  1. ASHKUM BEAR

    Floyd

It was hard to see where I was since almost every tv had the Cubs game on. Glad he is coming around and hopefully he can build off of that.
  2. The nfl knows the Bears need a high draft pick QB to turn their franchise around, so they are helping to make sure they don't screw it up.
  3. If that was the case, why not put him on IR? Unless they are looking to make a trade this year yet. Maybe Houston would trade Oswieler and a pick? They do not like what they have in that deal and at least Cutlers contract can be managed easily now. For any team to take Oswielers contract, what would be good compensation? A first round works for me, but I am biased.
  4. Disgusted but what more can you expect when this team is missing their top draft picks and high FA signings most of the year and almost every year. Nothing to build on when you are playing no names while your money sits in the sickbay. The only hope I have now is they end up with the #1 pick and get a QB. Kizer is about it, Matt Miller just said he is Wentz-ish. When they draft a QB, build the team around him asap with the best OC, oline, and WR/TEs. 1-Kizer QB 2-Butt/Howard TE 3-Crosby/McDermott RT 4-CB 4-WR OC-McCoy if fired
  5. They are also dealing with many injuries. Goldman is a force in the middle, his return along with McPhee should help the front 7. Leonard Floyd also needs to see the field, have to believe he will eventually be a difference maker. He still needs to add bulk, but he needs game experience.
  6. You are talking about the Bears, Fox will not be let go with 2 years left on his contract. Maybe after next year, but still doubtful.
  7. Interesting and Hoyer is at the top completing 71%. I also just checked pff on the oline, the Bears were rated 13th. I think that was overall in pass/rush. Massie though was 30th of all RTs. We can probably get by next year with that core but spend a top 3-4 pick ona RT competition.
  8. We would be log jammed at OLB, but if he lives up to the hype then it would be a great pick. I keep running mock draft models with 4 RD1 models using fanspeaks CBS board with selecting A.) Kizer B.) Watson C.)Garrett and D.) Peppers. Round two has so far left choices of Kaaya, Kelly, and Rudolph for QB. I would think by draft day Kaaya and maybe Kelly will be up in RD1, but we may be able to pull off a D pick round 1 and QB round 2. If Pace feels one of those QBs is too good to pass, then you have to go RD1 over any other position though.
  9. The offense looks much better when you can run the ball. Does the oline get credit? Loggains? Hoyer behind center? Or is it Howard is just better? I would like to see Cutler once with the same game plan as Hoyer to gauge the difference. I know I will catch some flack on that, but it would be a sure sign. I do enjoy Hoyer because he progresses much quicker imo, but would love to put a final nail in the Cutler era if the offense takes a step backwards.
  10. Howard already looking like a stud, just need to clean up the stupid penalties.
  11. Whether Hub is right our wrong, he always gives prognostic thoughts it seems so he can tell you he called that. Not sure the Fox is running the house call is completely accurate, but Pace and Fox do work closely together and having an experienced coach to lean on is not bad for a young GM. They are riding rough waters together and we knew this going in. I know I don't expect any huge turnarounds until they draft the QB of the future and then there will be growing pains. Give another draft or two and hopefully we have that QB with a great oline and defense to contend. The killer has been injuries and lack of depth.
  12. More like the Bears are cursed. White's injury came from the defensive player falling on it. It could have been related to the leg strength not being where it needed to be or possibly since the tibia has a rod in it and wouldn't flex in parallel with the fibula and the later gave.. Either way, seeing him as the player envisioned will never come to fruitation and it is fair to say so far he is a bust because we will never know.
  13. That is needed since it seems our round 1 picks seem to be mediocre if that. Still have hope on White/Floyd but havent had that breakout game yet.
  14. Still read a lot of hype on him, but take your word. My game this weekend was Mich vs Wis, was hoping to check him off as a top 5 pick but didnt feel it. Jourdan Lewis looked like a top CB prospect. Will try catch that UM game.
  15. Hats off to Eddie Royal! He is becoming a big part of this team this year. After last season I was ready to move on, but the way he has been performing, they are lucky to have him locked up. Royal and Z Miller are our TD mahines, Pace has a couple of gems here.
  16. The Bears will be in position to cut him after this season since his major guarantees are up. If somehow they can get something for him all the better. NYJ/ARZ are two teams that come to mind that may need QB. Wishful thinking that the Bears will ever get value for one of there players. Also would be nice to get a top 3 pick, even though losing sucks. That may speed up the process of being bottom dwellers to SB contenders.
  17. Someone was calling him out this offseason because of the amount of completions made against him. I thought he was solid last season as a rookie and can only improve. For a throw together backfield, it isn't going to be spectacular. Someday (year) we can start drafting some high picks once we get the front 7 right. Would love to see Peppers at S next to him.
  18. Howard looks like the real deal. Get Langford healthy and we have a good 1-2 punch.
  19. Lions are short two of the D studs, Ansah and Levy. Should help balance our D losses.
  20. Glad to see him on the 53. Logan Paulson better not look back, his performance hasnt impressed me much and Braunecker may take some of his snaps.
  21. I read that on him going into this season, any news if he has improved? Hard times being a Bear fan not having a QB we can get excited about. We may end up with the top pick in April. Do you take Watson, Kizer at QB, Garrett at OLB, Robinson LT, Peppers S/LB, or trade down for a fututre 1st and maybe an extra pick? I think the time is now to get the future QB, but there are so many other holes to fill too. Trade down sounds tempting if we can still draft Kelly, Rudolph, or Luke Falk say Rd2 while taking a position of need rd1 like Roderick Johnson LT who looks to be falling some.
  22. This^^^ It would be nice to have a healthy oline get through training camp as a unit once without changing the week before the season kicks off.
  23. Nice article, thanks for sharing.
  24. The writing was on the wall at Lovie/Angelo's last few years as those players were aged with no replacements behind them. They also traded away many high draft picks on Cutler, Marshall, Adams etc. That was the beginning and continued with Emery spending his first draft getting players Lovies front office scouted. The offense and defense are both problems right now with the 0-3 start. The defense gives 10 minute drives and the offense goes 3 and out. The defense needs to be able to pressure the QB, that is almost non existent. They also cannot stop the run, even with the additions of Freeman/Trevathan/Hicks etc. Once the team falls behind, it limits the offense as they need to score quick and takes out our run game. The offense's biggest problems to start was having a reshuffled oline. They get penalties too often bc they are not up to speed yet. Massie is also a liability and his pass blocking was known before they signed him. Hopefully they can gel and improve there. Fox needs to stop deferring when they win the coin toss and get the offense on the field asap and run the ball.
