If a player is not owed a roster bonus, there is no reason to cut him unless we have a replacement already on hand. If we cut Peppers now, the price on all DE's to the Bears would instantly rise because we would be in desperate need. The Bears are doing this the right way, just give it time and moves will be made slowly but surely.

If we can keep Hester, which didn't sound promising as he was on NFL network with AJ, I would for Weems money. Hester basically said he was done in Chicago but would like to retire a Bear when his career is over. Tampa was mentioned as a suitor and Hester said he'd love to rejoin Lovie. Its great Patrick Mannely is on air. He said Ratliff is a team leader, worked his butt off to get back on the field, and is the worst guy he faced on PATs and FGs. He said having his all pro experience in the locker room, is much needed. When he speaks, playersand coaches listen. He also mentioned he will play 3T and NT, and will help bc he can play both 3-4 and 4-3.

I like Tajh Boyd also, he was one of the first players we worked out at the senior bowl. Since you noted Tajh and Jordan Lynch as players we are known to have worked out, we have also worked out Aaron Donald and Walt Aikens. It's either we are very secretive on this process or we have not looked at very many prospects yet compared to some other teams.

He could be a decent pick up, was kicked out of UofI for theft, but size and speed are up there with the best. The Bears were at his pro day and worked him out. His 40 time on the fast track was 4.37 and 4.44, they say to add .05 to get a better idea of his speed. Not bad for a 6-1 205 frame.

I did a search to see if anyone has posted on Walt Aikens DB Liberty and it pulled this post up. I thought it was interesting that they had us drafting Kyle Long, when everyone here never thought he'd be a RD1 prospect.

Wootton had one great play that is worth millions, he ended the career of Brett Favre back in 2010! I think Wootton will sign for a deal closer to 3-4 million a year. I figured this: Wootton - 3.5 million, Tillman - 4.5 million, Ratliff - 3 million = 11 million 2.2 million for draft 2nd tier players: 4-5 million savings account: 3-5 million (injury settlements - replacement players)

I think Emery prefers to build through the draft, so signing 2nd tier players on one year deals is what we will most likely see. I think we will try our hardest to resign a few of our own like Tillman, Wootton, and possibly Ratliff. Wootton may get a 4 yr, while the others 2 years. Those 3 alone will eat a good chunk of cap, because they wont play for minimums.

Also, if our Oline improves with an offseason of gelling, maybe we can use the TE's more than as a recieving threat instead of an extra blocker. Wouldnt be surprised to see Britton re-signed soon too.

I think if we can get Donald RD 1, Martin/Smith RD 2, and the best S RD3 (hopefully Ward) we will be in great shape on the rebuild.

Nothing wrong with Mosely, but I see the Bears going Dline. Everything I see out of Donald so far shows he has leadership quality, team captain 2012 and 2013 seasons. You are starting to steer me back towards wanting Donald. The one certain thing we know is the Bears will run a one gap front and the smaller quicker DT's are better fits, even though Emery has mentioned wanting bigger players. I think Donald brings leadership and a nonstop effort, not sure about Ealy, his media spotlight has been quite. So, ....I'm back to Ealy and Donald as my Rd 1 choices.

What about the Michigan kid. He's the more realistic option of being available. Taylor Lewan has been slotted near 14, been putting up nice results at the combine, and is said to have that nastiness. I'd prefer to go defense, but our big investment is Cutty, so maybe they grab him if he is available.

I've heard that they may move up if a top OT is available because of Martin/Incognito. Plus they have traded with the Bears in the past...ha! But my first two picks is my Bear prediction.
