I wonder if he would restructure his deal? Definately take a pay cut or maybe spread it his left over guarantee over two years. He is still an effective back and would benefit in a lesser role imo. He has golden hands and vision running the ball. Run a two back scheme and have him split out as a slot wr, 6-2 218 with 4.45 speed.

Everytime I turn on the damn radio it's whiney radio guys crying about the Bears are better off to throw the season away. Those two are not in the long term plans. I would be pissed if I was a season ticket holder and the plan was to throw the season away. Great coaches bring the best out of their players. If they cannot do so, they then cut them. They havent even had a practice, let alone a sit down together. This whole term "non-committed" to them is non sense. They havent committed to any player, yet them not saying those words has a meaning. I would like to see them try bring the best out of these guys while also implementing a plan for a future without them.

I cannot wait for the day that we no longer hear about these two. Every time the Bears are brought up, it is the same old same old. Just end it already, cut the ties. Use all the cap space to pay for their dead money and let's play for a #1 overall pick next season. Two drafts in a row with top 7 picks should set us up nicely and ARod will be two years older.

If Jared doesn't like the 3-4, is he off to Subway?

This was Allens requests last year when he was a FA I believe. I haven't seen anything yet that said he recently stated this. If he cares about money, he will keep his thoughts to himself. The Bears cannot take his dead money (11mil) and eat it. He will have to be a team player this season. I don't see a team trying to trade for that contract also. -
God please no, Lovie and McCown looked worse than bad. I know bad, I seen the 2014 Chicago Bears. I am sure he would be a back up, that is what he is. A good career back up.
-
Good thing they rebounded with Tillman and Briggs in the 2nd and 3rd rounds after that trade. Taking Polamalu would have been great over Haynes and then taking Robert Mathis over Todd Johnson S would have put us over the top.

I know the draft trade value chart, but if the Bears and Browns believe he is the third best talent, then he is worth 2200. That chart is not the official, but it is a good definition of relative worth. That's why is used Cooper in my post. Very unlikely he falls, Jax, Oak, Was, and NY all have a WR need.

Shelton can play both fronts imo. Armstead's role was to take on blockers in his role at Oregon, so his numbers do not reflect. They say he is very strong, especially with having length. Just imagine if Cooper falls to 7, and Cleveland offers 12 & 19. 1-12 Vic Beasley OLB 1-19 Arik Armstead DE 2-39 Ty Sambrailo OT 3-71 Ellis McCarthy NT 4-103 Tyler Lockett WR

Rumor: Bears asking BMarshall to Take PayCut
ASHKUM BEAR replied to DABEARSDABOMB's topic in Bearstalk
I think Fox and Pace have to experience him to get a taste of him themselves. The McKaskeys probably would be glad to get rid of him, but this is Paces call. If i was a gm, i would want a top tier WR. If you notice a lot of the players they choose are guys that exhibit class. Sometimes that class is the form of keeping your lips zipped. From coaching choices to draft picks, the Bears target a certain personality. Even past players and coaches that don't or didn't meet the McKaskey's preference in personality are not associated with them. To me that is one I've noticed that have held back the Bears. -

I've only heard about one player that didn't like him, Robbie Gould. I am sure others do not also, like Briggs who walked out on the rant. If they decide to part ways with him, I would be highly disappointed if they don't get anything back in return. Marshall is the type who would go to GB, Sea, or NE and put up career high numbers and retire with a ring or two. In those cultures, he would be the guy they ask him to be because they have a winning attitude. That's what he wants and the losing hurt him and it was seen with his blow ups or post game interviews. One loss, sure it can happen, but collapses with the talent they have is not acceptable. -
Most if not all of the same players will be on that offense again. The offense will have new plays and a fresh look, so it can be an effective part of the team. I can see them not wanting him if they want to develop someone younger in the #2 role, but they may plug him in there because they know his chemistry works with those guys and it will be a year or two before they all in on a future replacement.

