. That he would offer sound advice. The only question I had was would George LISTEN and ACCEPT Polian's advice and recommendations. It certainly appears he did. I am excited to see what our roster looks like by the time the season starts. I'm sure we are in for some major surprises over the next 5 months.

The Miami Dolphins just traded for Hill. Totally INSANE! Terms of the new trade to the Dolphins I hope Poles is smart enough to avoid these type of trades. Sure, Hill is a special talent, but this is insane!

Bears sign Pringle (From Chiefs) and ST. Brown (from Packers)
Pixote replied to DABEARSDABOMB's topic in Bearstalk
I wasn't all that impressed by this signing when it was announced. However, I never really paid attention to Pringle during the KC games I viewed (assuming he played in the few I watched). I must say that I'm impressed by what I see in the video. Thanks for posting it for us to view. -
Now I see on ESPN that T. Cohen has been released. What was his cap figure? I just saw an article on Bearswire/usatoday that answered my question:
