Looks perfect to me.

I just stuck my nose in some Chief forums. Looks like they believe Berry and Poe will be re-signed if they cut Foles and J Charles for their cap savings. Their fans are beat up and have fire Reid threads and cut Alex Smith. In their draft discussions, they want Watson and would trade the future to get him. They have had many successful drafts and still cannot get to the Superbowl and think the QB is the only thing holding them back.
-
If they don't trade for JG or take one at #3, be prepared for a trade. Pick 5 ahead of NYJ, #9 ahead of Buf, or #11 ahead of Cle and Arz are all slots to positon before a QB needy team, SF also. Washington may be in the same boat if Cousins escapes. The demand is greater than the supply, so the price goes up and teams will end up over paying. Fingers crossed one of these teams makes us an offer on Jay.

I am holding out for Eric Berry. I don't think they draft two, they have an abundance of projects already so they may grab one. I still think they address most needs in FA since they have enough cap space to fill about 1/3 of the roster.
-
I would like to see two Offensive Tackles taken between Rounds 3-5 to push the current starters and eventually replace.

I just played out a fanspeak mock along with the cap management simulation. Cut: Jay Cutler QB, Lamar Houston, Eddie Royal Re-signed: Alshon Jeffery, Brian Hoyer, Cornelius Washington, Sam Acho FA Acquisitions: Eric Berry FS, Calais Campbell DE, Melvin Engram OLB, Dee Millner CB, Markus Wheaton WR the FA acquisitions were who fanspeak had available. Short DL, Gilmore CB, Bouye CB were re-signed or tagged by there team. Pryor WR would cost as much as Jeffery so I passed. Draft: using Matt Millers updated board 1. Deshaun Watson QB (Garrett 1st, Fournette 2nd, Jamal Adams went 4th, Jon Allen 5th) 2. Marlon Humprey CB (Teeze Tabor, Desmond King, Adoree Jackson also available) 3. Evan Engram TE ( Jake Butt available also) 4. Chad Wheeler OT 4. Zay Jones WR 5. David Sharpe OT 7. David Jones S After all the FA signings, the Bears still had 13 million leftover in cap along with money set aside for the rookie pool. They would be able to sign another FA or two.

I agree, just saying if they think about Shaub. JG is an option, not appealing at NE's possible price of a #1 & #4 or if they are even willing to part.
-
We might as well keep Jay Cutler at that point. The Bears will target a QB early and draft him round 1. Whether they take him at pick 3, trade down some, or trade back into the first round. Watson, Kizer, Mahomes, and Trubisky will all most likely go in the first with Cleveland, San Fran, Chicago, NY Jets, Buffalo, and Arizona all in the hunt. It is a reality, there isn't any way around it.

4 teams left and they all have one thing in common this year, great QB's. Last year seemed more about the D with Carolina beating Arizona for the NFC and Denver beating New England for the AFC.
-
Nothing more, enought to give him a tribute as a Bear.
-
Hester said he is retiring after his stellar performance returning for Seattle (194 yds) in yesterdays playoff game. Pace better get on the phone and propose he hold off and contemplate a send off from the Bears. He was one of the most electricfiling players in history and a tribute of him would electrify those emotions he brought everytime he stepped on the field.
-
Berry needs to be the top target, I think we can go with our other young Safeties unless we can land Jefferson too. The defense can take another huge step in FA alone, which makes me think the draft will be heavy offense early on which may bring a lot of disgruntled comments. The first 3 rounds may be QB, WR, TE, or OT in any order. I think they are currently happy with Leno and Massie, but need a swing OT and competition to upgrade.
-
Looks like Denver is serious about the QB and offense as they make Mike McCoy OC and Musgrave QB coach today. Any chance they try and trade up for a QB or keep going with Lynch and Siemen?
-
I would take this approach, but have a hard time seeing Cleveland making the trade only because they can do the same if NE would take a 2nd & 4th. If McDaniels gets hired as a HC in SF, I think they will target JG also with that same offer. But back to your proposal, it looks good and Pace would get praised for getting a QB prospect along with difference makers in the first two rounds.
-
There are parts I dislike about him or any of the QB prospects which make them all high risk. I envision a protege of Russell Wilson who was a 3rd round pick. Some NFL teams have Watson still graded as a 3rd rounder after that last game. Would Wilson go in the 3rd in a re-draft, I would guess not. Watson will get over drafted and if the Bears take him I would understand why, even though I am slowly reeling in my thought. My personal big board is Myles Garrett, Jamal Adams, Watson, and Kizer. The top two will be difference makers, the bottom two are boom or bust. There are other great players to pick from too like Jon Allen, Humphrey, or Hooker but knowing the price of a QB gives them a handicap.

