  1. Kiper today said. The Bears could take a WR like Reager at 43 then maybe a TE at 50, like Kmet. Or trade down to gain a 3rd and use that on Trautman. I can go with: 2-43 Reager WR 2-59 Chinn SS 3-84 Trautman TE (or Antonio Gibson RB)
  2. Just read Becton failed a drug test. I doubt it drops him down to the 2nd, but may drop him 5-10 slots
  3. Next week at this time, I hope we have some early Saturday action...meaning we have made some trades. I would be good hitting on 2 speed guys early, a SS and one lineman if we have 4 top 110. Then on to the 2021 draft LOL and having all 7 rounds to dream about.
  4. Doing many mocks, Muse always seemed like the last resort at SS but he didnt leave you feeling skepticle. You felt his floor was high enough to be alright, but not sure there much of a ceiling. Solid player and maybe someone we can compare to as Kwit as Stinger mentions
  5. The new kids in the block might put some pressure on the hold overs that only had to show up to be in charge. I hope they still draft a high end OT prospect because we have quite a few 1 or 2 year players and need some long term stability. But at least Pace is adding talent to the pot which should make the unit better as a whole.
  6. Their big board must not be too accurate. I do think we may see one impressive name slide to 43, then Pace will end up taking that TE Hopkins.
  7. No trades, it was a toss up between Hamler and Claypool and I always take Claypool. Levonta Taylor can be a CB imo. Wanted SS higher but had no one slotted high enough when picking.
  8. I think the Bears wanted to draft him if I recall right. When GB moved up (trying to recall) we ended up trading down a couple times and ended up with Whitehair. With additions of Ifedi and Spriggs, I have reduced the Bears to adding only one offensive lineman in the draft that projects at LT. They may be projecting the unlikeliness of moving down for additional picks. If we are lucky, we will be able to once to add a 3rd rd.
  9. He could be, just wondering if having a great oline would make any RB look good. SF did a nice job with their no names, while NYG Barkley and DAL Elliott watched from home. I thought we needed another RB early on. I am not opposed to taking a top one if available like Taylor. It comes down to holding on to Leno and Massie maybe longer than they should.
  10. Took the trades and went with this weeks flavor.
  11. I wouldn't be against putting the games on the RBs shoulders. Now let's look at SF, they had no name RBs. If the choice is Taylor RB or a 10 year starting OT/G which way should they go?
  12. I think ILB depth can be an easy FA plugin after the draft. It could be a draftee but for me it would have to be a BPA.
  13. With the front 7 the Bears have, they can get away with Tolliver, Burns, Robinson, Skrine, or Shelley playing the #2 WR. The QB will be quickly looking for his #1 or dump routes. It makes sense to hold off on CB unless a absolute steal falls. Is there a SS worth pick 43, Delpit seems logical. Dugger would be a slight push. Is there a WR? Tee Higgins yes, Ajyuk probably, and Reager maybe. Oline would be for depth/future unless they can beat out who we have. TE, I can see them investing but not at 43. Graham and Burton are most likely one year players. So what should they do with 43? BPA seems smart. Might not get a position of need but a player who elevates the team. Trade down and acquire more ammo to get more top 100 players, I like too. Or draft for need regardless of slight reaches? That might happen especially if we cannot move down.
  14. One reason I could see them go QB. Let's say Mitch gets first dibs to prove it and fails, he is done. Foles plays good enough and at the end of the season and options out of his contract, which we gave him the right. We are sitting with let's say a 2021 1st rd 24th pick and no QB on the roster unless they hit up Bray for a 3rd time. We may have the same shot getting a QB this draft as we would next unless we use ammo (future or additional picks) to move up. So that is why it would not surprise me if the Bears let Nagy help pick a QB this draft if he likes one. Not saying the odds of this happening are high, but it has to be thought out.
  15. PFF is harder to follow bc it blocks who you picked and it would be nice to sort by position sometimes. This one had a CB drop I like.
  16. Aiyuk would be a blessing at 43, so now I expect GB to select him. His speed with AR would be trouble and may be the counter blow to the Bears adding Quinn to the pass rush. Delpit would be our return counter which keeps Eddie Jackson deep. Dang chess, forcing ammo to be used.
  17. It would be nice to see them sign a vet FA, but i have seen anywhere from 7-11 million of cap left and 5+ needed for the draft pool. With a little over 2 weeks until draft, I think they are now entrenched in that. Some extra fine tuning will need to be in place with it being virtual. So player wise, I like Delpit early or maybe JR Reid from Georgia if they move down. Chinn is intriguing, a poor man's Harrison Smith, and I would be good with that. The good thing is they have options to open up cap if the miss on the draft. Out of all the positions, I see WR and S with the need for impacts right away. I think if they keep 43, there's a good chance they go WR unless Delpit falls. Reid, out of the Bears south farm system, is close to Roquan. I can see Pace taking him if he can acquire a 3rd rd pick with a move down. A week from now is when smoke screens start flying, should give us some entertainment.
