  1. I agree, unless Pringle has a history of off-field issues, I see no reason to crucify him for a lapse of good judgement.
  2. I hope Lynch does as I suspect he will, and demand a huge compensation package in trade. If the Packers had to give up, let's say, a first and a third round pick in this years draft in addition to having to deal with Deebo's salary demands, I can't believe they go for the trade. On second thought, it would be such a dumb move on GB's part, I hope the 49ers hose the Pack. ;-)
  3. Like many have expressed, unless address in FA pickups prior to the draft, my concerns are in three areas, OG/OT - CB/S - WR I know BPA is a solid theory in drafting & building a team, but unless we protect Fields, the kid will never be able to show his true potential. Once protected, Fields needs a set of reliable targets to throw to. Then on defense, my main concern is our DBs. Opposing QBs loved playing against us last year. Our coverage sucked. So to answer your question, I'd take a pass on an edge rusher, or any other position, unless we first address the 3 areas I mentioned.
  4. I agree. Unfortunately, Eddie, over the last two years, has not shown the "M&M Mentality" that our GM & HC has been seeking when establishing our roster. It will be interesting to see if Eddie responds or gets left behind.
  5. I'm anxious to find out what the Bills plan to do in regards to Ryan Bates. They have until March 29 to announce their intentions but I have to believe they already know the direction the plan to go.
  6. I agree 100%. I loved the idea of Polian being called upon to act as an advisor. I was confident he had not lost touch with current trends, players, or schemes. That he would offer sound advice. The only question I had was would George LISTEN and ACCEPT Polian's advice and recommendations. It certainly appears he did. I am excited to see what our roster looks like by the time the season starts. I'm sure we are in for some major surprises over the next 5 months.
  7. The Miami Dolphins just traded for Hill. Totally INSANE! Terms of the new trade to the Dolphins I hope Poles is smart enough to avoid these type of trades. Sure, Hill is a special talent, but this is insane!
  8. I wasn't all that impressed by this signing when it was announced. However, I never really paid attention to Pringle during the KC games I viewed (assuming he played in the few I watched). I must say that I'm impressed by what I see in the video. Thanks for posting it for us to view.
  9. Now I see on ESPN that T. Cohen has been released. What was his cap figure? I just saw an article on Bearswire/usatoday that answered my question:
  10. I don't get it, maybe I'm dense. LOL Many of us wanted Daboll as HC because of his experience in developing Allen who has similar skill sets as Fields. So we get a DC as our new HC, with the idea of having someone as an OC to make sure Fields reaches his potential. Now we're talking about Getsy as OC? Does he even have experience calling plays? Is he qualified to develop Fields?
  11. After reading this article I am impressed. His connections & experience with Lovie Smith, Rod Marinelli, and Monte Kiffin was a pleasant surprise. It's also interesting that 'Flus' was initially hired by Indy as Josh McDaniels' wish list as DC for his staff, then remained on when Frank Reich was hired. So we replace Ryan & Matt with Ryan & Matt.
  12. Crap! All three are probably good candidates, but not the direction I wanted to go.
  13. I just read that the NYG GM not only is considering Daboll. but Frazier as well. Maybe he goes Frazier! NFL.com article:
  14. I'll be disappointed if I don't see Poles add his guys to the list. I'm sure he must have candidates for the position of HC in mind beyond these three. Anyone interviewing for the position of GM would have an idea of who he'd want to hire.
  15. Like many, I want Daboll as our HC. Unfortunately, I have a gut feeling he will sign with NYG. I'm not enthused with the three candidates coming in for 2nd interviews. I hope Poles is equally unimpressed. I know we were disappointed with Nagy from KC, but Eric Bieniemy has been OC for KC the past four years and has done an outstanding job. I wouldn't mind seeing him come in if Daboll signs elsewhere. I could see Fields in an offense similar to what Mahomes runs. What do you guys think?
  16. I agree 100%. I want Daboll as our HC. But let me play devil's advocate. Many on this forum want a GM hired before a HC, allowing the new GM to have an input into the HC hiring. Daboll, with no assurance from the Bears, may not want to risk passing up on the Giants if they offer him the job after his 2nd interview. So do we try to hire Daboll now before the Giants or wait for the new Bears' GM to be in place?
  17. I think it depends on how close Daboll is with GM Schoen. It might influence him to go to the Giants. I hope not. I really want Daboll in Chicago.
  18. I trust Bill Polian. I'm not concerned that he is too old. I'm 73, so I might be prejudiced. Yes, he's long in the tooth, but I think he's still top shelf.
  19. Heard a possible HC option for NYG was Quinn. He comes from that area, grew up a Giants fan. I'm like the rest of you, praying for Daboll as our next HC I read one article saying Caldwell was a popular option for the Bears??????? Popular with who? I thought he did a bad job in Detroit, which I appreciated, but certainly don't want him as our HC.
  20. I can only dream of Fields playing in an offense designed around him like Josh Allen benefited from tonight. On the other hand, I was not at all impressed with the play calling for New England.
  21. Notice the issues we've had with our salary cap lately? Well, it wasn't Cliff Stein's fault. Ryan Pace decided to hire a buddy from New Orleans, salary cap analyst Joey Laine, and move Cliff Stein to a position of General Counsel. Stupid! Let's hope Stein is put back in charge of our salary cap.
  22. Rick Smith wasn't fired. He took a leave of absence from his position as GM with Houston to spend time with his wife who was fighting breast cancer. Houston eventually had to replace him.
  23. I couldn't have said it better - I agree 100%
  24. If we were talking about Michael McCaskey, damn straight, I would never trust the ass wipe. He constantly interfered with the GM/HC. I honestly do not think George McCaskey interfered with Pace or Nagy. However, I did not like the past structure: George McCaskey --> Ted Phillips --> Ryan Pace --> Matt Nagy Now, Teddy will be concentrating on the new Arlington Property acquisition. I see no reason we need a football guy as a go between. Now it will be George McC --> GM --> HC I am also thrilled Bill Polian will be advising on the hire of the GM & HC I look forward to this off season. I'm optimistic.
