I just have a feeling the first pick will go ogletree or eifert. A player that can take over a game. As much of an OL guy I am, I dont think we draft one in round 1 unless a warmack, fisher, or even cooper fall. I will take barrett jones, but have a feeling we pass on him unless we move down 5-6 spots in rd1.

Round1 - Alec Ogletree ILB Ga - With Urlachers days numbered, the Bears need to find a new center fielder to cover the middle. Emery has also stated that in round 1, he wants players that can win you games and be the difference maker. I think his speed/athletism will be a big boost to an aging D. They can opt to hold back and take someone like Fluker or Jones and have a solid player, but they are not known as players that can win games by themselves. I think going D in round 1 will give the Bears the freedom to use the rest of the draft rebuild the offense. Round2 - Trade to San Fransico for two 3rds, a 4th, and a 5th. San Fran had an abundance of picks anyways and opt for quality over quantity. Round3 (74) Travis Fredrick G/C Wis - Fredrick will be better as a G, but has the experience to play C as well Round3 (94) Brian Winters G/T Kent St - will be on the left side at G or T, IMO. LT may take a developmental year though. Kent's oline played fierce and attacked the opponent, very well coached unit that knew where to be on every play. Loved how they got to the second level every single play. Round 4 (114) Travis Kelce TE Cin - big, smooth, and great hands, solves one positioned that killed so many drives last season Round 4 (126)Johnathon Franklin RB UCLA- great size/speed, allows Bears to cut Bush and save $ Round 5 (146) Zac Dysert QB Miami of Oh - QB to groom, thought about using this pick to grab Aaron Rogers brother from Vanderbilt Round 5 (150) Marcus Davis WR VT - decent size and speed, can stretch the field. Round 6 (178) Brandon Moore DT Texas - best d-lineman available

I think it's getting old that people are wasting this much energy on this subject. I'm a ND fan, think he's flakey, will still be drafted in RD1, will still have a decent NFL career, wouldn't cry if the Bears took him, and think there's bigger issues than talking about Te'o and his imaginery girlfriend.

I would love Fisher, Minter, Kelce! That would be a great start if those 3 slipped to us. Spending a 5th on a C/G prospect also works well. 6th round would be the wildcard going to highest ceiling prospect available.

I don't think warmack or Fisher will be available, but a lot can change. I'm thinking: Rd1 Cooper G/C NC or Lane Johnson OLT OK Rd2 Kyle Long LT Or or Warford G Ky Barrett Jones is also in that rd1 mix, but im concerned about his foot. Rd4 best TE or MLB FA, Melton and a speed WR. Along with a handful of our others like Izzy and Roach.
-
Forget a RB, at RD4 we need another contributer off the bat like LB or TE. #3 RBs could be had off the undrafted FAs.

Bears to interview Colts OC Bruce Arians. On Sunday per Brad Biggs on twitter.

I like our safety combo and we can groom Hardin to replace Wright or possibly since he played cb we have an option when Tillman is done. If Hardin can be coached and stay healthy, he has size and speed that is unheard of. He can be something special.

Those were all my first round choices. Oops

Draft wise I'd like to see: Eric Fischer OLT Alec Ogletree MLB Chance Warmack OG Tyler Eifert TE Barrett G/C Cooper G A lot of G prospects available and with Louis, Brown, Williams, and maybe even Carimi we may not have a huge need for one. But there are some great OG prospects this season and the top 3-4should he better than anything we have.

Latest update I could find on Johnny Knox from a few weeks ago. http://www.chicagobears.com/news/article-1...7c-8607955dbda2

That could be something we might be able to do. I posted the real 3-4 is something I don't see us doing unless a coach has a great layout on how to transform our team that is realistic. We still have a top rated defense even though they are aging. I think the biggest preference is to keep the team as intact as possible since we don't have many resources to add in terms of draft picks and cap space. I think at the moment we are hoping to build upon the offense, but thats just my opinion
-
He said he wasn't opposed, but it would take convincing. He said they ran a true 3-4 in KC, and that takes a big NT and two big DEs that we don't have. Now there are hybrids that may work but with our current roster transforming to a true 3-4 would not make much sense unless the potential coach has a great transformation plan.

I will give Emery a break on the last draft. He came in late and didn't have his scouting in place. He evaluated the line and said tackle was a top need but didnt see one in fa or the draft besides Scott that were an improvement. After this season, im sure he has a different thought. I have a feeling we will see an improvement on the line, finally.
-
Agree, he was rattling off stats from stats inc on how the oline performed and why we did or didn't make moves. I think we can expect this team to be similiar but with a higher energy guy that is more upbeat and has the offensive mind to build plays with the players we have. Ex more pass plays to Forte. He also stated how all of are assistant coaches are still under contract. So the new coach can retain them if wanted. He said that was important because its hard in the nfl to get assistant coaches in the nfl unless they are promoted and not moved laterally.
-
http://my.chicagotribune.com/#story/chi-em...-move-20130101/ Thought he was clear and has a vision on the type of upbeat coach he is looking for. Forget the 3-4, he would have to be convinced this current roster can be converted for that. He wants a coach that can be creative and make plays that fit the talent we have.
-
I still think he'll be good. He lost a lot of weight with the knee injury. He has the mentality to improve and will be able to work on weight training this offseason. Last off season was rehabbing the knee. I will eat crow if carimi doesn't rebound next season.

I watched, that was the theme out of Brian's mouth. When asked what he thought about Finleys comment, it was the same. "I could care less what he says". When asked about the crowd, his response was a little lighter and kinda in a joking manner.
-
Did anyone actually watch this interview? I didn't think it was all that bad. He was asked a question about the critics and his answer was "all I care about is my teammates. I really don't care what the media and fans think". To me, that is not worth saying you're done with him. The guy is defending his leader and took offense to the question, lots of frustration right now and you're not going to get sugar coated responses. Just my $.02
-
Did anyone else notice that on the two interceptions, the team was slow or reluctant to chase down the ball carrier? I think they were scared to take a hit like Louis recieved. The oline was mainly who I noticed. Wonder what they were told or coached, because they seemed to not want to make a tackle.
-
Glad he did that, he is calling out his fellow team mates to get fired up. Brandon just punched them in there mouth and on Sunday they are coming to fight. His teammates can either show up or hide. Who care's if its bulletin board material, this is entertainment! WWF at its finest and just part of the NFL storyline at being the most watched sport.

Okoye was brought back today. Good signing since he knows the D and Melton is banged up.
-
Ogletree is one of my guys I would like to see also. Your draft is good, but I would say RB is the only position we have good depth at. Bush makes a good back up/goal line. He's been hurt the last couple of weeks, so I'm giving him the benefit so far. Best to use the slot for DT/DE rotation
