Bears “exploring trade options” for wide receiver Brandon Marshall
ASHKUM BEAR replied to madlithuanian's topic in Bearstalk
Wrong Brandon Marshall, that is from Denvers LB. Our Brandon put a tweet out about blood type and not having "be negative" blood. -
Regardless of what we think, Fangio will let us know if they pull the trigger. I like some of the RB talent we may use a 6/7 rd pick on, so they will have to weigh the resources out.
-
I was referring to how minnesota is building their team the past 2-3 years.
-
They are doing things right up there. I wonder what Jerry Jones will give for AP if they lose Murray? Kinda jealous...here is to hoping Pace wipes that envy away.
-
We all will be because these coaches will have to mold a team with who we have. We are handcuffed to quite a few guys that make alot of $. Ride it out and hope for the best.
-
Not saying you said this but pointing out how I've read from different posts about how "Fangio's" guys need to fit a certain size and then they are throwing Terrance Knighten's name as a FA acquisition. They are virtually the same size at 335/339.

NE will have to make some cuts to tag McCourty. Cutting Revis alone will put them at the cap limit since they are well over. Or cut Wilfork and save 8 million. If NE decides to keep McCourty, It will hellp them to get it on a long term deal. If he hits the FA, offer him a 4 yr 40 mil 12 guaranteed.

I would be careful about dipping into the Jay pool. It would be tempting, but signing fa's doesn't always turn out. We dipped last year to bring in Allen and now were thinking how he will free up a lot of space next season by cutting him. Let's see what Fox can do with the parts he has. Use the current cap to fill the positions that look bare in the draft, like safety or ILB and draft well.

Walter football says Ego can play NT and DE in a 3-4, but he is best suited to be a 3T in a 4-3. Sutton, it's hard to see, but he can add weight if needed.
-
I think rounds 2-4 is where you find your DL. They need to be big strong guys because they have grunt roles. Very few make the probowl because their biggest role is keeping the lbs clean.
-
Thanks for looking this up. I was wanting to visit his stats again because he had crazy numbers. Just like Shea if you dare to compare him too. We might have the OLBs on this team already and not even know it.
-
I'd pass. We have youth for depth or possible to start. Getting a vet I'd want a baller and Hawk has never lived up to that imo. Plus he came from the hated north.

Who is dgb. Is that the WR dorrell beckem green? Sp

My biggest target would be the best safety. Why? Because we have money and the draft is not deep. I expect Pace to target a FS like McCourty first and Rahim Moore would be his backup plan. We can draft a decent RD3 SS and I believe Mundy can be improved with talent around him at FS/LB. My second target would be a 5 tech DE, I don't have any FA names that we could target, but I don't see much talent in the draft here either. TE is the third target, and I seen a guy from Denver the Bears may target. Not Thomas, but Virgil Green. Green was a pass catching prospect, but developed into a great run blocker and should be fairly cheap. Other needs I think are rich in this draft are CB, RB, WR.

I think when the dust settles, we will either: a.) Danny Shelton DT b.) Alvin Bud Dupree OLB/DE c.) trade down - may fill more major needs: 1) Landon Collins S or 2) Arik Armstead or find a way to get both.

I remember those days, hard to believe I've been an addict on this site for so long.

These guys are easy to fall in love with and would fall inline of a need say two years down the road. If you look at the roster composed right now, OLB would be a log jam. McClellin, Young, Allen, Washington, will all be fighting for spots. I'm not against at taking one, just throwing out they may go a different route. Positions in the red are Safety and think we should absolutely fill that in FA and a 3-4 DE. Yellow (2nd biggest need) is DT, CB, OT, TE, C, RB, and WR. Green needs are upgrades: OLB, QB. How we fill these needs will be fun

This draft is something else. There is 5 names the Bears can go with. Throw in Winston, Mariota, Williams, Cooper, White, Parker, Scherff and Shelton and the teams that draft them will feel good. The Bears could move down 2-3 spots and come out good.
-
There really is not a trade market for any of the guys that get mentioned. It is either cut them or play them. Best scenario is they rebound from the bad year and show two years ago wasn't a fluke.

His combine didn't help him for sure, did it hurt him is the question. We know he produced in college and his main purpose is to anchor and not be moved. I was sold on him after the senior bowl, but using a top 10 on a NT is a tough pill. Getting a playmaker like Fowler, Gregory, Dupree, Ray, or Beasley would be wiser while finding a NT in rounds 2 or 3 like Carl Davis, Jordan Phillips, or Ellis McCarthy can be a possibility. Since S is a need and talent seems bleek, finding a raw talent in Rd 3 or 4 like Eskridge or Jaquiski Tartt might be a good investment to let Donatell develop.

Playing devils advocate, but DTs are not about 40 yrd dashes. Look at the short burst stuff. As for Beasley, sure he shined and I would be happy with him. I am still pushing Bud Dupree as one of my guys. Vic Beasley 6-3 246 4.53 40. 1.59 10 yd split Bud Dupree 6-4 269 4.57 40 1.60 10 yd split they kinda jumped in the opposite groups to perform in. Beasley was with the DL anf Dupree with the LB. It was a move to help them both standout.

I would like to think that by subtracting Tucker, we will see a different unit we didn't know we had. These are legit nfl guys we have, they haven't had real leadership or coaching for the last two years. Don't be surprised if a rebound happens sooner. But it all depends on if they decide to dump JC, BM, and even MF. Dropping those 3 will make it a 2-3 window. If they keep them and they take to the new staff, I see a small chance this year fighting for a wildcard and being very competetive the following year.

I was going to start this in the morning, but accidentally deleted it. This is what I found: Danny Shelton NT Washington - met at Senior bowl Dominique Brown RB Louisville - East West Shrine Game Greg Henderson CB Colorado - East West Shrine Game Alvin Bud Dupree OLB Kentucky - Combine

I am intrigued with Bud Dupree. I think he is worth a look and him or Fowler may go higher than Ray.

I nearly thought this was old news, but it was Al Jean-Louis they re-signed. I thought they both did well in filling in.
