  1. I certainly do not feel our team has to have all "choir boys" playing for us and I would certainly feel Culliver would, if healthy, be an upgrade sorely needed in our CB position, however, this I am concerned over (led to a 1 game suspension)
  2. Bears were unable to pull the trigger on a developmental QB and immediately signed Hoyer as a stop gap solution. I would not be at all surprised that in FA Part 2 they pick up a OT & TE to add to the competition at both positions, the only 2 positions that we all felt needed addressed and yet were not drafted. I think Pace did an excellent job of bringing in some great talent to compete with the Vets for roster positions. However, even with 9 draft picks you can only cover so many "needs". I love the way he is systematically turning this roster over, making us more competitive, better team speed, more play makers, and younger.
  3. I personally think that sometimes 6th & 7th round picks are best used to position yourself in rounds 1 thru 5 for trade ups to improve your chances of getting players you want. ALL draft picks are a crap shoot, but to me rounds 1 thru 5 are the spots where you have the best shot of getting a winner. Many players selected in the 6th and 7th wind up being cut or placed on the practice squad. I realize there are exceptions to this but it is just my opinion.
  4. Is it a surprise to anyone that Brady & the Pats redid his contract so that his base salary in 2016 is 1 Million dollars instead of the previous 9 Million dollars so that if he is suspended for 4 games his loss in salary is now only around 200 K instead of close to 2 Million? I am sure NEP fans love the games that Kraft & Co. are playing. How many different rule violations is this for them? The whole deal is getting to be a mockery.

Wilkerson would certainly look good in a Bears uniform but with the extreme depth in this years draft for the DL wouldn't it be better to draft a rookie (yes I understand, 50/50) to fill that role at a much cheaper price and with no loss of draft picks? I would prefer the Bears use that remaining cap space to get the deal complete with Jefferies NOW.
  6. Good for him, even better for the Bears. Too much $$$ - the Redskins will regret this signing.
  7. I am not saying I like this draft for the Bears. I do find it interesting as it is a recent 7 round draft with selections for the Bears that do not seem rubber stamped from the numerous mock drafts that have been posted. Hell, I do not even know half of the players on this list, LOL Reuter mock draft 7.0: Projecting all seven rounds The Bears Projected Selections: RD 1 - Ronnie Stanley - OT, Notre Dame RD 2 - Hunter Henry, TE, Arkansas RD 3 - C.J. Prosise, RB, Notre Dame RD 4 - Yannik Ngakoue, OLB, Maryland RD 4 - Willie Henry, DE, Michigan RD 5 - Cody Kessler, QB, USC RD 6 - Briean Boddy-Calhoun, CB, Minnesota RD 6 - Antwaun Woods, DT, USC RD 7 - Ted Karras, OG, Illinois
  8. I read on NFL.com that some analysts believe that this may catapult Paxton Lynch into the top 10 of the draft whereas before the CLE/PHI trade he was expected to be at the end of the 1st or high in the 2nd round. A lot of interesting things going on. I also read where San Diego was shopping the #3 pick. Crazy stuff.
  9. It appears from what I am reading he could be out for the entire 2016 season, minimum. Recheck on knee - Jaylon Smith This guy may drop big time and be a day 3 selection.
  10. I think this article sums it up pretty good I would take a pass. Love the guy. Would love to see him in our lineup. But IMO too costly, we could have better options.
  11. Had to scratch my head when I saw the article on the Bears' website on the first tweets made by Bears players on Twitter. I assume Massie will acclimate to his new home, LOL
  12. Miller is 31 and will probably continue to have health issues. It is a shame as he certainly is an excellent TE for us when healthy. That being said I do not want to even consider "dumping" Bennett unless we have a lot better group of TEs on our roster than what we have now. Beyond Bennett & Miller the rest of our group are no better than street FAs you can find anywhere, anytime. Yes, Bennett is a pain in the ass at times but every team has one or two (or more) players demanding more money, renegotiate demands. If management does not want to deal with that fine but make damn sure you get some form of compensation for him, min 5th rounder, or use him to sweeten a draft day trade that nets us great value.
  13. Here is a copy and paste I captured on a site with a NFL calendar: March 7-9 - Clubs are permitted to contact, and enter into contract negotiations with the certified agents of players who will become Unrestricted Free Agents upon the expiration of their 2015 Player Contracts at 4:00 p.m., New York time, on March 9. However, a contract cannot be executed with a new club until 4:00 p.m., New York time, on March 9. March 9 - Prior to 4:00 p.m., New York time, clubs must exercise options for 2016 on all players who have option clauses in their 2015 contracts. - Prior to 4:00 p.m., New York time, clubs must submit qualifying offers to their Restricted Free Agents with expiring contracts and to whom they desire to retain a Right of First Refusal/Compensation. - Prior to 4:00 p.m., New York time, clubs must submit a Minimum Salary Tender to retain exclusive negotiating rights to their players with expiring 2015 contracts and who have fewer than three accrued seasons of free agency credit. - Top-51 Begins. All clubs must be under the 2016 salary cap prior to 4:00 p.m., New York time. - All 2015 player contracts expire at 4:00 p.m., New York time. - The 2016 league year and free agency period begins at 4:00 p.m., New York time. - The first day of the 2016 league year will end at 11:59:59 p.m., New York time, on March 9. Clubs will receive a personnel notice that will include all transactions submitted to the league office during the period between 4:00 p.m., New York time, and 11:59:59 p.m., New York time, on March 9. - Trading period for 2016 begins at 4:00 p.m., New York time, after expiration of all 2015 contracts.
  14. I was surprised to see that Miami gave Gase final say in personnel decisions That is something usually reserved for highly successful & experienced Head Coaches.
  15. It appears, to no ones surprise, Adam Gase is a top candidate for a HC spot. If that happens, with the hype given quarterbacks coach Dowell Loggains on their official website, I suspect he will be promoted to OC. Not a bad idea IMO. It would lend itself to a continuation of our current system.
  16. I find it funny that the big knock on Fox as a HC in the past is that he is too conservative and yet when he tries to be aggressive (going for it on 4th down near the end zone) then he is criticized for not playing it safe. Tough loss. I have no doubt in my mind that if Ashlon, Royal & Forte were suited up we win this one easy.
  17. I do not think Jay would have been voted a team captain if indeed the "perception" of the media that Jay is not respected by the team was true. If anything I think this shows the team still has faith in Jay. Time will tell if that faith is misplaced.

