I know you are avid about draft scenerios, and I am a draftnik in every sense of the word, but I find it difficult to get involved with or excited about draft predictions involving trades. I know you said it was not probable, but what you outlined is more than improbable, IMO, if Angelo did this, especially trading 4 draft picks for Boldin, he would be insane.

And if the Vikes do get Cassel, give up the farm in draft picks and money, will he be anywhere close to being as successful throwing to Wade & Berrian as he was throwing to Moss & Welker? I think the answer is obvious. NO!
-
I agree. He should be at a reasonable price tag. He has ties with LS & RM, and he is an excellent 3rd down WR (what we thought R Davis was suppose to be).
-
Personally, I would like to see the Bears work out something where we can keep Vasher. He'd be too costly to cut. I'd like to give him 1 more year.

It is always great to see new posters join the discussions in our threads on the forum. I hope you can add your insight into our little "debates" here at TalkBears. Welcome aboard!

You find a lot of teams trying to use that strategy to save cap space after the "elite" blue chip players have been drafted. It will be more difficult to find trading partners to do this as a result.

Let's say you have PIT 5 & ARI 9 as your numbers. In this pool it is a bit different as they use actual scores in the first quarter and final score. If at the end of the first quarter the score is, as example, PIT 5 (a FG and a safety?) and ARI 9, you would win 225$ If at the end of the game the final score is, as example, PIT 35, ARI 29, you win 405$. You would win 15$ if your square is one of the adjacent 8 squares surrounding the winning square of the final score. The 2nd and 3rd quarters are different. They add one point to the score at the end of the 2nd quarter to avoid one guy winning all quarters in a low scoring game. It happens. So to win with the numbers PIT 5 ARI 9 you will need the score at the end of the 2nd quarter to be with PIT's score ending in 4 and ARI ending in 8, you would win 375$. At the end of the 3rd quarter they add 2 points to each score, so with PIT 5 and ARI 9 you would need the score at the end of the 3rd quarter to have PITs score ending in 3 and ARI ending in 7, you would then win 375$. So, as example, if PIT is winning 13 to 7 at the end of the 3rd quarter in a defensive battle, or losing 23 to 27 in a slug fest, you win. I hope that helps. If not let me know and I will try and clear it up again. Did you get the email sent with the pdf file showing the squares and numbers assigned? There is also a link to the rules page at the top of the page you signed up on.

I like it here, I do not plan on going anywhere.

At least it will make the SB more interesting for me to have a chance to win some $$ I have a bad feeling ARI will win, personally, I am pulling for PIT. Hopefully you will win one of the quarters. Good luck!

Yes, it is fun to see animated coaches on the side lines. However, being animated does not mean you are a good HC, or for that matter a good OC or DC. The film showed a few now unemployed HCs, a few that have one foot out the door. I could list some of the top HCs in the league this past year that were not in this film. I can list a good half dozen in the HOF that would never have made this film.

Grouchy's posts are always well endowed, and quite entertaining. LOL.

There is a 15$ Super Bowl Square Pool I signed up for that has some slots available. I know the guy so it is a reputable site. Excellent payouts and solid system. Anyone interested, time is running short and I am sure the remaining squares will sell out shortly. Check it out: http://www.6daystosunday.com/squares3.php

Yes, you always confuse me Gary, LOL.

Yes, it appears I have over reacted to the hype for Herman Johnson. If he slips to the 4th or later, I'd still take a flyer on him, but this quote was from an article from a scout at the Senior Bowl on the Chicago Tribune Web Site: If a player is that unimpressive at the Senior Bowl with all that is on the line for them, then how will he do in the Pros? It would appear he would need a lot of work.
-
If this guy hangs around until the 3rd rd, I would take him in a heart beat. Put Williams at LOT, Place Sinclair next to him at LOG, OK as Center, Place Johnson at ROG, and then grab a ROT in the draft or FA. Problem solved, we have a solid and powerful OL. Herman Johnson, LSU, One Huge OG prospect, Would look great in a Bears Uniform, IMO.

How much do you want to wager, Peppers, if not tagged, will be a GB Packer next year in Capers 3-4 defense.
-
True, but up until this year he wasn't forced to line up in the A Gap 90% of the time 5 yds or less off the line of scrimage. He was out of position to use his speed. I bet you will not see this positioning used this year.

I have to agree with you, as much as I have enjoyed watch MB play over the years, and he has to be one of my favorite Bears of all time (and I go back a few years, LOL) his play is not what it once was. Maybe JA is just paving the way for Brown to receive a very limited contract offer with advance warning. What I found more interesting, and no one seems to be listening to what JA is saying: Everyone seems concerned about JA & what will he do in FA. Some think he will not be active. Doesn't this statement indicate that he is trying to plan his budget for FA? What is on his shopping list? I believe he is just saying we have a lot of needs, we can not afford a big contract for MB at this point in his career, if his demands are too high, we will have to let him go.
-
Your are correct! Thanks for agreeing with us, LOL.
-
After reading the article it just basically gives the sports writer's view that it would be the best move for Angelo to make. The one quote I thought interesting is the possible contract ramifications. We look to be in good cap shape. I still think draft DE, Let Marinelli work with Ogun, Brown, & Anderson, then use the cap money for OL & WR, or even possibly a top Safety.

Outstanding article! I can see the intensity level of play rising through the roof. He is going to have these guys fired up and that will carry over to the secondary play. We will see a return of the defense we all love. I honestly think we will be back in the top 5 on defense this year. Now offense, who the hell knows?????
