  1. DT is a need with Paea possibly leaving and Ratliff on his final year on contract. Shelton would make a nice center piece. Safety is a need as I don't think they will count on Vereen and Mundy if they have options. CB needs depth, Jennings play has dropped off. OLB needs to be addressed as Shea hasn't blossomed and will be on his final year. I wouldn't expect major changes outside of the above positions listed. I think by adding Fangio and Fox, we will get better production out of the core we have. 1-Shelton DT 2-Holliman or D Smith S
  2. As a 3-4 ILB, Bostic would have less space responsibility which I think benefits him. But with less space, he will have more bodies on him. Can Bostic and Jones become Bowman and Willis?
  3. I would love to see a scouts or former coaches break down on the Bears roster and who can play what in a 3-4. My question on Young as an OLB, is can he cover a TE? He would most likely play the strong side which takes on blocks more or covers the TE.
  4. I seen one on either Walter or Drafttek that had these guys available: 1-Shane Ray OLB 2-Malcom Brown DT 3-Derron Smith FS A start with those 3 and I would implode.
  5. I don't think they will do a pure 3-4 with the roster limitations the Bears have. I see more of a transition year this first year where we might see both fronts. Two of the main clogs are Jared Allen and Will Sutton. To know what we know now, wouldn't it been nice to have taken Trae Turner OG Carolina over Sutton and had Allens money spent elsewhere.
  6. I feel for Shea, he is a great kid. Worked his butt off to transcend to a DE and then to a LB. He tries too hard. Watch him crash into plays after the whistle blows. His instincts are what kills him. He has alway over thought, why? Because he wants a little love.
  7. That will be fine, WR shouldn't be on a need list but he does make a BPA list. I like your inside thought on Fowler. Ive read reports he is lazy or has the physical traits to be great but his effort lacks. That is one reason I like Ray, effort is non stop. Shelton, Ray, or best OT is my big board.
  8. Why are we worried about the money? We are 10th best out of 32 teams. We have money to add talent. Next year the cap goes up again, and we can shed Allens 11million, Fortes 8, maybe cut Jennings and be looking great cap wise again. I really don't see Cutler leaving, he will be on the team this coming season and next. Next year I like the QB class. Cook, Hackleberg, and Cardale Jones will be first round selections. All are NFL pocket passers. Plan on forfeiting future draft picks to move up for one and we can let them learn or push Cutler to the bench. If that is the plan, they will need the tools in place for a young qb to develop. Good Oline, WRs, running game.
  9. You know I like Shelton about as much as I liked Donald last year. I would be happy either way the draft falls. Here are some scenarios. A. 1 Shelton DT 2. Kikaha OLB 3. Drummond/Pruitt FS A.2 1. Shelton DT 2. Smith/Holliman FS 3. Trey Flowers OLB B.1 1. Ray OLB 2. Jordan Phillips/Malcom Brown/Carl Davis DT 3. Drummond/Pruitt FS B.2 1. Ray OLB 2. Smith/Holliman FS 3. McCarthy DT C.for Crazy, but the offense could get it over the hump, buy D time 1. Scherff/Peat/Flowers OT 2. Gurley RB doubt he falls 3. McCarthy DT
  10. Knocking that list down to 5: Ray, Beasley, Shelton, Scherff, and Peat. Wildcard OT Flowers from Miami gets the "other". I think Pace and Fox will retool the defense. Pace made sure to sell that in his opening presser to the fans. I have a handful of OTs listed because if Ray goes before #7 and we cannot trade down, we take Shelton or the best OT. If they pass on Shelton, they may see talent and opportunity to get a similiar player in RD2. Carl Davis, Malcom Brown, or Ellis McCarthy are all possibilities. How I see it: Rd1 -Shane Ray OLB Mizz Rd2-Derron Smith FS Fresno St Rd3-Ellis McCarthy NT UCLA Rd4-Jake Ryan ILB Mich
  11. Moore led the NCAA in INTs one year also. I am not against signing him, but I hope they weigh the prospects in the draft too. One guy I think will be a great leader is Fresno's Derron Smith. He reminds me of Mike Brown. He has traits as a great FS but can come down and make tackles in the box also. He has great football IQ and is a student of the game.

    Fantastic Mock

There is a handful of OLB's I like within our Rd 2 slot.Virginias Eli Harold, Washington's Hau'Oli Kakaha, Nate Orchard Utah, Lorenzo Mauldin Lou, or Trey Flowers Ark. Or we can trade down some in Rd 1for Vic Beasley or Marcus Golden.

I would be fine with Holliman, Derron Smith, Anthony Harris, or Durrell Eskridge. The first three have ballhawking ability and Eskridge is tall and great run support. Smith might have the best leadership and smarts out of the 4. There is a chance we can get one in round 3.

Sign me up also, he is a dominate force in the middle. He will be a difference maker and make his teammates better. If they can get him and then somehow get an old teammate Marcus Peters at CB round two, I will be happy. Round three find your Safety in either Durrell Eskridge or Anthony Harris and our D has some players. Harris led the NCAA in INTs in 2013 and Eskridge has size and good tackling abilities.

What's your thoughts on Brock Vereen getting a shot at FS?

    Fantastic Mock

I just seen that Petty looked bad at the senior bowl, I'd pass at rd 4 too.

    Gase is OC

This will be his first shot at developing his own offense. We will see if Martz was right when he said Gase is one of the top three offensive minds in the nfl. He was considered for head coaching openings, so the rest of the nfl was intrigued enough to run him through interviews. He is young, very strongly opinionated, and fiery. Players like playing for him because he is not just a fired up guy but likes to make it fun. I don't expect the greatest show on sod, but I think he can get the offense on track. Let him draft a qb like Grayson or Mannion day 3 to groom, and we will have Fales ready to step in also if Cutler struggles.
  18. Two more prospects the Bears met with at the East West Shrine game: Greg Henderson CB Colorado -5-11 181 4.52 Stout frame and fluid, steadily has improved each season Dominique Brown RB Louisville - 6-2 232 4.62 spees, big physical back that can catch. Type of back I would like to see.
  19. I think alot of the BM hate come from jealousy. The guy will eventually go from football player to being in the national spotlight while our beat writers and radio host are stuck in chicago. I have no problem with BM being outspoken. I would like to see him stay out of NY on his days off and use that time to get his body ready for the following game. His ankle injury was bad enough that he should have missed a few games and missing valuable time getting treatment could have prolonged it.

    Gase is OC

If I knew how to posts tweets, Marshall just posted "congrats to my man Adam Gase" "it was fun laughing at the old days in Denver". That is a positive sign in my books

    Gase is OC

The first way is to establish the run and second is to have a pass game that beats the zone. The predictability of Trestmans offense never had defenses guessing.
  22. The QB I've read about that seems like a good bet is Sean Mannion. It would be sweet if he lasts to rd4.
  23. I wonder if we can get a pick for Sutton? I think he still has talent, but doesn't fit what me may want to do.

    Gase is OC

Gase is the teams fire and Fox is the ice. Good combo imo. This offense has talent and it might take a fiery leader to wake them up, hold them accountable. I like this, we have two highly touted coordinators now and a very good HC.
  25. He could restructure, but he is not going to give any leverage. He would be crazy to make it easier to cut.