  18. I think they are done with FAs until after the draft. They barely have enough cap space to sign that. If that is the case, I think they are looking to draft their starting SS. If they fail to, then back to rework some contracts and hit the market.
  19. That was a topic on 670 one morning, they were talking about should the Bears sign Stephen Gostowkski. There were times last year Nagy did not trust the Kicker, which he may have been hurt too, but went for it when 3 points would have helped. It was the last pick in the 7th, I took the top rated K which isnt a huge need in my eyes but if he is better than what we have why not. I agree QB will be taken the following year, but if there is a player Nagy, Defilippo, Lazzar and Ragone think can be an NFL QB in 2 years, bring him in. Our 2021 QBs will most likely be Foles, rookie, and Bray. I would feel better having a #2 being someone other than a rookie or Bray, but that is me. We know the fans will urge the Bears to start the rookie too soon.
  20. I think at some point they need to start addressing the QB position. Maybe not with Gordon, but find one between rounds 4-6. Waste the draft pick every other year if it one day lands the Bears a Tom Brady haha. We have 2 extra roster spots this year, one needs to be reserved for QB grooming only imo. I don't care if they keep 4 QBs, but I want to see a QB drafted by the Bears become great and win us another Superbowl.
  21. Looking at the roster this morning. This team is in dire need of talent at S. Then at RG, CB, WR. These are first concerns IMO. S- we have Eddie Jackson, that is it. Deon Bush, Jordan, Lucas, DHC, and Kentrell Brice behind him. RG-This may have been shored up with German "the tank" Ifedi (made that up) and Cowerd. LG we have Daniel's and Corey Levin. I still would like Ifedi to challenge OT. WR-LWR is Robinson, Slot is Miller, leaving RWR to Wims. Depth Riley at slot. Patterson, Ives, and Davis as other backups. CB-Fuller locked down with Tolliver, Burns competing opposite. Skrine and Shelley NB, and J Michael. I do see other needs at RB, OT, ILB, and QB. RB-Monty is the horse, Cohen but should be occasionally used in gadgets, and then Nall OT-Leno and Massie with Bars as backup. Ifedi maybe. ILB-Trevathan and Smith, with Iggy and Woods as only back ups. QB-Foles and Trubisky, which one most likely leaves after the season. Bray is 3rd. Which positions of need can they sacrifice with limited picks? Lets say we are able to trade down once with a 2nd and get back a 2nd and 3rd. Some needs will have to wait. 2a Jalen Reager WR - competes with Wims, get a guy who will threat the deep route to stretch the D. 2b-Ben Bredson RG-this moves Ifedi to challenge Leno and Massie at OT. 3-Kyle Dugger SS - frees Eddie to play FS. Think our D would feed him and he would feed the D, building momentum during games. 5 Anthony Gordan QB - need to groom a backup for 2021. Maybe be the next Minshew. 6- Harrison Hand CB - length, quick feet, and can challenge Tolliver/Burns but may need a year to bulk some strength. 6 Darryton Evan's RB - brings more speed without sacrificing height. Can catch too 7- Cameron Clark LT - depth to groom and push Leno 7 Rodrigo Blankenship K- is Peniro the answer? Needs good competition so we never have that fiasco again TE, OLB, ILB missed out but they have players under contract at TE/OLB. Bears will need to add a vet at ILB, which I am fine with.
  22. Right on. Quinn prefers to play in a 4-3 too, at RDE. Mack usually prefers the Left side, so we know part of this will work. It will be getting Quinn more comfortable in the 3-4 now.
  23. I think they move to a more traditional 4-3 in those situations. Mack/RRH DE, Goldman/Hicks DT. Skrine NB, Trevathan ILB, Smith OLB. Jackson/HHCD S Prince/Fuller CB.
  24. If it awakens Mitch, great. We have a young QB. If Foles comes in a flourishes, then I think we will be happy too. Hopefully with Graham, Burton, and Holtz we have production from TE. Draft OT and RG and Massie and Leno will be thinking this could be their last big check and have to step up with Ifedi in the mix also.
  25. That is how it should be and why Foles first spoke to Mitch and told him to bring it. Does Mitch stand down or does he elevate? Like cutting Gould, he took it as an insult and worked on improving. Graham took it as an insult getting cut, first time, by GB. It woke him up and he is out to redeem himself. Players get complacent if they don't have worries. Like Massie and Leno, no competition, so they mailed it in.
