I think if our defense stayed relatively healthy, it would've been in the upper half. Not having a solid MLB does hurt, Bostic just isn't ready. Plus all the other losses, just hasn't been our year on that side of the ball.

Anything that will set off the metal detector you will want out, otherwise they will ask you to remove it until the detector shows you're clean. I went to the first game of the season, the Soldier Field wifi wasn't running yet.
-
Anything with metal will need to be out of the pockets. I would either turn the data off of the phone or try to find a wifi connection (I used a Verizon setup there). That will drain the battery in a quarter searching for signal. If possible, experience the tailgating. Chicago fans know how to get that done the right way!
-
Oh sometimes I may it was about putting connections together. Like how I'd also like to see us sign DE Michael Bennett too.
-
It was a pipe dream joke... they have great things going for them, no way would they trade their youth
-
I like those picks, all in the same line that I'm thinking. Nix/Hagelman would be a great addition. I'd like to see size up front to plug those running lanes which has destroyed us. Maybe we can trade Peppers to Stl for Chris Long. Stl can have the NC connection and we can have the Longs.
-
He seemed to walk fine at STL? I didn't see a cast either....but who knows?
-
I don't think there will be any trades unless we can trade down and I don't think we will cut as many players either because our team is depleted with UFA's. The defense is struggling at the front 7 first, they over pursue and get swallowed. For this team to improve, we need 2 DTs and I wouldn't rule out another MLB because the 3 playing now have been horrible. I think Bostic will make a fine WLB, but not so sure about the MLB. I don't expect Melton back and would prefer we get bigger up front. I would love to see Nix or Hageman in rd1.
-
The good thing is Bostic and Greene are getting valuable experience, they should only improve. Tillman just mentioned that he'd be open to playing S, and I think with his experience he can help guide Conte to improve. If we can resign Jennings, then we are looking at finding one starter in the backfield. I think when our pick comes up, we will have a handful of talent at CB were we can find that starter.
-
I don't know if they will Melton back. His asset was being able to pentrate using speed and he may have lost some of that. I think they take a page out of our blocking philosphy and realize you need to wreck havoc up front in the middle (Fairly, Suh, and Raghi). Thats why they wanted Long inside. This draft has a lot of CB talent, maybe we go that route or take a flyer on a guy that made it to the 2nd?
-
First we would have to re-sign him. I think he has played LG well also, so would we want to move him.
-
Not much has changed in my draft thoughts. I'd be looking at going the same route. 1 DT Ra'Shede Hageman Minnesota - love if he's availabe (Timmy Jernigan DT FSU #2) 2 CB Justin Gilbert OK St- size/speed combo and can play man 3 SS Ed Reynolds Stanford 4 C Hroniss Grasu Oregon-Need youth/strength added inside 5 WR Brandin Cooks Oregon St-slot rec 6 CB Wayne Lyons Stanford-more size/speed. 6 QB Bryn Renner NC- accuarate pocket QB development prospect

Thing about a stud safety, with out pressure up front he's less effective. It all depends on whose available when we select. I'm on board for a DT, Melton will get to test the waters and will probably sign elsewhere.
-
I'm all for resigning Slausson, but I don't think we stop drafting olinemen. Thats where we got in trouble to begin with. I see a center or guard selection in the top 4 rounds. This team has a lot of needs, but what team doesn't. I think you draft up front on both lines. Thats where every play starts. Those players up front will help make the guys behind look better.
-
If that's the case, maybe there's certain moves he has trouble with. Hopefully we can see that and help him.I think pittsburgh exposed us, even though we won. The do have great defensive minds.
-
Am I right to say that our oline played pretty good the first few games? My take is that teams caught up to our offense and have learned to to exploit the weaknesses. Lets hope with the bye week, Trestsman and co can learn from that and adjust. The line is better than last year, but the key is keeping defenses guessing.
-
Safety is a need if we let Wright walk. I haven't looked close at that route but if a stud is around I have no problems with that. I think Emery would go that route too since he was around when KC took Berry.
-
Right on! It's all still about talking Bears. I also like Tuitt as a big ND fan. If he's there I wouldn't hesitate taking him either. Another prospect with nice size/speed is DE Aaron Lynch of South Florida. He transferred out of ND to play closer to home. He should be a late RD1 consideration
-
I look at players year round, just like the Bears scouting department is doing. You don't think they will take a closer/deeper look at the DT's now that Melton tore the ACL? I don't expect Melton back, he is undersized and needs the speed/burst to be effective. That may never come back with the injury. The guy I put in there looks like a possible 3T tackle with the same measurables.
-
With the loss of Melton, DT just became a little higher priority for adding talent. I scoped out a couple mock sites and put a wish list together. This coming offseason will be a handful for Emery and Meltons injury just added to that pressure. Rd 1 Timmy Jennigan DT FSU 6-2 298 Fits the mold of a 3T tackle the Bears look for, quick burst, disruptive. Rd 2 Justin Gilbert CB Ok SU 6-0 194 CB with size and experience. Rd 3 Hroniss Grasu C Oregon 6-3 294 Quick/athletic, also a great run blocker for Oregon's fast paced attack. Chip Kelly will also be looking for his anchor to make the line calls. Rd 4 Barrett Jackson CB ND 6-0 185 Another CB with some size and experience. Rd 5 Chuckie Keeton QB Utah 6-2 200 He is being compared to Russell Wilson, but Keeton is mobile, quick, can pass from the pocket or on a roll and is very accurate. His completion percentage is upper 60's and his Int's are always low.
-
I was right there with you on this issue, I was screaming about fixing the oline back in the day when Grossman and Benson roamed the backfield. It has always been a weakness and has handcuffed this team for years. Now we can start to see what an improved offensive line can do.
-
I wonder if the Bears knew anything about this? Not that his performance didn't help his case, but if the knowledge was there it would make the decision much easier. Free agents Tom Zbikowski, and Brandon McDonald, were both suspended by the NFL on Tuesday. Zbikowski, who was waived by the Bears at the end of the preseason, was suspended four games for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances.

I have no problem with it as long as Williams is healthy. Williams is a proven vet, probably more athletic, and was brought in to replace Urlacher. Bostic will get his chances but has a lot of learning to do. No need to have him be a liability unless DJ falters. Plus as mentioned before, he can concentrate on ST's.

Bump! I've followed this whole thread and got your stance. You just took the bait too easily. Advice from a long time dweller like me, people like to stir the pot for a reaction. Don't take it seriously, we are all human and are 6'7"" behind a computer. My two cents on Webb was he would be the one that killed the most drives. Letting him go is a blessing and should give the Bears at least another W or two. But that's my opinion... We all hoped he would have progressed more; which he didnt accompish enough. Why wouldn't anyone want to see a draft pick develop? So moving on, I hope he one day gets AP and Ponder crushed, and we win a Superbowl!!!
-
He does make a difference, but I think with his age and health (foot) his days are numbered. It will come down to Cutler or Peppers and while im at it, Melton too.