Well played NFL, well played.

I think the leadership, IQ, and performances on the biggest stage weigh in heavily when grading a player. Most NFL scouts and GMs hold off on grading until the season is over because one bad/good game can change that grade and in Watsons case he gained points. Looking down the road, would you feel better having Jonathon Allen with Hoyer/Barkley/Kaaya or Deshaun Watson/Hoyer with (Bullard/FA signing C Campbell or K Short) at the DE? The Bears can wisely spend that 80 million in cap space and buy a DE, but are limited on choices at QB. I am anxious to start a new chapter of life without Cutler, so my thought process is a little biased.
-
This is how I see Pace and the Bears drafting right now in the early stages as my prediction. I am a little worried about his size and throwing the ball up for grabs, he tossed a few during the championship game that made me cringe.
-
Once again, the board is active with draft buzz. I went back and read many of last years posts to get a laugh or felt impressed with some early insight. Early on was doubling up on ILBs, DBs, and linemen. A lot of talk about staying BPA also. Once we got closer to April, some were shocked to see QBs projected to go top 2 as it was thought the class beared no first rounders. With that in mind, what is your early bold or daring predictions the Bears do in rounds 1-3. Give us something to look at a year from now. My take: 1. DeShaun Watson QB - I have Myles Garrett going to Cle and SF taking Kizer for some odd reason if they hire McDaniels and he takes a more pro ready QB. Watson will be a project to transform him to the pro style, but his leadership and skills is the keys Pace wants in a QB. 2. David Njoku TE Mia- talk he could be the first TE taken but has little game experience. 3. David Sharpe OLT FL- protypical LT size, was a 2018 high first rd prospect that can push Leno.
-
The Bears are still very high on Bullard (6'-3" 285) who is basically the same size as Jonathan Allen (6'-3" 290). I heard Akeem Hicks evaluating Bullard and said he is coming along, it takes time to transition from a different type of D. I think eventually he will be the guy they thought they stole in the 3rd RD. I wouldn't be disappointed with Allen, it is more of a luxury when you have bigger needs to fill like QB and DB's.
-
I am with you on this. The Bears will have 60-80 million to spend on FA's. They can buy almost every need except QB. If Pick #3 is too rich for any of the QB's, maybe trade down some and gain an extra 2nd or 3rd RD pick.
-
They would be trading pick 2-34 for Garappolo in this.
-
No, I put a scenario start to the draft with CLE taking Garrett and SF taking one of the RBs. SF may hire McDaniels as HC and he may want Garappolo as the QB. I had them giving their high 2nd RD pick for him. That leaves the Bears with the choice of QB, Allen DL, or room to trade down.
-
I think there are 2-3 options, maybe one is worth our pick. Jimmy G makes a 4th option which I think SF somehow gets him if they hire McDaniels as HC. If that happens and Cleveland takes Garrett, then we get first choice. 1. Myles Garrett CLE 2. Leonard Fournette/Dalvin Cook SF (trade 2nd for JG) 3. What to do? Allen, QB, trade down.
-
Good thing there are 3 QBs projected to go R1 right now, that would make it easy on Pace taking a decision out of it. Little humor... Seriously though, they might need to trade down to 5 ahead of NYJ or 9 ahead of Buffalo if they want QB and there are options available. Nearly every need can be filled in FA except QB.
