I didn't have a whole lot of problem in the '06 draft at the time because we didn't have a lot of "needs". The offensive stats from 05 were misleading because we had a rookie QB who the staff hand-cuffed all season long. Would I have liked to see more offense in that draft? Probably but I was ok with it. My biggest problem, and where I think the arrogance of Lovie came into play was the pick of Dan Bazuin in '07. Sorry if there are any Bazuin fans out there, but in my eyes it was a wasted pick that could have been a good OL or WR. I just don't see where drafting him has, or will make our team better with Ogunleye, Brown, and Anderson in front of him for the forseeable future. Terrible pick and from what I have heard on the Score was an all Lovie pick, he wanted him and got him.

Actually this will be my 4th. The picture is old, but it is the only one I have with them wearing Bears stuff. They out grow things in 2 weeks now a days and it is tough to justify a $40 jersey they will wear for 2 weeks!

With the 5th Pick in the NFL Draft the Kansas City Chiefs pick Branden Albert, OG Virginia. King Karl says: "He is exactly what we are looking for in an OT. Experts be damned he will be a Pro Bowler year 1!" The New York Jets are on the clock.

But in this draft (which I would hate BTW) all 4 of the Top OT's are gone by the time we pick. Some are high on Alberts, but not many at the moment would take him as high as us. In this case Mendy moght be the best pick because Long, Williams, Clady, and Otah were all gone before we picked. This scenario would suck in my eyes, as he also has Baker and Cherilous gone at the end of Rd 1 meaning we get none of the top OT's. Man would this draft SUCK!

So it is back to the question...does the team owe it to the player to pay them more if they outperform their contract? I know it doesn't work in reverse...I don't really care that he wants more money, and I don't care if he skips voluntary things. If it is mandatory, then yes I would be upset. Maybe we shouold start a poll on this one...Sounds like a good way to up my post count!!

I live in South beloit, about 15 miles N of Rockford. As long as my wife has no major plans I would love to get together. I will even talk to her about hosting it, though I make zero promises (she is pregnant and may kill me for the suggestion). I will let you all know what she says if we can have it here, assuming I still have a pulse...Ok no on the my house idea, I work that night so I will hae to leave sometime in the second round. But I still would like to get together.

If you still need someone for any of the other 2 teams I can take a 3rd team. I think Jacksonville was one of them so I will take them. if I am wrong, just assign me one of them and let me know who.

Better than the Packers...I don't know if I could bring myself to draft someone good for them, even in a mock...

How do we determine who gets what team? I am positive all of us would like to be the beloved, though if stuck with the Packers I can see drafting a nice 7th round prospect with their first round pick... So how do we determine? And I am willing to do more than one team also if needed.

Gas is going to be over $4 a gallon this summer and you want the guy to buy an SUV?! I have a Pontiac Montana and get almost 30 MPG highway. It is a great family car (I have 3 kids myself and #4 on the way). The stow and go are great, from the chrysler town and country I believe, but man is that model pricey.

Exactly Nfo (Man I am agreeing with you way too often lately...If I don't watch it I may become a crotchety old man like you! ) Hester was consider by a ton of "experts" and many of us on the board to be a reach, and now who says we reached for him? He would be a top 10 pick if teams knew what he would do when he was in the draft (just look at Ted Ginn). Beson was considered "value" at # 4 when we took him, and now who says anything good about him? It all depends on the player and how he develops. Reaches be darned, pick the guy you feel will be a stud and ride him to the Dance.

2 questions: Why would Dallas want to move up? And why in the heck would they give up so much to do it? I just don't see this even coming close to happening, even if Dallas wants someone at 14.
