Aaron Leming @AaronLemingNFL 9m9 minutes ago #Bears GM Ryan Pace has had quite the day landing 5-techs Ray McDonald & Jarvis Jenkins and now finally reeling in ILB Mason Foster. Good work today Ryan!

Beasley, Waynes, Peat, Flowers OT, Scherff, White, and Cooper would be the big names on the big board. Hard to decide but it would have to be Beasley. Only because I think they have to go defense and pass rush trumps.
-
I think the April 6th date is open so they can get together for strength, conditioning, and rehab work only.
-
They are having mini camp on April 28, 29, and 30. That will give them a couple of days to evaluate before the draft Thursday night on the 30th. The next camp is May 8-10 and then Jun 16-18.

I still have hope they try Long outside. Surprisingly, he may do better against lighter faster guys. Footwork is the key if they do though.
-
They need a 5T, whether they sign a fa, try Ferguson/Sutton or draft a guy. Wonder if they talked with Raji? Reports are he is close to re-sign in GB.
-
I don't like Corey Robinson with the high 3rd...maybe with a 5th. He is big and a road grader but there will be better talent, possible Ty Sambrilo if they are looking OT. Grasu at C may even make it to the top of rd 3. Oline usually surprises you how highly regarded guys drop. Every draft im throwing up names i like and they fall.
-
Hope we can get that trade with NO. Hard to think they would since they are on a fire sale right now.
-
He is a bit raw, was a two sport player the fresh-soph season playing basketball. His junior year he focused only on football and showed improvements. He would probably benefit with another year in college, but has a first round grade already. I think his floor is high and his ceiling is iffy. He won't be a jj watt but maybe a justin Smith.
-
Sometimes it's not about the stats. If you read about his role at Oregon, it was to disrupt the line and take the double teams. That is why he is a first rd prospect. The Bears would need to trade down to the 15 or below for value. If they are looking for multiple picks in a trade down scenerio, he may be a target.
-
Just read an article off of Hubs page. 5T is what the article states as the biggest need. The top guy not named Williams is Armstead. If the Bears do not take Shelton and are able to move down, don't be surprised if they take Armstead. He has the size and strength to command double teams like Shelton. 6 weeks and counting, now that my bracket just busted, I am anticipating draft weekend.
-
I like your thinking and would love to gain a future first by trading down. My reasoning is to get our franchise QB. We may have a pick high enough next year to get one, but having extra ammo to move up may give us our choice. Either way, I see the Bears taking a QB next season, unless Gase make Cutler a gem (top 5). Wouldn't count on that, but if so that is the equivalent of hitting the mega million.
-
I am sure it meant as going to the draft. Winston is not going "to Chicago" for the draft, but Fowler will be.
-
Trading down can be a great tool and would help the most in the era we are in.
-
I like the trade down scenerio and if possible, I would try trade a 2nd if we can get and extra 3rd. So we can grab Bryce Petty QB. Here's my take: 1-16. Landon Collins S Ala 2-39 Kevin Johnson CB WF 2-44 Carl Davis DT Iowa 2-51 Hronis Grasu C Ore 3-71 TJ Yeldin RB Ala 4-103 Tyler Lockett WR/KR KSU 5-135 Jake Ryan LB Mich 6- Mycole Pruitt TE SIU

I know the so called experts say GB won, but their D took a big hit. I do think the Bears made the most gains and Mason Foster LB is still in the works. Following twitter, Kyle Long was all over him today offering him a place to stay, selling the pizza, and saying how Chicago is a LB legendary team.
-
I wouldn't want an offensive player at #7. My suggestion is if we trade down with the Saints, our #7 and #39 for #13,#31, #75, and their 2016 3rd Rd pick, I would take Shelton with #13 and Gurley at #31. With two high 3rd rd picks grab a CB and S. I'd take Lockett WR with the 4th. If Armstead is there at #31 I would take him over Gurley. I know you think a hurt RB is a waste, but it could be a huge addition to have when Forte departs. A quality RB will be taken this year or next, regardless of having Carey.
-
I am one of the few that see RB as a bigger need than most. Forte is on his farewell tour, 16 games and counting. He puts up numbers, but by league analysts , they've been unspectacular. He is one of my favorites and I know good things end. Carey has promise and with him and Forte we should be fine in 2015. Come 2016, do you feel the same with Carey taking the roll? We will need another horse, this team has tried buying several Barber, Bush, Taylor, even Kevin Jones. When you have an opportunity to take a highly regarded prospect, like a once in 5-10 year prospect, I don't think you pass. The guy could bust or be the next Peterson? But if it comes from a gained pick from a trade down, it is easier to make.

