Going off of Gil's list: 1: Watson/Trubisky QB - With Glennon on a one year see what we get deal, the Bears draft their future franchise QB. Sanchez will be 3rd on the depth chart allowing the rookie snaps as 2nd string to start. 2: Evan Engram TE - Dynamic playmaking TE that will create many mismatches and fit a Deshaun Watson attack offense. 3: Sidney Jones CB - He may not get to play this season, but can shut down one side of the field from 2018 and after. 4: Derek Rivers OLB - High motor that can develop into a fierce pass rusher. 4: Avery Gennesy OT - Good fit for a Zone Blocking scheme offense and good potential to play LT>

You're right. Not only is this draft weird, but the Bears draft needs are also. Pace brought in FAs to cover nearly every need. This draft is open to grab the best player available or reach on a difficult position to fill like QB. This draft has Garrett then about 10-12 players that can go anywhere in no order.
-
I was shocked to see the rumor about moving up to pick 2. I think 4 QBs will go round, they each have aspects of their game that is interesting and how they sort out will make Thursday a late night. If the Bears do not trade down or select one at 3, I would hold tight for a move back into the first. Pace has made offers the past two years, I do not see him striking out 3 years in a row on not addressing the position with high upside.

I was a big fan of Luke Falk, thought he has Derek Carr ability. Rosen and Darnold will be the big projections next draft. Depends on how Rosen does recovering from injury. As for next draft, it depends on how the Bears finish. I don't imagine another 3-13 season and more middle of the draft like at 8-8. Out of reach on the top two, but can take the Falk/Rudolph/Allen I'd imagine. With a deep QB class, that may drop 4-5 other top players down to us and QB needy teams may trade up. Pace will have to decide if Watson or whoever will be equal to next class and figure in the extra year of NFL experience taking one now does. I think 8-8 record happens whether they take a defensive stud or QB this season.

Watson is picking up steam from the links I am seeing. The link I posted doesn't seem to pull up as I hoped, but was suggesting Watson also. Less than 2 weeks and we will find out.

http://www.csnchicago.com/chicago-bears/lo...y-get-their-guy I'd say one way or another we still end up with a QB in round one. We either trade down, take one at 3, trade back into the first.

I think Glennons contract says they will draft a high end prospect (Trubisky, Watson, or Kizer). Glennon will start the season off and if he plays well and the Bears are in playoff reach he keeps the job. If he struggles and the Bears are out out it, they move to plan B and start progressing the draft pick. The projections for the Bears will be low as it is, so having this developmental year is not all bad and could net one more year with those higher picks to close any holes still open. The McCaskeys are on board for this rebuild and know they need a QB to make this turn around last, so I don't see Pace or Fox being in any hot seat if they don't meet a certain criteria either. Either way, I see them going all out this year or next on the QB. My guess today is Watson.
-
If they trade down, I would think they do so for a QB more in line to their value. The Bears are throwing the offer out there to trade down already. The top 6 teams all have that out there. It is out there that the Bears are interested in Trubisky, Watson, and I am assuming Kizer with as many meetings they have had with him. I think with Kizer, they have more questions to ask, that is why they are giving him extra time. I think the goal is to get a QB whether at 3 or by trading down which looks difficult with every wanting to move down. If they dont trade down, they have an idea that it will cost multiple future picks to move up in 2018 unless they finish poorly again.
-
I don't buy the next QB class stuff either. Last year at this time we were told how Brad Kaaya was going to be the next best thing and look were he's projected. I agree there will be a lot more higher end prospects because many who were thought of entering the draft this year decided to return to school. If they think one of these QBs taken at 3 will be better than what we can draft at 15 next year then maybe they draft one. If the draft pick takes time to develop before throwing him in, thats fine too. The goal is long term success which might mean it takes a Bullard a year to adjust. When they took Kevin White, I think it was known he was going to take some time before becoming a starter. Quarterbacks should be expected to have the longest adjustment period because they have to learn so much more at the most critical position (mechanics, playbook, protections, etc) Now, who do we take at 3??? It is a cluster and whoever gets the pick right will be king! Lol Go safe or go big it's a guess.

