To be fair, Cutler was under so much pressure early that the RB was kept in to block an awful lot. Not saying there weren't opportunities to get him the ball, but not as many as you might think...

That is total CRAP! The game is on the line at that point, you ease someone back in in the beginning and middle, not a pivotal play like that...You put your best players on the field. Not saying Bowman or Tillman would have made a difference, but they could not have done any worse than Vasher did.

Yes Vasher got beat bad and his struggles are well known here. But the fact of it is Lovie called a D designed to stop a run play and got burned. I do not blame Vasher on that play (other than for general suckiness) to be honest because his coach did not put him in position to be successful, with no support on top vs one of the better WR's in the game. Lovie called a great game until that call. You may say how good that is, but in the NFL, 1 or 2 plays determine the outcome of a game, and their OC beat our DC on that one.

I agree wholeheartedly. Our WR were atrocious and looked exactly like what we feared they would...lost. Cutler was far from good, but our WR were dreadful.

If Brooks has anything left Briggs can go to the middle and leave Hilly where he belongs as a reserve. But I wonder if he has anything left at all. And Thomas didn't look good last season...Hilly may be the better option there

Well THAT sucks. Hilly is a fine backup, but not someone I want starting 15 games for us in the middle...If these reports are accurate, I say we are no better than 8-8 this year. He is the heart of that defense and we will get run all over without him in there.

Now I think Orton's a good QB and all, heck he is one of my favorite players as a fellow Purdue Alum, but Cutler is a pro bowl QB. He had a crap game today, but it doesn't take away from that fact. He will be a great QB for us for years to come and as much as I think Orton is good, he will never be great, and Cutler can be.

Then why did wolfe not even look for the ball or move until it was right on top of him? He looks much better on fake punts than that. I have no clue how it happened or why, but it looked to me like it was on Mannelly

That was on Mannelly, not the coaches. Not that I am saying the coaches are good by any means, but the replay they showed had Mannelly pointing at Wolfe between his legs. AND Wolfe looked as surprised as we were that he had the ball there...

I was more optimistic before I saw our WR's in real game action...I do not blame this one on Cutler to be honest. He got hung out to dry on 2 of his 4 picks and at least one pass that should have been a TD. Angelo better start looking hard...

I just don't see it...especially if we have injuries. Big Ben and that run game will eat us alive without Urlacher in there

Our WR's kicked his ass tonight though. At least 2 of those INT's were directly on them not running through routes, not to mention Clark in the End Zone. We need a real WR and very soon.
