He said he wouldnt give up Moore, Wright, Stevenson, this years #1, and a 2025 2nd for him.

One huge thing to consider regardless of having the #1 pick is the Bears rarely fire a coach with 2 years left. Same goes with Justin Fields, he has at least one year left and will be a tough sell if they trade him for anything less than a 2nd. We want instant success and we're far from it this year. The plus was the team stood together and didn't implode except for maybe at GB. The only possible change is if Warren has the blessing to allow Poles to do so and hire a real (expensive) HC like Harbaugh. If it is having the top pick and the chance at a QB crowned generational as Williams was early in the college season, then Poles can trade that pick and accumulate two more years with an extra 1st to accomplish another reset at the QB position and possibly a shot at the next crowned guy. Just some logical thinking at how the top is looking at this

That might have been it. He really slow talk made me feel like he was stoned. I was like hurry up. He was a Cum Laude Harvard graduate and played safety.
-
Lucas seemed like a tool. They cut him off saying they ran out of time right after they told him he cannot swear. He didn't sound too professional either and I felt like it was just a stoned fan playing them.
-
They just finished player exits. I am sure they met today to discuss the future plans. I still believe they did their due diligence to feel out Harbaugh with a call today or will tomorrow. Hell, they might charter a plane and meet in person. If Harbaugh is out, then they can decide if Flus is the answer or someone else. Give it some time to play out, there is a little time yet to pull something off.

I think an article I posted Sunday mentioned Warren will address the state of the Bears after they conclude the season the following week. The game didn't go as they had hoped, so it might take a couple of days to soak in and not react as many fans did wanting to burn it all down
-
I think Poles calls Jim tomorrow to congratulate him and asks if he would like to be the HC of the Bears. Tells him he can choose to work with JF or he can have his pick from the litter.
-
I was on the Blake Corum bandwagon last year as a late round pick but he was hurt and didn't enter the draft. He will now be drafted much higher. The kid runs like a knife cutting through defenses.

Warren is the Bears president, so he should be involved in everything, and if not then why hire him. Poles is the GM, but he has a boss that is evaluating his work. Found this article from yesterday. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/39248299/bears-prez-kevin-warren-likes-state-team-mum-matt-eberflus

QUICK HITS - Pick 3 Points and Give a Brief Explanation...
ASHKUM BEAR replied to madlithuanian's topic in Bearstalk
It is a fine line and we only have access to what is given. Having a boss that gives love makes you feel better and helps you to perform that way too. The employee has to know that they need to meet the expectations or meet the door. I get love and the don't ever let that happen again from my boss, so I respect him for the boundaries. -
No one will bow out though. They do not play an actual game, like last year. They will instead have skills competition, which it might be possible they opt out but not sure their are alternates? Edit: they are already naming opt out alternates. GB has Rashan Gary, Kenny Clark, Elgton Jenkins, Jared Alexander

Here are some team passing stats from pro football reference. Fields throws the ball away a lot. A legit WR 2 and Center will help improve these lines.
-
But the Bears have improved offensively. They also have one game left. 2023. 2022 Pts/Gm = 21.9. 16th. 19.2. 23rd Tot Yds/gm= 331.4 17th. 307.8. 28th Pass yds/gm= 186.2 27th. 130.5. 32nd Rush Yds/gm 145.3. 2nd. 177.3 1st

Poles seems to like the players with a good RAS score. Length, strength and speed. For edge players, it seems they like guys who can set the edge over pure pass rush skills. Early on, I felt like Trice was in that mold. It will be a fun 4 months leading to draft day.
-
They for sure need a bigger WR1/2 target, so I chose WR. Claypool was supposed to fill that roll and Mooney has trouble catching while contested. Center is almost as important and generally are found in Rd 2 or 3. A stronger LT that can hold up against the bull rush is something they can consider since they could have the choice of the top two in this class. After next week, QB could be the talking point once again if JF and the Bears play lousy.

Never would have seen that coming and the #1 rush defense. How can you fire the HC/DC with that output regardless of the talent. Coaching does put the talent in position.

Getsy deserves his credit too. The offense was lacking Mooney, a 100% Kmet and even missing Foreman and had a great day. -

Has Kmet seen the field? I think they let him be active to keep his streak alive. -

Not a fan of running up the middle. Fields seems to lag on those whether if it is RPO. Poor series on Getsy play calls. Trying to protect the lead? -
Brian Thomas Jr seems like a great kid who will get better and better. He is a high IQ and multi-gifted athlete who could have went with basketball. At 6-4 205, he would be a great complement to Moore and be a familiar face to Daniels.
-
I hope Jayden Daniels can hide in the shadows because he has the likeability teammates will get behind and talent. Trade 1 for 4 can be enough to carry the draft torch of building a long term winner. I don't see the price as high from NE, but imagine 2025 having 2 first and 3 seconds to build behind Fields/Daniel's. The Bears can afford to play/pay Fields while grooming JD. I don't see Fields becoming a distraction if he knows it is his job to lose. He will have a better cast to keep his job or increase his trade value. Maybe Sean Payton would be interested now that Wilson is done in Denver.

You would be shocked at viewing a table showing the Bears on IR or missing multiple games. I'll see if I can find that -
Jax is without QB Trevor Lawrence this week and Carolina could sneak a win throwing a wrench in this whole debate. Nothing has been planned until the season is over. There is no reason for Poles to play these games of who they want until the clock expires at Lambeau and then there is a small chance the season extends. They can go from pick 1 to 3 at the top and then to 14 or so with their own if they win. Once the season is over, Poles and Cunningham will complete exit interviews, discuss, and take their input to Warren on what they feel needs to happen to improve. Then they will start the process of planning the offseason and meet with scouts for pro and college personnel and build a list to strategize the offseason with the capital they have. They will meet and get a better feel for college players at the senior bowl and combine all while discussing with other teams on interest in making trades for their pick or possibly JF. Once those events are over, then they will know the possible fate of "One" or JF. This is my idiot logic. I think there is only one player besides MHJ that they will take and that is Jayden Daniels. They will need to show love to Caleb but that is smoke which can give them two birds with one stone if their strategy falls right.
