It is hard to determine if Glennon is making our o-line look worse or if they are bad. When teams know he is a sitting duck, they know how to attack him. Someone like Trubisky might slow them dogs down because he is athletic and going to move. So they may hold there gap longer instead of instant collapsing the pocket.
-
That would work. Then Trubisky becomes the next NFL great and we kick ourselves knowing we could have had him.. Hell, we are Bears fans we will be kicking ourselves anyways. For some reason the NFL powers above have something against us.
-
I was saying this after we took Trubisky. We might be in a prime position to trade down and get a kings ransom in the next draft. We have so many needs though. Pass rusher and OT need to be the key focus. WR, CB, and a stud SS can easily be a top pick, but until you have two good OTs and a dominant sack threat the later don't mean much.
-
It is sad. If we had more picks last draft, I thought we should have taken another late rd flier on a kwitowski type. I do like Christian Jones though and he now has the stage to make it happen for his career.
-
And Sitton is heading to the locker room. Smh
-
They just need to get out of Tampa with no more injuries.
-
Anybody want to pick Cohen up after the game? The kid just lost his plane ticket.
-
Wasn't sure how that worked. I was thinking Baltimore had him on there PS. I suppose he can always be an option if no one picks him up if we need a bigger RB down the road.
-
Jeremy Langford was released by Baltimore today. That didn't last long. Since Howard has a shoulder injury and Cunningham a knee, should the Bears reach back out to Langford? Can a free agent be signed to the practice squad or does he have to be on the active roster? He knows the offense and if Howard shoulder doesn't improve, Langford can step in and be at least better as a receiver. If we can sign him to the PS, I am for it.
-
Hope it is not serious. We may get see more Cohen this week, Logains better get a little more creative so Cohen doesn't break down.

Depends on were we pick, but OLB or OT would be my RD1 targets and not in any order. CB and WR would be my RD4 targets, draft one and sign a veteran. This team can make a huge jump with another pass rusher to pair with Floyd and a young bookend OT. RD1 OLB Arden Key, Dorance Armstrong Jr, or Harold Landry since McPhee can't stay healthy and Young is getting up there in age. RD2 OT - Massie's contract expires after 2018. Drafting a OT to be at least a swing OT needs to be priority. RD4 WR - RD4 CB RD5 SS/ILB RD6-ILB/SS RD7-BPA

Moose Muhammad was right all along. Chicago is were WRs go to die. Too bad for KW, he seemed like a decent kid that had literally bad breaks. I would prefer not to draft WR #1 next year. Tennessee had a good build plan for Mariota, build run game, defense, o-line, and have a good TE before spending big on WR to give the QB the safe tools to get accumulated. The Bears need a piece or two on the o-line and 2-3 pieces on D yet. Find a vet WR and draft a 3-5 round prospect instead.

Bears signed DE Akiem Hicks to a four-year, $48 million extension

I like Leno, but he needs to start taking big steps in the average curve. We have a huge investment he is being paid to protect now. -

Awesome! I did not want to lose him as he should be a probowler and big piece to a great D -
Got it, didn't see that before. He will be needed to carry the team since Glennon will be starting under center.
-
They think he can be a Cam Meredith. With time he might turn into a player to count on. Seems we have depended on players like this for years, what has a top pick given us?
-
Most importantly when? Trubisky is hands down the franchise, so he is the long term piece. After that I would put Floyd in the circle. Howard is big, but RBs can be found. Howard and Cohen are late picks and will be a force.

I am on board with Gabriel. He has great insight and does a good job giving fans a picture how the NFL scouting world works. Follow him on Twitter and he is one of my favorite reads. He responds to fans also (me), which is cool.

I thought Kiser would be the first to emerge and be a decent NFL QB. He is on track and if groomed right he can be a decent long term starter. I think he needed one more college season, but here he is and he is the starter. ND just didn't have the WRs to help him and sticking around was no guarantee to be better. I am pleased at how the Bears situation ended, I think Mitch can be a top tier franchise QB. A lot of his success will hinge on the the pieces Pace can bring in the next year or two.
-
For all the flak the Bears took after drafting Trubisky, it is looking like they had it right. I give credit to Pace for having the balls to do what he had to to get his guy. Could we have the same outcome with the other QBs like Kizer or Peterman...maybe, but Trubisky could be special in the mold of Brees. Too bad we still have some major pieces to invest in to give him his best shot (WR/LT) but with a QB we should be contending instead of pretending soon. We will get an opportunity to see if Kevin White and Charles Leno can be those major pieces when Trubisky is ready to step in, if not then I see the draft being used to bring competition in those areas.
-
Bad game plan. I am sure they wanted to keep players healthy but that failed.
-
It looks like we will get a good look at Ahmad Brooks twice a year now. He has signed with the Green Bay Packers.
-
Maybe the language is different, but Long signed a 4 year 40 million with 30 million guaranteed, Leno signed a 4 year 38 million with 21.5 guaranteed. It is still a lot, hope we are not forgetting about Hicks and Goldman down the road.
-
It is worth the experiment to find out if he can progress. The writing on the wall looks like he won't, but it is early. Give him the first quarter of the season, get some of the tough teams out of the way and find out what be is. Trubisky should be accumulated by then and the schedule will start lightening up
-
I never said to stop throwing the dice. I want a stud OLT drafted just like I wanted to see them draft and develop a franchise QB. It may take a year or two to get one we like and to get him up to speed, so retaining Leno is alright in my books as long as the keep looking.
