  1. I like those traits, but the Score crew was saying "as long as you can live with his missed tackles". Sounds like it could be an issue? I do feel better taking a big time college player over the small school guys (Dugger/Chinn) because you have a better sense of how they should perform.
  2. We should have a deep list of targets by tomorrow. I'm still skepticle Pace brings out his golden wrench and tosses it to Goodell.
  3. Brandon Auyik to SF, they traded up with Minny. At least GB didn't get the speedy wr.
  4. How about SF, that Lynch is something. Trades back one spot, gets his guy and gains another pick. I hated the smug after the Bears made the mistake of trading up for Trubisky, but now I'm envious of not having a GM like that.
  5. Anything Lacanfora says has a 2% chance of being correct. I would jump on it using a 2021 4th or 5th. We should toss in Shaheen so they have baby and daddy gronk.
  6. Completely agree. The draft should not be about only todays needs. We will be lucky to see one player start day one. It takes time to adjust. The only position I see a player getting the opportunity is SS. This time is as good as any to get an OT because odds are Massie and Leno are both cut after this season. Now Ifedi or Spriggs may earn an extension to fill one of those spots but we could get a head start on having the other position up to speed. I think the OT pool is deep enough to get us a good one also. So most important is SS. Then WR, OT, CB, TE, RB in no particular order. I'd love to see them trade down once to get a 3rd to fill another position.
  7. His processing just didn't come together. I don't know if he can mentally put it together for this season and it may take going to a different team. Blame goes all around but he wasn't good enough to overcome the rest of those team deficiencies. Maybe if they have improved oline play and establish a run game, maybe he can look the part. But then you know once one link is broken, the results will be similiar.
  8. If that is what they need, it will cost 2 years worth of 1st RD picks. Hoping something triggers inside Mitch or Nick elevates and stays long term.
  9. Kiper today said. The Bears could take a WR like Reager at 43 then maybe a TE at 50, like Kmet. Or trade down to gain a 3rd and use that on Trautman. I can go with: 2-43 Reager WR 2-59 Chinn SS 3-84 Trautman TE (or Antonio Gibson RB)
  10. Just read Becton failed a drug test. I doubt it drops him down to the 2nd, but may drop him 5-10 slots
  11. Next week at this time, I hope we have some early Saturday action...meaning we have made some trades. I would be good hitting on 2 speed guys early, a SS and one lineman if we have 4 top 110. Then on to the 2021 draft LOL and having all 7 rounds to dream about.
  12. Doing many mocks, Muse always seemed like the last resort at SS but he didnt leave you feeling skepticle. You felt his floor was high enough to be alright, but not sure there much of a ceiling. Solid player and maybe someone we can compare to as Kwit as Stinger mentions
  13. The new kids in the block might put some pressure on the hold overs that only had to show up to be in charge. I hope they still draft a high end OT prospect because we have quite a few 1 or 2 year players and need some long term stability. But at least Pace is adding talent to the pot which should make the unit better as a whole.
  14. Their big board must not be too accurate. I do think we may see one impressive name slide to 43, then Pace will end up taking that TE Hopkins.
  15. No trades, it was a toss up between Hamler and Claypool and I always take Claypool. Levonta Taylor can be a CB imo. Wanted SS higher but had no one slotted high enough when picking.
  16. I think the Bears wanted to draft him if I recall right. When GB moved up (trying to recall) we ended up trading down a couple times and ended up with Whitehair. With additions of Ifedi and Spriggs, I have reduced the Bears to adding only one offensive lineman in the draft that projects at LT. They may be projecting the unlikeliness of moving down for additional picks. If we are lucky, we will be able to once to add a 3rd rd.
  17. He could be, just wondering if having a great oline would make any RB look good. SF did a nice job with their no names, while NYG Barkley and DAL Elliott watched from home. I thought we needed another RB early on. I am not opposed to taking a top one if available like Taylor. It comes down to holding on to Leno and Massie maybe longer than they should.
  18. Took the trades and went with this weeks flavor.
  19. I wouldn't be against putting the games on the RBs shoulders. Now let's look at SF, they had no name RBs. If the choice is Taylor RB or a 10 year starting OT/G which way should they go?
  20. I think ILB depth can be an easy FA plugin after the draft. It could be a draftee but for me it would have to be a BPA.
  21. With the front 7 the Bears have, they can get away with Tolliver, Burns, Robinson, Skrine, or Shelley playing the #2 WR. The QB will be quickly looking for his #1 or dump routes. It makes sense to hold off on CB unless a absolute steal falls. Is there a SS worth pick 43, Delpit seems logical. Dugger would be a slight push. Is there a WR? Tee Higgins yes, Ajyuk probably, and Reager maybe. Oline would be for depth/future unless they can beat out who we have. TE, I can see them investing but not at 43. Graham and Burton are most likely one year players. So what should they do with 43? BPA seems smart. Might not get a position of need but a player who elevates the team. Trade down and acquire more ammo to get more top 100 players, I like too. Or draft for need regardless of slight reaches? That might happen especially if we cannot move down.
  22. One reason I could see them go QB. Let's say Mitch gets first dibs to prove it and fails, he is done. Foles plays good enough and at the end of the season and options out of his contract, which we gave him the right. We are sitting with let's say a 2021 1st rd 24th pick and no QB on the roster unless they hit up Bray for a 3rd time. We may have the same shot getting a QB this draft as we would next unless we use ammo (future or additional picks) to move up. So that is why it would not surprise me if the Bears let Nagy help pick a QB this draft if he likes one. Not saying the odds of this happening are high, but it has to be thought out.
  23. PFF is harder to follow bc it blocks who you picked and it would be nice to sort by position sometimes. This one had a CB drop I like.
  24. Aiyuk would be a blessing at 43, so now I expect GB to select him. His speed with AR would be trouble and may be the counter blow to the Bears adding Quinn to the pass rush. Delpit would be our return counter which keeps Eddie Jackson deep. Dang chess, forcing ammo to be used.
  25. It would be nice to see them sign a vet FA, but i have seen anywhere from 7-11 million of cap left and 5+ needed for the draft pool. With a little over 2 weeks until draft, I think they are now entrenched in that. Some extra fine tuning will need to be in place with it being virtual. So player wise, I like Delpit early or maybe JR Reid from Georgia if they move down. Chinn is intriguing, a poor man's Harrison Smith, and I would be good with that. The good thing is they have options to open up cap if the miss on the draft. Out of all the positions, I see WR and S with the need for impacts right away. I think if they keep 43, there's a good chance they go WR unless Delpit falls. Reid, out of the Bears south farm system, is close to Roquan. I can see Pace taking him if he can acquire a 3rd rd pick with a move down. A week from now is when smoke screens start flying, should give us some entertainment.
