  1. The Chargers fell off the planet this year. I know injuries played into it, but for having Herbert, they were awful except against the beloved Bears. Beatty is smart enough to know its time to depart. Their cap is going to do them in. Maybe Poles can pluck a player or two.
  2. He is under contract at least one more year and possibly two. They had 3 losses that they should have won but came apart in the 4th. That is 10 win potential and with help, should become the benchmark to hit or improve on. Waldron will work with Fields on improving his release time, that is one thing Waldron is known for. They will add a legit WR2 and Waldron prefers size (MHJ). They should also find a slot WR, Malachi Corely West Kentucky. The oline also needs upgrading as seen in the last game when GBs front 4 destroyed the pocket. Get a Center and competition to oust Davis if he doesn't rebound. Will that be enough for JF1, maybe or maybe not, but without that they were 7 wins that could have been 10. As for drafting a QB, whoever they take will require time to adjust and develop. Stroud was an outlier, you don't see that from rookie qbs often. Take a QB later like Nix or Penix if they are there at 8 or later. Let them learn while putting heat on who earns the QB1 seat.
  3. Interesting article, thanks for sharing. The for sure pick is going to be complicated and coming out of this draft will be a different story than we have been envisoning. My take on Daniels sunk a little while Nix and Milton rose. Not sure Milton has the snaps though to show consistency, it was Hooker who was lighting it up last year until he went down with an ACL.
  4. He was a good defensive line coach when here last and helped young late rd picks or udfa develop. I was hoping they would hire a guy to take full reins and let Eberflus manage as strictly HC.
  5. I am still on board for drafting Jayden Daniel's and let him sit behind JF. Unless a team offers a decent trade, I say a 1st, I wouldn't trade JF. Let Waldron work with both. Daniels will be best to sit a year while building some strength and knowledge. I believe Daniels can be leaned on sooner, but let him "rest" and the juices distribute evenly to be a great. If the Bears want to double down, sign JF to the 5th year extension, giving them control to trade or keep if he excels. This gives the Bears two QBs plus Bagent. A generational WR, starting FS, and a Center who could start or sit a year . DE/DT rotational pieces, a future stud G, and a TE that can create havoc for LBs. Plus a future 1st and 2nd in 2025 to continue the pipeline.
  6. Right, plus him and Harbaugh had muddy water when they departed.
  7. Getting Evan Brown would help the transition similiar to signing Patrick. If they can draft the Oregon kid, that position would become a strength.
  8. Is Vic leaving Miami to rejoin Harbaugh? I know it was mentioned here earlier if we did go after Harbaugh.
  9. They need to find a way to get this kid. He's the pancake robot ?
  10. Bingo! Poles and Flus seem to admire players from Ten. It might be more on Flus coming from that division.
  11. I was trying to point out how they signed 3 or 4 players from the Titans. 2022: Sharing Blasingale FB Trevor Coley DT 2023: Nate Davis OG Demarcus Walker DE Dylan Cole LB
  12. The Bears have been tapping the Titan pipeline with Poles and Flus. I think 3 or 4 players were signed
  13. The Bears 2023 schedule faced 7 playoff teams. Starting 0-3 against playoff teams, then throwing away the Denver game. Looking at the schedule results, they are damn close to being relevant. They also started off depleted with early injuries to think of it. I can see why they want to give it one more go around. The loss of two coaches due to HR issues put a lot on Flus's table. Does a QB put them over the top or another haul of talent is the question. They need two WRs, Center, and G/T depth. Another TE would be nice too. On D, they need a starting FS, and DE/DT depth.