OLB may be, maybe that's why they signed McPhee when this team already had 6 capable guys slotted there. Two guys in this draft i think will be the type of OLB you want...Fowler and Dupree. Big and fast enough to not be a liability. Bad teams do have to draft for need because they have holes and the Bears are bad. You have to look at how the roster is composed and when contracts expire. Those will be the players selected. Once Pace has the holes plugged with youth, they will or can do the BPA's. Use rotoworld and make a chart of all Bears signed, when they become a FA and then you see glaring needs in a 2 year window or further. The Bears have to use the draft as their primary resource for these needs. Free agency needs to be avoided and used as a filler if the draft looks unlikely. That's why I feel trading down makes the most sense. OLB might be the best player available, but the Bears have more money at that position with only 2 guys capable of playing at once. WR? They could very well go there, I wouldn't be surprised or mind. CB or S are huge needs, but I don't see one at #7. DT or a 3-4 End is needed, C is there also. Then secondary needs RB. QB, TE, OT. Then you have your upgrade thoughts MLB etc. Well March madness and beer has me writing a book...lol

I agree this D line needs a commanding player to draw doubles. Ratliff hasn't stayed healthy and that leaves Ferguson and Sutton. If they had depth, they would've cut Ratliff imo. Since DT/3-4 DE is a dire need, they will be grabbing a starting quality player in rd 1 or 2. I wouldn't be opposed with a Jordan Phillips or Carl Davis is they are there RD2.
-
Hard to say how they will use the draft. They could build a great offense to bring a rookie QB into with a 2016 draft pick or build a defense. I just don't think they will value a wr that high after cutting BM and signing Royal. I can see them going later in the draft since it is deep with talent.
-
Didn't they re-sign that Miller guy also that lit up the preseason game that Marty was suspended for? TE becomes a bigger need next season as Bennett will be on his final year and becomes a FA after 2016. Youth will eventually be needed.
-
I am not sure he will be a redshirt player year 1. He said he is on schedule for "contact" in July according to his doctor/therapist. He also said his rehab is going very well and it is an every day process with no days off. The Bears are doing homework on him and showing interest, so it may be a possibility. Pace also stated he wants to get Chicago back to it's roots in football with running the ball and having great defenses. I'd be very disappointed if he was taken at 7, but if they can make a trade and get him 25-32, I'd be fine.
-
I had the Gurley envision long ago before his acl. I think he will still be a power back that can be like an AP or Lynch. That would do wonders to a struggling O, plus Forte has one year left. If we can land a trade with NO it may be possible to grab him with their #31 pick. He may not make it that far, but if so he has top 10 talent. If we don't get a power back this year, I like Derek Henry from Alabama in the 2016 draft. He looks like a beast.
-
Word is New Orleans was big on Cooper at the Alabama pro day. If he makes it down to #7, we should pull the trigger on a trade. #7 & #39 for #13, #31, 3-#75, and a 2016 3rd RD pick. Here is a way it can go 1-13 Danny Shelton DT-Bears interviewed twice. Need for a d lineman that commands double teams 1-31 Todd Gurley RB-Bears showed strong interest at pro day. Has the AP type power run 3-71 Ron Darby CB-Aggresive cover corner 3-75 Cody Prewitt FS- Taller S could use some polishing 4-103 Tyler Lockett WR - Speed WR/Return man. Eventually replace Royal 5-134 Cedric Reed DE - size can play 3-4 end 6-166 Jake Ryan LB - 2016 1-Hackleberg QB 2-OT 3-TE 3-WR 4-SS