Rumor: Bears asking BMarshall to Take PayCut

First off, Jason Cole is a Bleacher Report writer, basically a blog site. He can come up with anything he dreams of for hits. Until Brad Biggs tweets or writes about this, I don't buy it. Brandon is a motor mouth and I am sure many people dislike that, but when no one was taking the reins, he decided to. For those that think his stats sucked, well he played 3-4 games as basically a decoy because he was hurt. Played through when he should have recovered from a high ankle sprain. -
The person who came up with this story must not be a Chicago insider. The Insiders all are trying to tell us Marshall will be gone because he is a distraction. Well Harvin is more than distraction, he is cancerous.

Really starting to hear chatter on Dorsett, moving up boards to rd 2 or late 1st. Today he is taken if available in 3rd. 1-Danny Shelton DT 2-Hauoli Kikaha OLB- trade down 8 spots and gain a 4th RD 3-Phillip Dorsett WR/KR 4-Durrell Eskridge SS 4-Jake Ryan ILB 6-Brandon Vitabile C 7-Dominique Brown RB

I wouldn't mind him back, but would hate to follow sports because every day would be bench Jay and start Josh. I think him and Jay work well together is the main reason of seeing him return as a benefit.

I would really dig that draft. Harris to me is a better S than Holliman. Like Holliman, Harris led the nation in INTs last season 2013. He also has achieved some high accolades as an athlete and student. I included a nice write up on him. http://www.virginiasports.com/sports/m-foo.../092414aac.html

I remember doing mocks last year and taking Donald in the 2nd. The he blew away the senior bowl and combine and went 1 pick before we picked. This year, I had my eyes on Shelton in the 2nd and he is on the same path....so I suspect NYJ will get him.
-
DT is a need with Paea possibly leaving and Ratliff on his final year on contract. Shelton would make a nice center piece. Safety is a need as I don't think they will count on Vereen and Mundy if they have options. CB needs depth, Jennings play has dropped off. OLB needs to be addressed as Shea hasn't blossomed and will be on his final year. I wouldn't expect major changes outside of the above positions listed. I think by adding Fangio and Fox, we will get better production out of the core we have. 1-Shelton DT 2-Holliman or D Smith S

As a 3-4 ILB, Bostic would have less space responsibility which I think benefits him. But with less space, he will have more bodies on him. Can Bostic and Jones become Bowman and Willis?
-
I would love to see a scouts or former coaches break down on the Bears roster and who can play what in a 3-4. My question on Young as an OLB, is can he cover a TE? He would most likely play the strong side which takes on blocks more or covers the TE.
-
I seen one on either Walter or Drafttek that had these guys available: 1-Shane Ray OLB 2-Malcom Brown DT 3-Derron Smith FS A start with those 3 and I would implode.
-
I don't think they will do a pure 3-4 with the roster limitations the Bears have. I see more of a transition year this first year where we might see both fronts. Two of the main clogs are Jared Allen and Will Sutton. To know what we know now, wouldn't it been nice to have taken Trae Turner OG Carolina over Sutton and had Allens money spent elsewhere.
-
I feel for Shea, he is a great kid. Worked his butt off to transcend to a DE and then to a LB. He tries too hard. Watch him crash into plays after the whistle blows. His instincts are what kills him. He has alway over thought, why? Because he wants a little love.
-
That will be fine, WR shouldn't be on a need list but he does make a BPA list. I like your inside thought on Fowler. Ive read reports he is lazy or has the physical traits to be great but his effort lacks. That is one reason I like Ray, effort is non stop. Shelton, Ray, or best OT is my big board.

Why are we worried about the money? We are 10th best out of 32 teams. We have money to add talent. Next year the cap goes up again, and we can shed Allens 11million, Fortes 8, maybe cut Jennings and be looking great cap wise again. I really don't see Cutler leaving, he will be on the team this coming season and next. Next year I like the QB class. Cook, Hackleberg, and Cardale Jones will be first round selections. All are NFL pocket passers. Plan on forfeiting future draft picks to move up for one and we can let them learn or push Cutler to the bench. If that is the plan, they will need the tools in place for a young qb to develop. Good Oline, WRs, running game.