    Age comparison

I do not know if this is accurate, but seems like a legit breakdown of the last 3 years for each team average age at time of 53 cut down dates Average age of teams for last 3 years, 2014, 2013 & 2012.
  19. Everyone talks about how great the Dallas OL is. Dallas adds Jordan Mills to their roster.
  20. For Willie & a 3rd, yep, no problem. I question if SEA has a big enough need for Willie to accept the deal. If we could swing it without losing more than a 3rd, sweet, a no brain-er.
  21. I am reading the Seahawks would want two high draft picks and it seems Kam is wanting BIG $$$ for a new contract. As much as I would love to have him on our roster it might be too expensive in draft picks and contract $$$ for a team trying to rebuild
  22. I am guessing it is as stated, going with youth, knowing we are in a rebuilding stage with the new GM, DC, & OC setting up new systems & team chemistry. I have a bad feeling we are in for a lot of injuries, players going to the iR and 1st & 2nd year players stepping in to gain experience and prove they are part of our future. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out. I am expecting more than normal pick ups from team cuts and a further shakeup of our roster before the season kicks off.
  23. No longer a rumor NFL.com Article on Jennings being released.
  24. Man did I but ever tank that one Probably the worst FF Draft I have ever completed Never had issues with my browser & the Yahoo Draft Room before, checked out fine before the draft Was fighting it all the way, freezing up on me, screen went black twice I was so distracted I would have been better going on auto pick Sucks, I usually enjoy the FF drafts, I will have to play the waiver wire to have a chance this year