  14. Or look at it as the Chiefs took Mahomes at 10. I have seen Williams like tweets about the Bears selecting MHJ. It wasn't his sudo account that posted how he has 4 or 5 teams he would play for or stay in school either. If Williams or his dad liked that tweet, they have emotions to react in a destructive way about the Bears. I havent seen posts suggesting they would be happy about the Bears but i think i read on hear they have. Jalen Rose had his brother that hurt Jalen IMO. To become the best, the player and coaches need a multi year plan to grow that player. The Bears do not have offensive coaches yet. Talent alone will not succeed in the NFL. It takes a village of support and a good cast. The Bears defense has the right coaching and talent to bring in a rookie to thrive. The offense is missing about 3 players to be there and all the coaching. I'd say they are better off trading down to 2 or 3, take MHJ and find a way to draft Daniels. Let him sit behind Fields one year to develop. If the Bears selected Mahomes, he'd be right were trubisky is. If the Bears take Williams, he most likely would join them in 4 years too. Stroud is one of the few exceptions I have seen thrive under a new GM, HC, and OC. That is not a norm in this league. I think our GM is good, HC is meh, OC is unknown. Sorry guys, long day in the pool in Punta Cana ?
  15. All this talk about drafting a QB is bogus until you get the right playcallers. Everyone was high on Hurts, now he looks bad and they are blaming his coaches. What about Herbert? There is no QB that makes it without a genius behind him. Stroud? Wait until his play caller becomes a HC elsewhere. I don't care what Poles does but who is going to have the team ready to beat NFL defenses for years?
  16. Looks like Greg Gabriel is pissed, he is taking a break from the Bears and Twitter. He don't know if Stein was fired or quit but
  17. I hope it was because people were not subscribing. It kills me watching people jump in a pot and enjoying the warm water not knowing they keep raising the temperature to a boil.
  18. I was starting to type this and you popped in with a new comment haha. I figured you were posting this
  19. They will take until they lose, unfortunately. I don't watch prime games for that reason.
  20. I named 4, Waldron, Kubiak, Coen, and Olson. Biememy or Reich maybe left?
  21. I think the Bears can trade down to 3, gain 800 points, so say a future 1st 2025, and a 2024 2nd rd pick. At 3, you take MHJ, at 9 a DE, LT, or QB. Round 2, FS or trade down a little a take best C. Justin counts 6 million in 2024. You make that up by cutting Jackson post june and more with Whitehair. 2025 they will need to get creative, but will have draft picks to replace some expiring contacts like Jenkins and Davis. If they pick up the 5th year option, that puts an additional 25 million against the cap, how much will it raise in 2 years. Here is a projection. They will get a project 18 next and 41 in 2025. 2023 cap - 231,000,000. 2024 proj - 249,000,000. 2025 pro - 272,000,000.
  22. I am leaning Waldron and if Olson can't find a gig, bring him in as QB coach and someone that can move to OC if Waldron moves on to a HC job after the Bears offense becomes great. Kubiak is right there with me too. The Shannahan tree seems to do well and he is familiar with the division. I imagine more candidates will emerge once teams get eliminated this weekend.
  23. So much for no OC will want to work under a HC who might be on a hot seat. The Bears have 4 good names to interview. They all run a scheme similiar to what the Bears ran under Getsy. This tells me they do not want the team to go through another learning curve and it also helps JF case on being QB1 next year. What was feeling like 60 stay/40 out is not hovering 75 stay/25 out. The Bears also have an edge with having a HC in place while other teams have to get that done first. Shane Waldron-Sea OC, worked under Belechik. G Geno Smith put together 8000 yds 50 tds in 2 years under him. Clint Kubiak-passing coor, Dad is the godfather of Shannahans offense. Liam Coen-Kentucky OC, LA Rams OC in 21 under McVay, Dad is NFL exec. Greg Olson - worked with Bears under Jauron, QB coach with Seattle. Maybe he comes with Waldron.
  24. The Bears extra home game will be played in London this year. The KC game was going to be there last year but the Chiefs and NFL has it changed.
  25. Any change of thoughts on Riveria? I would like to see him get this D more aggressive but that might not be Flus thinking. Two former HC in Riveria and Riech would be a ton more experience to help Flus get us to the top.
