  1. It will depend on who is available. We could get the #2 OT, #2 DT, #1 RB, #1WR etc, take the guy that will make the biggest difference for years.
  2. Nice, looks like Aaron Hernandez part 2. Pass
  3. Andrew Quarless is rated as a decent blocking TE. I am surprised we haven't heard his name, but he may not even want to talk to the Bears. Some players take playing for a rival serious, even over money.
  4. OLB is a luxury pick IMO, we have McPhee, Houston, and Young taking a big chunk of $. I think using a 5, 6, or 7 is the way to go here. Hunter Henry I assume? I think he has late 1st RD potential after looking over past drafts...but does the past 5-6 years look promising? ROUND 1 2014 - Eric Ebron RD1-10 2013 - Tyler Eifert RD1-21 2010 - Jermaine Gresham RD1-21 ---- ROUND 2 2015 - Maxx Williams RD2-55 2014 - Austin Seferian-Jenkins RD2-38 2014 - Jace Amaro RD2-49 2014 - Troy Nikolas RD2-52 2013 - Zach Ertz RD2-35 2013 - Gavin Escobar RD2-47 2013 - Vance McDonald RD2-55 2012 - Coby Fleener RD2-34 2011 - Kyle Rudolph RD2-43 2010- Rob Gronkowski RD2-42 To me, TE is a hard dart to land. Many higher round prospects take a couple years to produce. Housler was a 3rd RD pick, maybe he is ready to come around? Prescott RD4, I am in!
  5. Ward was one of the only d-lineman left by RD4, I didn't see Oakman bc they had him in as 5T, kind of like Jaylon Smith was only LB (not ILB/OLB)? I used Walters board and they had the DT's all top 60, so they were gone by RD3.
  6. Fanspeak updated finally. Stanley fell in this one. I got some good D at decent places. I will take this one Lol. 11: R1P11- OT RONNIE STANLEY - NOTRE DAME 41: R2P10- CB XAVIEN HOWARD- BAYLOR 72: R3P9- S JEREMY CASH - DUKE 107: R4P8- DE JIHAD WARD- ILLINOIS 128: R4P29 - LB JAYLON SMITH- NOTRE DAME 151: R5P11 - 5T SHAWN OAKMAN - BAYLOR 186: R6P10- TE DAVID MORGAN- TEXAS-SAN ANTONIO 207: R6P31 - OLB DADI NICOLAS - VIRGINIA TECH 231: R7P- K ROBERTO AGUAYO - FLORIDA STATE
  7. I could believe it, did some digging on the last decent bunch of TE's. Not much talent after RD3 in 2013. Still not sure I want the Bears using that 2nd on TE, that is hard to swallow. Hunter Henry Ark 28 409 4td 37 513 2td 51 739 3td 1-21 Tyler Eifert ND CIN 27 352 2 td 63 803 5 td 50 685 4 td 2-35 Zach Ertz Stan Phi 16 190 5 td 27 346 4 td 69 898 6 td 2-47 Gavin Escobar SD St DAL 3-63 Travis Kelce Cin KC 3-85 Jordan Reed Flor WAS
  8. TE Henry in our slot in the 2nd seems too high. That is how most of our rounds feel, that we have to reach for needs. I would wait for the 4th and afer before we go TE, Vannett, Higbee, Adams, Morgan etc.
  9. Nice! I did a fanspeak mock today which was very similar to see what we can do with that 4th: My results: 1-Ronnie Stanley OT, 2-Vernon Butler DT, 3-Darian Thompson S, 4-Nick Varnett TE, 4-Christian Hackenberg QB, 5-Harlan Miller CB, 6-Robet Aguayo K, 6-Dadi Nicolas OLB, 7-Dick Vitale FB.
  10. Right, watch him pick up right were Chandler Jones left off.
  11. We may like it or not, but the Bears are cleaning house and building a team with young players that can grow together and not be influenced with bad attitudes. When this core has grown and have their own identity and leaders, they can add a Marty Bennett if they need a push to get them a trophy. Since they have a year or two, there is no need to have a bad tree to drop its seeds.
  12. No need to lock up Long, we have a 5th year option on him next year at a cost of 4.8 million. Keeps getting better!
  13. It was the 204th pick. Great work again by Pace to get something for a guy that was going to be cut. More cash to work with too.
  14. Bears made the trade finally. They will get a draft pick compensation, which is unknown right now. Sounds like they are flipping some picks. Wheeling and dealing continues: Bears are trading TE Martellus Bennett to Patriots for draft-pick compensation, league sources tell ESPN.
  15. I am all for Butler, that is why I asked him. Maybe he was blowing smoke to cover any leaks. Most likely he is a late 1st early 2nd, and we can land him RD2.
  16. They do. I am not sure how that works with bonuses like that figured in.
  17. I asked a pro scout about Butler possibly being a slight reach for the Bears in the first. He said he won't even be considered. Robinson on the other hand may be.
  18. On Zach Miller, he has $500000 bonus figured in if he plays all 16 games. But I think I figured it out, that amount is figured into our cap hit and comes back at the years end if they do not qualify. The Bears have put a lot of these bonuses into the recent contracts.
  19. Amos played FS last season. The Bears D didn't produce INT's as a whole. I think with a better front 7, teams will be forced to pass more and INT's will come. We were still ran on a lot.
  20. I think Lawson would make a good edge setter, which I am not sure we need. I don't think he will be a great pass rusher. I like the later pick with Nicholas, so not sure doubling up is good. A Robinson may work, he is raw in pass rush but stout against run, massive, and can develop pass rush skills. Henry, I can see. Best all around TE for blocking/receiving. I may be ok with this, like Higbee later also. Oakman, fits profile wise. 3rd may be slightly high, depends on who's board. I would prefer a SS higher, Rolle is questionable. Cash or Kearse? Just a few thoughts for now as version 2, 3 and so on shake out.
  21. Cap question, a lot of these contracts are incentive laden. Wonder if that is figured into the remaining cap or if we have to keep space open for that? Not sure how that works.
  22. Wonder if they make Bennett happy with an extension? Otherwise I like Andrew Quarles as a blocking dual threat TE.
  23. Most likely, but if he is released he goes to waivers. So a team that is serious may do a swap, 5th for one of our 6ths or something in that nature.
