Fields Press Conference
He is very smart, if I recall, one of the highest to score on the wonderlic. I don't know if he will learn how to see the field faster while in the pocket but if he does, then the sky is the limit. I watched the last two games live and it seems like he locks onto his first read. The line seems to give him time for the most part. Getsy needs to get the run game going, stretch the field early with a deep shot, and then have Fields run play action with quicker developing routes. That can get their young QB to gain confidence.

Mooney Concern...
I say give it one more game that we should do better with. But you are right that Mooney and Kmet both look terrible for whatever reason. The SF barely counts because a) the monsoon and b) terrible field position. GB controlled the clock and kept Fields contained so he couldnt get a rhythm going. Getsy should have kept running early then went to play action. They may have balanced the Time of Possession a little better.

Leatherwood to NFI 4wk, Schofield re-signed
Leatherwood supposedly has mono and will be out for a while. I am curious what the offense would look like with Patrick at C, Jenkins at RG, Whitehair LG, Jones LT, and Borum RT.

Logic be damned, I cant wait for Sunday
I am so optimistic, like every year, that I wanted to be there in person to see the debut. I also wanted to cross a trip to Lambeau off my bucket list and support the Bears there too so I did that too. Get my Bears fix in early this year why the weather should be decent.

It was such a strange deal. Hope he becomes a probowl level player for us.

Ted Phillips retiring at end of the year
I brought it up because Khan is University of Illinois Alumni and Lightfoot said if the Bears leave they will attract another team to take their place. The rumor mill instantly connected the dots that Chicago could pull the Jaquars in.

My understanding is his small sample size playing last year showed he struggled at OT and Poles and Flus were not sure were he would play so they were shopping him. I figured Jenkins would struggle because he had no training camp, little strength training since it was his back and when he was able to practice it was do or die because the Bears were not slowing down for him to get up to speed. If Jenkins was disgruntled, it was probably because he was told he will be sitting out as they shop him so he didn't get injured. No one offered the Bears enough value, so they moved to plan b. I assume they were shooting for a 1st or 2nd round pick.- Over analyzed
Does anyone else feel the media is pressuring the Bears to trade Tevin Jenkins? Something happened and they do not like him being first string RG. I've seen them say they are parading him for a trade. Why not embrace him. He was a highly ranked college draftee. The media has power to sway opinion and I hate seeing that.- Revisit the 2022 draft before the season
The draft was a little deeper this year also since many players opted out for covid the year before. I am glad Poles understood this and took as many late picks as he could get. Some of this guys may be slotted a round or two better in a weaker draft.- Camp notes
I only hope we can keep Getsy around for more than a year or two. I'm afraid once Fields blossoms, he will be a hot HC candidate.- Camp notes
Jaquan Brisker has surgery on injured hand. He is hopeful to be available for week 1.- Packers Team Building
I agree. Unless it comes from Jay Cutler?- Roquan Smith requests trade
Is Roquan a Ray Lewis talent that can lead a defense to Superbowls? If so, you do your best to sign him. If not, we have a headache because who else would trade high picks and then have to sign him to the highest ILB salary to make him happy.- Roquan Smith requests trade
I did not say he wasn't available, I only said that is who I wanted.- Roquan Smith requests trade
Another high draft pick disasters by Pace. I wanted G Nelson or McGlinchy.- T. Jenkins
At least he is back in practice. My take from an Poles earlier quote about fat percentages and that some young olinemen need to work on this to meet his percentages makes me think this was an example being set to show they are serious about this. Jenkins quotes found searching say he has a few drinks but he can burn that off fast. He must have been 10 days of working out off.- T. Jenkins
From 3 days ago, he tells an acquaintance he is fine. The media speculation can destroy people. Since he is not designated on any injury lists, I am still guessong his body fat percentage is not were they wanted it. I hope it is not back issues that they are leaving day to day.- Braxton Jones
I think some of the Bear defensive vets quit on the team the past few years and it wore off on the group. It seemed there were times it came from the top, Mack and Hicks. I kinda don't blame them either, wasting their all-pro health/talent on a D when the offense will go 3 and out. It was even called out by Jaylon Johnson on the air once too.- Braxton Jones
Pace put the Bears in a pinch and Fuller and Leno were the casualties. They signed E Jackson, Tagged ARob, signed Dalton with Foles signed still, converted Mack money, resigned Graham TE, converted some Whitehair money. Extended Santos. Some moves didn't help. I would have thought 1 extra year of Leno would have been great for Fields bit we were "contending".- Poor Mitch
Some quotes after Fields first pad day. ''Justin Fields could find few receivers in most cases, and when he did they didn't catch it or he missed the mark. Or often he just scrambled. On one red zone segment, Fields went 1-for-7 with one TD. The offense went to start a drive later and did a three-and-out before punting and giving way to the backups. Later, they failed again to move it and settled for a field goal in two-minute drill" They have always said defenses have the edge early in the process. Our young D is giving our O issues too.- Braxton Jones
I am excited to watch him grow. I think he will have a long serviceable career as Charles Leno Jr did. Now, since I said mentioned Leno, I didn't say they would play at the same level. I do think Jones has tools and size to be a few notches better.- T. Jenkins
I was upset about both trade ups initially when we took Fields and Jenkins only because of who pulled the trigger. I had no faith in Pace, but I do think he got those moves right even though we have no idea what is going on with Jenkins. Mark my speculation here on what I think is going on. Bears physicians failed Jenkins from participating. It might be all about his fat percentage because that is a new key they are using/measuring. Management would be upset he wasn't prepared blame maturity. The media speculates and rumor mills explode.- T. Jenkins
Whatever is going on, it does not look good on any side. For the amount of capital they have invested, they would be foolish to trade him for anything less than a 3rd round pick imo. If it is an injury issue, then they might need to specify. - Over analyzed