The Bears have invested more time in him than anybody else in this draft. I think the coaching and supporting cast really let him down this season. The games I watched had me disgusted with the WRs as they dropped so many balls that were catchable that would have improved his stats and may produced more wins. The defense was atrocious as well which made winning almost unthinkable. If those things were different, Kizer could very well be thought of as a top 5 pick. I would not be surprised if Pace finds a way to make him a Bear.

https://twitter.com/DickersonESPN Didn't see this coming, but getting younger. Lattimore may be our #3 pick.
-
The Bears have met with Howard and also Engram, which may mean they go TE early. They have also spent the most time out of anybody with Deshone Kizer. They have not met with Jamal Adams at all as of today.
-
I don't see them going higher than a 4th either, that's if they decide to even draft LB. I see it plausible if Trevathon is going to miss significant time. Beckwith from LSU may be a name in the 4th.
-
With this draft being about 20 CBs deep with good talent and the Bears stock piling FAs, I don't think he gets considered. If they were a playoff caliber team, then they may have interest.
-
I'd say Fangio thinks different since two of their bigger fa signings last season was Trevathon and Freeman. Since we will have them for at least another season, they likely won't draft one. It depends on Trevathons timetable too. They would be a Freeman injury away from wishing they had another Kwit type prospect.
-
Kwit is good, but Trevathan will most likely miss the first chunk of the season. Looking long term, the Bears need to invest in another prospect within this year or next bc Freeman won't be here much longer, he could be cut next year for 3.5mil savings. ILB is probably Fangios biggest asset to his D, he had great ones in SF. Maybe I just want to see another home grown great in a Bears uni.
-
Has anyone heard any updates on Trevathan? I don't see the Bears going into season with only Kwit/Freeman. I can see the Bears taking an upside ILB more so than a CB in this draft. I doubt they go Foster round 1, but after I can see them taking McMillon rd2 or Beckwith rd 4. Since we would be more about depth at ILB, the later would be best.

As we creep closer to draft day and as the Bears prepare to do this work themselves next week, I did my best in starting an order. With arguments, players could move up or down. 1-Garrett Edge - top prospect, no questions 2-Adams SS - healthy and instant impact 3-Thomas DE/OLB- high motor, disrupter. 4-Allen DL - elite prospect, could challenge the top spot but long term health draws pause 5-Hooker FS- elite prospect and could be higher but still in recover/rehab 6-Trubisky QB-If he had a repeat year, would be top pick. 7-Foster LB-might be best ILB prospect in uhh last 5 years, would lead team in tackle year one 8-Williams WR-all around great wr, AJ Green 9-Kizer QB-proto typical traits to be 10 year starter. 10-Watson QB-leadership and knows how to win. 11-Howard TE-can have Gronk impact recv and blocks well 12-Lattimore CB-top CB can become shutdown, had some health questions 13-Barnett OLB-Stout pass rusher and run defender, demarcus ware comparisons 14-Robinson OT-Top OT prospect, fared well against top edge rushers. Feet questionable for LT 15-Peppers SS-would be higher if he had INTs, rare athlete 16-Fournette RB-Peterson like prospect 17-Mahomes QB -elite arm with gunslinger mentality. With proper coaching you have Favre without Cutler.
-
Crap....missed him too, he is another 3rd
-
Yep, they will be cutting about 37 loose come preseason.
-
I think he brings the total amount of players on the roster to 78. 90 is the limit, leaving 12 players yet to be drafted or signed as UDFA's. The Bears will be making their draft board within the next 10 days.
-
Free wings for every INT by BWW!

https://twitter.com/djdurkin/status/849795275996704768 Dan Durkin reports that the Bears have signed BW Webb DB to a one year contract. Another vet CB in the mix. Tells me they may hold off on drafting a CB at least early.
-
I would love to see Adams in a Bears uniform. Pace drafts players that impact the game, difference makers. He will have to decide if Adams will make the biggest impact. This will be weighed against the impact Thomas, Allen, or even a QB can make. The impact doesn't have to be day one, but when they are playing in February. His previous two picks have/had high upside to change games. White hasn't had much of an opportunity, but he came out of college with those traits. Adams does fit the bill, so this may be his pick. I can see another disruptive pass rusher filling the bill too or if he sees something in a QB we may be shocked and see one taken.

I put Watson down instead of Leggett, smh. I will edit
