Accorsi did tell the Bears it is ok to hire a HC first if they find one they don't want to lose out on.
-
One guy I see as a finalist is Marc Ross, Giants director of college scouting. He is an Accorsi guy and was a finalist for the Bears in 2012. He also was brought in by Seattle and Indianapolis to interview for GM at the same time. All 3 passed on him, so there has to be some reasoning in that. He has brought in some talent to NY and they won a couple of Superbowls 2007,2011. Any thoughts?

It is being reported that the McCaskey's have bought out the Green Bay Packers and they will be moving their stadium and roster to Chicago this winter.
-
No need to honor Tucker with any recognition.
-
Once again, we are basing our opinions off of a Mel Tucker ran defense. Was there any players that looked consistently good under this D? Sure Paea and Ratliff had some inside presence with sacks, but teams gutted the inside with running. I would throw away all opinions, except of Shea, Shea we know is terrible. The Bears will have a healthy cap going for next season. One thing the Bears want to get away from is relying on Free Agency to fill position of needs. They have said this process will take up to 3 years to get where they would like.

I think Bostic would make a decent WLB and Jones a SLB, just need to find the next great MLB. Shea can provide depth, I know guys want to cut him, but might as well ride his contract out unless some is willing to trade a late pick.

De La Puenta will be a FA. But they need to re-sign him also.

Looking back 8 years of pick #7. 2015-? 2014- Mike Evans WR Tampa 2013-Jonathan Cooper G Arz 2012-Mark Barron SS Tampa 2011-Aldon Smith DE SF 2010-Joe Hayden CB Clev 2009-Darrius Heyward-Bey WR Oak 2008-Sedrick Ellis DT NO 2007-Adrian Peterson RB Min

The Bears did one thing right...they lost the game. Pick 7 is ours.
-
1. I expected to see De la Puenta to get this type of deal 2. The draft is not very strong for Center. The top two are categorized as zone blocking scheme fits and would do better moving in space. Later round picks Brandon Vitabile or Nick Martin might be an option, but wouldn't be expected to be NFL ready. Cameron Erving played C, but may get drafted to play OT. So they are insuring they have an option and might also re-sign DLP.

Vereen was a late 4th, nearly a 5th RD pick. But interesting info!

Down to a few days until Black Monday. I am ready to put an end to the season and see how devoted the Bears ownership is to selling their product to the greatest fan base in the NFL. I have to say I will not be satisfied with their actions unless they put a football mind in charge of all decisions. The coaching staff has to go, which is easy because the players will never buy into them again. Emery may survive, he has made costly mistakes, but with structure above him and a competent coach below him, he may be servicable. If they drop only the coaches and Phillips and Emery survive, I will be highly disappointed and would expect more mediocrity and expect to see more women in green and gold.

It will be very unlikely that any team will trade a high enough draft pick to make it worth our while and it's unlikely a team will take his 26 million guaranteed contract anyways. Chicago fans and media, not saying you, have always wanted their QB ousted. Going back to the days after McMahon and Harbaugh, this team has not had stability until they actually committed with Jay. Getting rid of Jay, just to get rid of him would be a huge set back on a team already depleted on talent. Most people see that the bigger issue to fix is the structure of this team from top management, to the GM, and to the HC. If ownership gets serious and invests in those first, let them evaluate and put pieces together.

This created a huge need going into next season. Pass rush has been disappointing this season to begin with, especially since we invested into 3 big name FA's. I cannot see them releasing Jared Allen to create cap and our #1 pick might have to go DE. Randy Gregory, Leonard Williams, Shane Ray, Trade down: Dante Fowler Jr, Round two: Shawn Oakman, or Noah Spence.

I think he would be a good choice as long as he knows of a good OC that can groom QBs.

"This system" will most likely not be the same system they run next season. I did like the moxy Clausen showed. You can hear and see him run the offense before the snap. I am not sure he if he is the answer at QB, but he showed how it should look like. The only way I would want to see Cutler traded is if we recieved good compensation. The rumor of it would cost a 2nd for a team to take his salary would be crazy for the Bears to do. They will have a lot of cap room next season with his salary regardless. To be honest, the benching may be the best thing for him. He will have to compete to become a starter again and if he screws up enough I wouldn't hesitate to sit him again. Only a week away for the firework show to start. Should be interesting to see how serious McKaskeys are.

If they don't bring in Suh, how about Randal Cobb? Speed WR is a need.
-
Running the ball helps alot too. They only called like 7 running plays last time they faced Detroit.
-
Now what can we get for Cutler lol? I heard Kristen is even trying to trade him off. Now that Trestman has this team going. What will this team do now? Fire Emery for signing Jay and forcing him on to the coaching? Hate to say it, but Clausen has moxy right now and the team is starting to buy in. The defense is even up beat.

The only player I would be alright drafting is Conner Cook MSU, that's if he decides to enter. Mariotta will be gone and Winston would have too many issues to go along with his INTs. I really hate to see them have to go QB this season. The 2016 draft would make the most sense, but Cutler may have forced the issue sooner. Time will tell which direction they go. One guy I think can get the most out of Cutler is Kyle Shanahan as HC. He has fiesty and comes from a good coaching tree Kubiak/his father which ties them to Jay and Brandon.

No emotional decisions need to be made in the off season

You can have a team of pro bowlers (Bears offense) and they would look like garbage if they are not on the same page of understanding their scheme/job. Is it a thought that maybe the performance is a reflection of the coaching staff? This team can be turned around, but it is going to take strong leaders. I would start out with Phillips and get him out of the football decisions. I would not want to see Phillips make another attempt on a GM. I think Emery can be a good GM, if he has a strong guy above him and below him. The head coach needs to have the energy to feed the players too. Tired of the quiet hide in the corner guys and no I am not saying I want Ditka to come and throw gum screaming and Singletary to drop his pants. I want a coach that makes it fun to play and makes it exciting for the players to buy in. -

The one about Briggs and Tillman! Lovie had so much respect from his players and the loss of Urlacher destroyed any small chance respect would be won over by anyone that replaced him. The thought Marinelli, Lovies pal, would stay to be the bridge showed it was going to be a tough sell. Goes to show you when you change a regime, do it completely. Any player that you think will resist change needs to be released. Peppers had a terrible year and was not going to lay it out. Briggs half arsed it and used injury. Tillman I won't question and have respect for. Emery gambled on an unknown QB guru and retaining a respected Tampa coach and failed. Hopefully he learned If he is given another chance. -
I looked at it as if the average person spends $20, that's a $200,000 loss in concessions.

I could not be any happier about this game. Down 45 points in the fantasy football championship game with Drew Brees and Mark Ingram left to play. Ingrams TD in the last minute puts me up by 3.5 pts. I am just glad the Bears season no longer matters to me but to get a higher draft pick and find real management.
