Can't go wrong with having Safeties. They seem to drop like flys in the NFL. Plus he is a Domer, which might be a sign they like Te'o haha.
-
I don't think we will have a shot at a G in rd1. Rd2 maybe, Warford but he may be gone too tho. Then you have to weigh how much better will the RD4 guys be than what we have. JBrown was mocked rd3-4 last year, imo teams avoided him bc of his pot issues. I think Brown wins the LG position, his play should continue to improve. I think he will be better than Louis and Louis was a servicable RG. Garza can play RG until Louis comes back. Its not what I prefer, but more how I see it. I am a huge oline guy.
-
Garza kicks out to Guard, and James Brown gets the other spot. Unless we aquire more picks, I think our draft sees one olineman

I was messing around drafting too, boring Saturday....basically used WalterFootball: 1: Arthur Brown LB - Great leader has trouble on TE's in coverage 2: Ryan Swope WR - Speed WR with size. I have visions of him being a Jordy Nelson? 4: Brian Schwenke C -If he's around, we would move up. Walter's had him available 5: Matt Scott QB - 6-3 196 4.69 dual threat QB? 6: Brandon McGee CB - 5-11 193 4.40 40yd, didn't play much until Senior yr

The thing about 4's and on, they need to be big contributers on special teams. Chad would not be in my opinion. You have to put that in to perspective when team building in our fantasy world. Sure, lets sign all the old greats....can the be a gunner??

My reply about not doing much to the oline was a result of not having 3 starting LB's. With Williams, that may change. Also, by grabbing a C, we can swing Garza over to G if needed.
-
I heard they were working on a deal, didn't know they reached agreement.
-
I don't know about TJ Williams, is he related to DJ? Just kidding!
-
When players see the process, they won't do any favors unless it benefits them. This might sway their thought about "home team" discounts.
-
I hate to say it, but I see the Bears resigning Louis and that is it. In the draft they will go defense, maybe grab a Center in RD4/5.
-
He didn't want to put his body through another NFL season for 2 million. He could possibly play lights out again, but who knows.
-
That's awesome! You put in a lot of work in your posts, and that takes passion. You can thank Jason for driving you to keep digging for more stats and info. He made you semi pro....just kidding!

Per 670, Urlacher won't take one year deal at 2 million and the Bears are moving forward.
-
Also the bears have supposedly made a one year offer to CB Captain Munderlin
-
I has been reported that Urlachers agent proposed a 2 year deal with 5 million per year.
-
The value of a player that can call the defense, line up all the players, know all the responsiblities is huge and Tucker/Bears know this. He has to be healthy of course, which he should be in better shape coming in this year, so I expect him back. He will not be getting his asking price. You never pay the asking price at a flea market in Mexico.... Expect Urlacher back and a LB drafted early to learn underneath of him.

Bears sign DT Tuk McBride to a one year deal. Another hole plugged
-
If it stays quite the next few days, I would say something is in the works. Which I believe would be #54 also. There is just not a lot of options out there in FA that could help the transition to Tucker like Brian could.

Emery already explained his decision on Rieff, and I completely agree on that. Now DeCastro was never mentioned and he was a player I really wanted, even though we had C Williams, Louis, Spencer, and E Williams returning. OLT was the pressing need last year along with a pass rushing DE. We didn't have anyone opposite of Peppers and SMC was available and slotted in our pick by many GMs. Idonije was just signed to a one year and Wootten showed zilch, so you can't say the pick wasn't a need. The Jeffrey pick I thought made since and should work out also. It just wasn't our year for the oline. As for drafting a QB, sure but I also agree not until round 4 or after. We now have pressing needs at LG and LB.
-
Urlacher will not be getting what he wants. The Bears have shown that from the beginning of this process. If he was a priority, we would have heard counter offers. If the Bears do bring back Brian, it will be at their value. He knows his time is up and the silence treatment is reaffirming that. I think Brian seen how Kruetz was treated and realizes whats at stake and the Bears don't mess around.

I think we need a vet and a rookie. The SLB is not a glory position on our D. Usually a two down player and his duty tends to be taking on TEs blocking. So that's where I would like to find a vet. I'd still like to see Urlacher come back and groom the future MLB. Briggs spot would be easy to draft for, too bad he couldn't move to the middle.
-
I think they draft OT too. Rief is a RT and they have a chance to get joekel or Fisher. They can get a good CB rd 2.
-
Agree, a lot of people spouting off on the man and he very well may be back. His play lacked, but if it was as bad as some say, then how did we maintain a top d all year. MLB in this scheme is the #2 key in running it.
-
A good LG helps, but thinking pass blocking help depends on how D's are attacking the gaps. If they know Webb is bad, they are going to try and single him out. Doing that by putting the MLB in the LG's gap if his assignment was to help. Football is 11 on 11, so each player ultimately has to take care of his own.

Exactly! I take pff stats as just a small piece of evaluating. Like when fantasy football drafting, looking at projections. I still never take Stafford over Brady, because a stat said he had more yards. The kid from detroit would, but the other 11 guys would think he had lost it. Bushrod is not elite, but maybe in the 10-16 range of LT, Webb imo would be in the 24-30 range. The team improved and we at least go into camp with a RT battle and not two duds battling out the for the premier LT spot.
