  1. I highly doubt Williams gets cut. I am intrigued by Fantuz. Any other year he may have had a better chance, but with a short period of time to learn the playbook and Martz system, he will be a candidate for the PS, maybe.
  2. Probably a good addition to the SP unit. Not a bad receiver for a #5. He looked impressive the few times I saw him play on the offense down in Dallas.
  3. You know, at first I was not too happy with this move, but thinking about it, under the circumstances, it might just be the best option the Bears had. Do to the lockout, it would be difficult in such short time to bring in a Braylon Edwards or the like and get him up to speed in the Mike Martz system. Roy Williams had his best year under Martz, even went to the Pro Bowl under him. He should be able to pick back up on the system and be full steam by opening day of the season. I am not sure any of the other big WRs we were looking at would have been able to do this. Yes, Williams has had some other issues as well. But many would have loved O.C. and he certainly can be a hand full, B Edwards probably set a record for dropped passes a few years ago, just about every WR we were considering on the forum has issues, many old and on their last tour of duty, other locker room issues, others ??? All I am saying is I am anxious to see the Williams that went to the Pro Bowl under our current OC.
  4. I was concerned when I saw a pick and a player, being I do not think Carolina was that desperate for a TE since they already picked up Jeremy Shockey, that it would be something like a 5th and some player I never heard of. At least this way it is not watered down and a 3rd seems fair being Olsen never really lived up to the expectations of the team. Like everyone, I was hoping for a miracle in compensation, but alas, it did not happen.
  5. I agree, I like Kellen Davis a lot and I think he can replace Olsen in the starting lineup just fine. I do not think we will really miss Olsen that much. Wasn't it in Carolina where he fumbled 2 or 3 times in one game? If it was it is odd they would trade for him. What game was that he had butter fingers?
  6. Do not have more details, they get a player and draft pick from Carolina, that is all I know for now, just announced on NFL Network.
  7. Everyone is talking like the Bears have been pinching the pennies. That might have been the case years ago but just look at what we have done the past few years. I think the Bears should have shaken that "tightwad" perception, they certainly have ponied up a whole lot of money the past two years! I think this will be the third year in a row that we outbid a few teams for some additional key players. Like everyone, OL is my first concern, and oh how I would love to take Jenkins from the Packers and Rice away from Minny. Give me A mauler OLman, Jenkins and Rice, and I will sit back and enjoy the fun!

I have a feeling there are going to be some bargains out there in FA this year. It sounds like there is an excellent chance we may walk away from FA with some excellent improvements to our roster. I also suspect that Paea is going to be a DROY candidate. I love his selection and feel he may be a fantastic addition. I am not ruling out him being a good pass rusher. He has the strength and quickness/athleticism to not only stop the run but to penetrate as well, especially with Peppers on one side, someone like Jenkins on the other, and some continued development of our RDE Idonoje (sp?). It could be the best DL we have had in years and that only makes our DB that much better. Briggs and Urlacher behind that group should flourish!
  9. I would only let Collins go to Minny if we got an 11th round draft pick in return. Asking too much?
  10. I think what we have to look at is the road to the NFC Championship game is easier traveled with Seattle coming to Chicago. Assuming we come to play and remember to run the ball and stop the run, we will make it to the Championship game and will be one game away from the SB. I am not sure if I would prefer the Bears to go to Atlanta and play them or GB at our house. There are pros and cons to both scenarios. However, the way I see it, if we cannot play well enough to win against either of those two teams we do not deserve to be in the SB. I want the Bears to earn their berth.
  11. How much longer are you going to be stationed over there? I figured you would be back home by next season!

Bennett injured his ankle last week against the Jets and did not finish the game. He was held out of todays game as a precaution. I agree with the decision, we need him for the playoffs.
  13. Obviously this was a trick question, no one covered Knox.
  14. Have a great holiday everyone! Hopefully the Bears will continue to put more and more gifts under out trees over the next 6-7 weeks. Now that would be a very nice Christmas indeed!

I want to see Briggs make it also, he is deserving, hopefully once the remaining 2/3 of the opinions are registered this overlook by the fans will be rectified.
  16. I agree, I see nothing out of line with BB's posts. He has been a valuable member of this forum for a very long time. Back when Jeff Timms was still active and the webmaster. His participation in the forums is an asset to us and I would hate to think anyone would try to say anything different. BB lives, I believe, in the NE area, and I am sure has some views that may differ from ours when it comes to NE. That does not make him any less a Bears' fan.
  17. If he tries to play, one good hit and fall to the ground on the "frozen" tundra will put him back on the sidelines for good. Does he really want that? I know he want to try and help the team but he would be smart to sit one more week and play on a better surface if he wants to finish out the season, otherwise, he may very well finish out his career tonight.
  18. I think a lot of that will depend on if they still have a chance to gain home field advantage for the playoffs. Some seem to think that just becuae the Bears got their asses kicked by NE that we still do not have home field advantage do to the weather here. I would love to see a team like New Orkleans or Atlanta here for the playoffs.

  20. I hope you are right, if the Bears give MAX effort in this game, with a Rookie 6th round pick drafted to be converted to a WR and switched to QB, there is no reason why we should not come away with half a dozen turnovers and a lopsided victory. I mean, for ???'s sake, why wouldn't they be fired up? They have a chance to clinch the Division when all the experts (and half of this forum) were thinking the Bears would finish 3rd or 4th in the NFCN this year?
  21. I am seeing on NFL.com Jackson is going on IR with a turf toe, guess he is no where near as tough as Favre, LOL. I wonder if Favre would have gone on IR with a turf toe? http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d81cf...le=HP_headlines
  22. I know when I have my balled rubbed down I have absolutely no problems with turnovers
  23. Just looking at the pictures I think they suck. What is with the fronts of the jerseys? Is it me or do the numbers on the front of the jerseys look way too large? The jerseys do not look right to me.
  24. Probably, even then who knows? Before the Eagles game EVERY expert I saw had the Eagles kicking our Ass. So what happens, during the game when it was obvious the Bears were not going to get their Butts kicked, the announcers started making excuses about how if Samuel was playing he would have forced a couple Cutler interceptions, etc... I think they knew Samuel was going to miss the game when they predicted we would get our butts kicked! I also love the fact that they said before the PHI win we had only beaten 1 team with a winning record. When we played MIA they had a winning record. They then lost to us and became a .500 team. Now I think they are back on the plus side. But it is just a way for them to manipulate stats to try and discredit the Bears. I personally am impressed with the way the Bears have improved from week to week over the past month. I knew there would be some growing pains with all the changes to the coaching staff. However, it is really starting to look quite impressive. So, I could give a rat's ass about the experts, GO BEARS! It would be sweet to see Hester return another KO for a TD in another SB, as long as we win it all this time around!
  25. Jason sounds like someone from the sports media who questions every Bears' victory and embellishes every loss. Every team has ugly wins where they should have done better against what was suppose to be a inferior team. Every team comes away with one or two wins they could have easily loss. Every team has games that a critical call went in their favor and others where it bit them in the ass. When all is said and done the Bears are what they are, a 7-3 team and in great position to make the playoffs. Why not just sit back and enjoy the ride, it had been awhile since we have had this opportunity to enjoy!
