Barkley for 2017(?)
A very interesting possibility. Hard to judge off of one start/complete game but he certainly looked promising. I know for sure of 3 passes to 3 different receivers, 2 on the final drive, that should have been caught in the end zone. Add to those drops the additional drops that occured during the game (a really bad game by our WRs) and Barkley would have put up some huge numbers.

Fox in or out?
If Fox were to be replaced I would love to see Fangio be promoted to HC and have him choose his coaching staff to help him turn this thing around. I am still undecided in my own mind as to if I feel Fox should go or be given another year.

Romo Time?
If Romo isn't careful he will wind up in a wheel chair for the remainder of his life. How many back surgeries is he going to endure before he realizes it is time to retire? That is why I am reluctant to want to sign him. No, I do not want Cutler as a transition QB. But I do not want to waste big $$ on Romo's bad back.

Romo Time?
Romo is too high of an injury risk NE QBs going to other teams never seem to work out Everytime we try trading picks for QBs we get bit in the ass Cutler & R Mirer cost us a total of 4 1st rounders between the two. What a waste. Draft good prospects, develop them, that is the only long term solution IMO

So, what's up with Cutler?
I think every GM in the NFL knows we will be cutting him loose (I hope our GM knows this, LOL), why trade for him? IMO he walks away, free agent.

Whitehair starting
I just saw this on the Bears site, good news IMO for Whitehair, could help him a lot in his development as an OC:

Taking a Stand Post
There was a post which would have brought up a discussion of the current trend of some players refusing to stand for the National Anthem. I am sure there are some strong opinions on this topic. I deleted the post simply because from past experience this would become a powder keg in short order. We try not to censor posts, we really do, but we also do not want the Bears Forum to be used to discuss topics which might be very sensitive to members and result in controversial exchanges of opinion on topics not related to football. I hope everyone understands.

Leonard Floyd is inconsistent and out of shape, according to Fangio
Every year, year after year, at least one poster on the forum will say they give up on the Bears. I disagree with you on Pace, I think he has done a heck of a job in the short time he has had to try and correct over a decade of piss poor management by his predcessors. However, that being said, even if I agreed with you on your evaluation of Pace, I would still be a Bears fanatic. I guess you could say I am a "LIFER". LOL

Leonard Floyd is inconsistent and out of shape, according to Fangio
I am concerned over that also. I am actually more excited about Bullard than Floyd at this point. I am hoping that Floyd will eventually live up to our expectations when drafted. I am thinking that Bullard might contribute from the get go.

Leonard Floyd is inconsistent and out of shape, according to Fangio
I wonder what "out of shape" is referring to? If it is stamina and endurance then I am concerned. If by saying he is out of shape is referring to needing to add more muscle/weight, well that is not something that takes time. So I guess I am hoping he is referring to, what has been eluded to before, the need to add more muscle and weight.

Gould is gone
A lot of teams are making moves at this time of year, just like every year, that make you scratch your head a bit. Look at Tompson in GB cutting a Pro Bowl OG less than a week before the start of the season. NEP cut their starting center and now one of their starting OG. The Saints cut Barth to keep Forbath, then cut Forbath to pick up an unproven rookie from BAL, W Lutz So although it looks crazy, it is certainly not anything new. I am puzzled by some of the moves myself but I am reasonably sure they are truly convinced it is for the best and not just Cap related. Only time will tell, I will just sit back and enjoy the season.

There has been some concern expressed to the Admins of the forum about avatars being used by some posters. There are posters on the forum who have young children who either read posts on the forum or are present when the parent is reading posts on the forum and are uncomfortable, for various reasons, for them to see avatars of a sexually provocative nature. Being the father of 5, grandfather of 9, great grandfather of 3, I can certainly understand. The Admins therefore would certainly appreciate if forum posters would consider less sexually explicit avatars. If a registered member of the forum would like to do so there is also another option. If you click on "My Controls" (control panel) at the top of the page then: Under Options on the left hand side click on "Board Settings: Under Board Display Settings there is an option that you can use so that the avatars of posters will not be visible. (Do you wish to view members avatars when reading topics? Yes or No) There are many who visit the forum who may not be registered, this option may not be available to them. Please let us know if there are any questions. Thank You!

53-man roster updates
Is Fuller on PUP? I keep on seeing it mentioned here but I cannot find mention of it elsewhere, even the roster on the Bears site does not list him on PUP. So I guess I am asking, is there confirmation of this?

OG Josh Sitton signed by Bears *updated*
Packers cut Josh Sitton after failing to trade him With question marks around K Long's shoulder, in order to return Lawson to Center, I would not mind seeing the Bear's signing Sitton. I think he would be a valuable spot starter and depth for the OL. However, I would not be surprised if GB resigns him at a lower contract number.

Bears Claim K'Waun Williams
I just read an article saying he failed the physical because of bone spurs in his ankle. So why did we even claim him on waivers? It was well documented and reported he had an issue with bone spurs long before he was cut by the Browns. Knowing this the Bears claim him off of waivers and then say he fails this physical for a condition they already were aware of? Does not make a bit of sense to me.

Patriots Cut OC Bryan Stork
Patriots Cutting Former Starting Center Bryan Stork From what I read in the article I guess he is a bit of a hot head but if the staff thinks he is managable he might give us some depth/flexibility at OC.

Antonio Cromartie
According to the article linked, it says: So I am not sure where the durability issue comes from, although any player is subject to injuries and the older you are the more likely that might happen. Peanut retired, I am sure, because he was getting injured and missing significant time the last 2-3 years. If we sign AC to a reasonable contract with incentives for one year while we try and get our DB situation figured out I think it would definately be a positibe move. I also would not mind, as rumors have indicated, the Bears adding a better option for center on our OL.

Peanut retires
I just read that Tillman has already signed on to appear on the Fox NFL Kickoff show this year. It didn't take him long to get another job. Love it!

Daniel Braverman
The more I read about this guy the more I like him. I would love to see him become a huge contributor year 1. Rozner: New Bear Braverman a study in perseverance

Chirs Culliver released by Wash
I certainly do not feel our team has to have all "choir boys" playing for us and I would certainly feel Culliver would, if healthy, be an upgrade sorely needed in our CB position, however, this I am concerned over (led to a 1 game suspension)

One draft problem
Bears were unable to pull the trigger on a developmental QB and immediately signed Hoyer as a stop gap solution. I would not be at all surprised that in FA Part 2 they pick up a OT & TE to add to the competition at both positions, the only 2 positions that we all felt needed addressed and yet were not drafted. I think Pace did an excellent job of bringing in some great talent to compete with the Vets for roster positions. However, even with 9 draft picks you can only cover so many "needs". I love the way he is systematically turning this roster over, making us more competitive, better team speed, more play makers, and younger.

OFFICIAL DRAFT DAY 3 THREAD
I personally think that sometimes 6th & 7th round picks are best used to position yourself in rounds 1 thru 5 for trade ups to improve your chances of getting players you want. ALL draft picks are a crap shoot, but to me rounds 1 thru 5 are the spots where you have the best shot of getting a winner. Many players selected in the 6th and 7th wind up being cut or placed on the practice squad. I realize there are exceptions to this but it is just my opinion.
