  1. OK, just got home from work, after scouting a half dozen draft sites for ideas, the consensus is: 5. Cleveland Browns - Pixote - Brian Orakpo, OLB, Texas 6. Cincinnati Bengals - Pixote - B.J. Raji, DT, Boston College 7. Oakland Raiders - The Prophet On the clock
  2. I have no doubt in my mind that the WR position will be addressed by JA in FA & the draft. I am anxiously awaiting the next signing. He would not bring in a QB like Cutler, investing this much, without giving him some targets to work with.
  3. According to the SunTimes there was an enormous interest in Cutler and you have to give credit to JA for pulling off what could be the biggest trade in decades......

    Hey NFO!

You need to correct 2 things. We traded pick 3a not 3b, and we added a 5th from Denver.
  5. LOL, I suspect Denver will trade up in the draft to get their new Franchise QB prospect. Denver will never go into the season with Orton & Simms as their QBs of the future.
  6. LOL, I just bookmarked this post, for future reference!
  7. Hey, lets not get too excited, he still has to beat out C Hanie in preseason to be our starter.
  8. It seems like our desire for a franchise QB has intoxicated us to the point of making irrational decisions, IMO. I like Cutler and would love to see him a Bears. I do not want to give nearly as much as many of you. I can understand a first this year, but if we gave up a top D player with the 1st rounder, that is all I would give. I prefer this year's 1st and a conditional pick next year. I am not totally sold on the kid. He tosses way too many INTs and seems to be irratic in his decision making. My guess is another team will give up the "house" for him.
  9. Personally, I would love the move. I just feel the front office is reluctant, as many front offices are, unwilling to gamble on off-the-field problems. You are right, I fell it would be a huge upgrade to our WRs with a young talented guy and would free us up to go after the BPA in the draft.
  10. After thinking about Wesson's statement I remember he is stationed overseas and has the games sent to him on DVDs so he probably meant he reviewed some of his recordings and was going on that instead of memory.
  11. I can give it a try. Pulling OT at work while it is available so not sure how quick I can respond to my selection but I check in every morning before going to work and every night after returning home so the most I would take is say 12 hours to select, in the worse case scenerio. Just fill me in where needed. I will take multiple teams if needed, but if you sign me up for multiple teams, put them back to back to make it easier for me to keep track, LOL.
  12. My word, I have trouble remembering what I did yesterday and you can remember the details of how an OLman on an opposing team played in detail from the 2006 season???? That is amazing. I love the two signings we have had for the OL. These 2 guys replacing St. Clair & Tait takes two players out of our system who were getting some age on them and gives us two guys with size and youth, both entering the prime years of their careers. Our OL gets younger, bigger, and IMO much better. I am also hoping Buenning is fully healthy and can compete and that Williams is ready to rock.
  13. I agree Wesson. I see nothing wrong with what Lovie said.
  14. Another mock with a trade that will never happen. The GMs use the draft trade value chart as gospel. They may fudge a few points in desperstaion to move up or down, but the trade you mention is 186 points to our benefit. It will never happen. http://www.nfldraftblitz.com/pick_value_chart.htm
  15. I did a draft compilation of 50 sites - bored - then got tired and quit. LOL Here is the results if you are interested...... 2009 Chicago Bears Draft Compilation - 1st Round - 50 Sites as of 3/22/09
  16. Here is a good article from the Sun-Times, if anyone hasn't read it yet (especially if you are one complaining about our FA) it is a good read. You may not agree with it but I do. The Bears are not the only team playing the waiting game in FA. Even the Packers, who had a miserable year and are trying to retool their defence to a 3-4, has only signed one player in FA and he certainly was not a household name. None of us know what is planned, but I would be willing to lay a wager with anyone who wants to do so that we will see our needs filled before the start of camp in July and that we will be a force in the NFC this year. Free agency isn't where Bears shop

    Wonderlic Scores

Ok, I took the test, but once you know how many correct answers you get how do you translate that into a score? I am assuming this test was much shorter than the standard test and normally you get one point for every question correct? If that is the case, I wasted my time taking the test since there was only 15 questions, LOL.
  18. I remember getting pissed because the Bears swithed "Big Cat" from DE to OT. Guess that worked out ok. A lot of teams do position switches. I think the move of Bowman to FS (he did play the position in college) makes sense.
  19. My understanding was that Bennett did not play last year because he was having trouble adapting to the speed of the NFL. I am not sure what that says about him. It was also said he was beginning to adapt to the speed of the NFL towards the end of the season. Hopefully he will be up to full speed this year and produce as we all expected when we drafted him.
  20. Cleveland could pull a brain fart like Minny when they shelled out big bucks for Berrian and outbid the Bears for St Clair. I hope JA does not over pay for JSC to return. I would like to resign him but I do not want to over pay for the guy. There are still FAs available and I am sure there will be a stud ORT in the draft at position 18.

    Cutler

I am sure there is no way Denver trades a QB like Cutler w/o getting a viable starter in return. I doubt they would consider Orton a substitute for Cutler and their backup now is I believe Chris Simms? I seriously question that DEN would accept Draft picks alone in compensation.
  22. Hopefully this means he returns to an increased role on special teams as well.
