  1. Of course, anyone who doesn't want the team to overpay for Urlacher hates him. Give me a break. Peace
  2. Do not pay him more than 2.5 million a year to stay. He was a great player in his time but he is 35 now. His skills are obviously diminished. 2 years max. Peace
  3. Agreed. 5 million a year is way too much given our cap space. He has been paid handsomely by the Bears over the years. A hometown discount is not 5 million a year. I would say 2 to 3 million is a hometown discount. Peace
  4. You missed one point - he is on the wrong side of 30 now. Peace
  5. He's Forrest Gump!!!!! Peace
  6. I trade down and get myself a third round pick. Peace
  7. They don't need to add to that position before they address the issues I outlined. They can address WR with a cheap FA or a 5th or 6th round pick. However, If they do not address o-line then Emery should be fired. I am tired of watching Cutler get beat like a dog year after year. Peace
  8. If the Bears want to become a dangerous offensive force, they need a real offensive line and a real TE. WR would be my last choice to address on offense other than RB which does not need to be addressed. Peace
  9. Cutler has Marshall, Forte (who is a great receiving back), Bush, Jeffrey and Bennett. Weems is fine as a #5 receiver. I don't mind adding a receiver once the other positions I have identified have been addressed. Peace
  10. Offensive line has to be the priority. Cutler has plenty of tools. Get him some blocking. Peace
  11. I absolutely do not see WR as a position of need on this team. Oline, TE, linebacker, dline all come first. Peace
  12. His last return for a TD was November of 2011 (he had 3 that season). Peace
  13. Sure there is a gray area but do you think most of the team's wanted to let their old stars go? Of course they would love to have them retire with the team but they also want to sign them for a reasonable amount. I'm sure the players, in most cases, overvalue themselves and that is why they move on. Peace
  14. Jason - you never did answer my question. "What's is the team supposed to do - keep them as long as they want to play?" Peace
  15. So what should they pay him? Whatever he wants? He has to be willing to accept a huge pay cut to stay IMO. Peace
  16. I don't mind keep him around but I would not pay him more than $2 million a year for 2 years. He was been handsomely rewarded by the Bears and I think a nice hometown discount is in order if he wants to stay. Peace
  17. You don't win by keeping a player for sentimental value. Professional sports teams know when it's time to move on. If the player doesn't know it's time to retire, what is the team supposed to do - keep them as long as they want to play? Ridiculous. I didn't said league minimum - I said somewhere around league minimum. League minimum for a veteran with over 10 years of experience is $940 k this year. I wouldn't pay him more than 2 million a year on a 2 year deal to keep him (much closer to the league minimum than his previous salary). Urlacher made millions playing for the Bears. If he is not willing to give a big hometown discount to stay with the team then it is time to thank him and move on. Peace
  18. You mean like Jerry Rice, Joe Montana, Joe Namath, Junior Saeu, etc.... Happens all the time. Here's a list of a whole bunch of them. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/714377-...-the-wrong-team Loved Urlacher as a player. He is a Hall of Famer. He also is not the player he used to be. Unless he is willing to come back for somewhere around league minimum, its time to move on. Peace
  19. He is not under contract. They would not be cutting him. Peace
  20. Great hire. Essentially a grad assistant. This is how Ron Rivera started. Peace
  21. No one is trading us anything for Hester. Peace
