  1. If your team cannot beat the top teams in regular season matchups, they don't deserve to be in the playoffs.
  2. I seldom believe all that is reported in practice sessions by the coaching staff. You never hear negatives. Everything is superlative adjectives. Every player sounds like a future hall of famer. A G.O.A.T. That is until it is time to cut the roster down. However, on occasion you hear something that is factual and not subjective. I find this quote from ChicagoBears.com very encouraging in regards to J Fields progress: To me, on his first day working with the team, that's amazing!
  3. ChiliBear, I'm sorry to hear of your loss. I also lost a child, my daughter, who was only 47, just before last Christmas. When I was younger I was foolish to believe people who told me time would help me deal with the loss of my wife. I lost my wife in 1986. She was only 32. Seemingly perfectly healthy until she had a massive heart attack and could not be revived. Her loss still haunts me to this day. Stay strong for those who share your loss. In Tarik's case, he mentioned 2 nieces who will need his support going forward. I have no doubt he will stay strong for them.
  4. Thanks for the video! This guy is really serious about taking care of his body. No wonder he can run a 4.4 and toss the ball 60 yds. downfield.
  5. Sad story from NFL.com Tyrell Cohen, twin brother of Bears RB Tarik Cohen, found dead at age 25
  6. Do you have a link to the video showing his workout routine?
  7. As listed by Bearswire.usatoday.com: 10 - RB David Montgomery: 4.63 09 - WR Allen Robinson: 4.6 08 - WR Dazz Newsome: 4.57 07 - RB Khalil Herbert: 4.51 06 - QB Justin Fields: 4.44 05 - RB Tarik Cohen: 4.42 04 - WR Anthony Miller: 4.38 03 - WR Darnell Mooney: 4.38 02 - WR Damiere Byrd: 4.28 01 - WR Marquise Goodwin: 4.27 This should be fun to watch!
  8. Fantastic. A quarterback's familiarity with his receivers is paramount to his success. I hope he gets together with all of his WRs when possible, one-on-one or as a group. I know the NFL has tightened rules about team activities. However, I've heard of QBs and WRs getting together at a remote location, usually at of the players homes, to workout together. The NFL cannot prohibit that, and any team objecting would be crazy to object.
  9. At this time of year it's always fun to read positive remarks from the media. One can only hope they are right, this time. LOL A nice article about 2 of our 6th round picks, RB Herbert & CB Graham.
  10. Hell, after reading the stats on Love that you guys showed me, Why was Rodgers so upset about drafting this guy? He certainly is no threat to take over Rodgers position. Zero competition. I know GB hasn't drafted the players Rodgers wants for support, but Love is a backup QB, no a starter from what I gather.
  11. Exactly. When Farve left and Rodgers took over, I was laughing my ass off, thinking Rodgers would suck.

    Leno Released

There must be a way to restructure both Graham and Hicks. I'd like to see them both remain on the team.
  13. Just viewed a Highlight video of WR Byrd on YouTube. Showed ability to get good separation, yet also good in tight space, tracks ball good. Oh, and he is fast! LOL Highlights of new Bears speedy WR Damiere Byrd Out of curiosity I snooped around and found this: (I'm sure after six years some of this has changed.) Pro Day Scores: Pro Day Date: 4/1/2015 40 Yard Dash: 4.27 seconds 40 Yard (MPH): 19.16 (MPH) 20 Yard Split: 2.54 seconds 10 Yard Split: 1.51 seconds Bench Press: (N/A) reps (225 lb) Vertical Leap: 42.0 inches Height: 69.25 inches Weight: 173 lbs Broad Jump: 131 inches Hand Size: 8 inches Arm Length: 29.88 inches 20 Yd Shuttle: 4.09 seconds Three Cone: 6.59 seconds
  14. Roster Move: Bears sign WR Damiere Byrd Another veteran speedy WR with experience as a kick returner. I think half of the FA contracts signed by all teams this year are 1 year unguaranteed contracts.
  15. One of the best articles I've read in a long time. A lot of details about Fields, as well as the entire Bears' 2021 draft. Hoge’s 10 Bears Things: The unlikely ‘steal’ of Justin Fields

  17. That worries me. He's highly intelligent, a film room junkie, a quick study, yet he has trouble picking up a blitz? Something doesn't jive. If after 2 years in FBS he has trouble picking up a blitz, then what about the more complex NFL schemes?

    Leno Released

Everything I've read about Jenkins is super positive. His nasty demeanor. His ability to pass protect, only giving up 2 sacks his entire career. His ability to run block, a road grater. His ability to pull. His ability to go to the 2nd level and block LBs downfield. The one thing I have read about is: Does he get called for a lot of penalties? I'm just curious as that was one thing that really pissed ne off about Leno.
  19. Kind of goes along with a story that circulated. I'm not sure if Nagy recounted the incident or if it was ??? Basically, Nagy had drawn out a play over a pre-draft zoom conference with Fields and discussed it with him in depth. Then during another call weeks later, Nagy asked Fields if he remembered the play they had discussed. Fields nailed it, every tiny detail, without hesitation. Total recall. Learning the playbook will not be a problem. If he can read NFL defenses, the kid is ready to take the NFL by storm.
  20. After hearing about how Mahomes was groomed (a year on the bench before taking over as a starter) and knowing that Reid & Nagy orchestrated that red-shirt year, I am concerned that Fields will remain holding a clipboard for the first year unless Dalton gets injured. The difference is that I don't think Nagy has the luxury of waiting to start Fields unless Dalton plays at an all-pro level. Nagy said everyone would know when Fields was ready to start. Well, let's pray they recognize it's time before week 1 - 2021.

It's almost like having 2 first round picks. There were a lot of mock drafts having the Bears take Jenkins at #20. It sucks we only have a fifth and 3 sixth round selections left. Maybe Pace can work his magic with mid to late round picks. I'd love to see him find another late round steal at WR &/or CB. Then take a flyer on the best OT prospect available.

I think there is going to be a run on OL at the start of the 2nd round. If we are drafting BPA, then we might not get the OT we all want. Maybe there is a FA LT that is an upgrade over Leno? We need to give Fields a clean pocket.
  23. I love the pick, hate giving up draft picks, but you gotta do what you gotta do, LOL I saw these stats: Career Passing Yards: 5,701 Career Passing TDs: 67 Career Interceptions: 9 Career Rushing Yards: 1,133 Career Rushing TDs: 19 At his pro day he ran a 4.44 40-yd dash 67/9 TD/INT Ratio is awesome He is good throwing when forced outside the pocket, and can obviously pick up some yds when no one is open
  24. Yes, Since I wrote that post, I am hearing more and more about how Rodgers is unhappy with GB for not commiting to a multi-year contract extension with a big pay boost. He's earned it. They just want to rework his existing contract for cap purposes. Unfortunately, GB is saying no way they trade him. Could be smoke screen. I have to believe for the right price, they might say yes.
  25. I'm watching NFL Network and there are several advancing the rumor. One can only pray. The Packer Nation would be so pissed. LOL Toasted Cheese!
