  1. XFL and Draft simulating this Saturday. Liked a lot of these selections the simulator gave to me. NFL DRAFT GAME 2020 Logged in as: ashkumbear YOUR TEAM: CHICAGO BEARS GAME OVER! Your score is: 36810 (GRADE: A-) Your Picks: Round 2 Pick 11: Cole Kmet, TE, Notre Dame (A) Round 3 Pick 13 (DEN): Jake Fromm, QB, Georgia (A+) Round 3 Pick 19 (DEN): Bradlee Anae, DE/OLB, Utah (A) Round 3 Pick 31 (DEN): Ben Bredeson, OG, Michigan (A+) Round 4 Pick 41 (COMP): Levonta Taylor, CB, Florida State (A+) Round 5 Pick 13: Ben Bartch, OT, St. John's (A+) Round 5 Pick 17: Jordan Fuller, FS/SS, Ohio State (A+) Round 6 Pick 17: Anthony McFarland, RB, Maryland (A+) Round 6 Pick 21: Denzel Mims, WR, Baylor (A) Round 7 Pick 19: McTelvin Agim, DT, Arkansas (A+)
  2. Or before getting there, maybe in the mound again for a MLB team.
  3. Or Nagy can create a running offense that compliments his players to not throw the Defense away. His offensive creation may blow defenses away if he ever has all the right pieces to make it work, but the 80 pass 20 run is not fooling anyone right now.
  4. Would Carr fit in an RPO? The Bears are not making adjustments to suit Trubisky, would they make them to suit Carr? There is speculation that Brady might end up in LV also. I would wait it out and let them cut Carr.
  5. Many teams use the concepts. The opposing defenses see the offense running out two TEs which might dictate run, so they may send out or leave in a LB. The U is going to be the more talented, which doesnt mean they cannot block. They can line up over the OT or motion out wide or sometime lineup as a RB. The Y is usually the stronger blocker but occasionally sneaks out on a route. The thing is, you have to run the ball. Marching out two TEs doesnt sell run when it is known it will be pass anyways.
  6. Y is your traditional inline blocking TE. U is basically a slot WR but a TE. Lines up anywhere along the line.
  7. Not much beef on 79" of frame. From Windy City Gridiron: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.windycitygridiron.com/platform/amp/2020/2/19/21144583/chicago-bears-sign-former-chiefs-browns-tight-end-demetrius-harris-free-agency The 6-foot-7, 230-pound Harris has impressive length for the tight end position, and his starting experience gives the Bears some much-needed experience to their current group of players. Touted for being a talented blocking tight end during his time with the Chiefs, he fits the in-line ‘Y’ tight end role.
  8. This fills the blocking Y TE position while Burton, Holtz, and Horstad can play the U. Raymond might be in the mix yet and Shaheen and Braunecker will fight for a roster spot. If they add another TE, it will be a draft prospect.
  9. One player Castillo may convince the Bears to draft is Runyan Jr. He coached him at Michigan and coached his dad at Philly.
  10. The Bears need more than added competition for the TE position, they need legitimate starters. I don't know much about Harris, but trust he is starter material as a blocking TE.
  11. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/2020-nfl-free-agency-ranking-the-10-best-free-agent-offensive-tackles-led-by-anthony-castonzo-jack-conklin/ Who you thinking? Castanzo? I am all about upgrading, but to upgrade a player who recently signed makes it even more costly
  12. Or a WR to catch a few deep passes early on to make defenses respect the whole field. That could help the run but we probably wouldn't call any run plays anyways.
  13. It is all a bit unrealistic, but it is the time to dream. Most of these guys will go higher than slotted here but to see the Bears land most of the position needs would be nice. After watching KC, the Bears need speed (Reager/McFarlans). They need the playcaller to be a little smarter and the QB to feel confident.
  14. Made a trade with Atlanta, our two 2nds for their two, a 3rd and 4th. Could fill a lot of needs, especially if these guys are all available were slotted. Your score is: 35078 (GRADE: B+) Your Picks: Round 2 Pick 15 (ATL): Jalen Reagor, WR, TCU (A) - so taking the top off makes sense, let's see how it helps. Round 2 Pick 23 (ATL): Prince Tega Wanogho, OT, Auburn (A-) -could become a good LT, challenges Leno/Massie day one. Round 3 Pick 14 (ATL): Brycen Hopkins, TE, Purdue (A+)- a playmaking TE to develop to replace and push Burton. Round 4 Pick 13 (ATL): Ben Bredeson, OG, Michigan (A+)- road grading G, great chance to start right away. Round 4 Pick 41 (COMP): Levonta Taylor, CB, Florida State (A+) lockdown corner, lacks size but can become a star on this D if pass rush exists. Round 5 Pick 13: Patrick Johnson, DE/OLB, Tulane (A+)-nice skill set to rotate and eventually replace Floyd. (Edit:just watched some game film-pass in him) Round 5 Pick 17: Anthony McFarland, RB, Maryland (A)-more speed to mix in with Monty and Cohen Round 6 Pick 17: Antoine Brooks, FS/SS, Maryland (A+)-in the box S, can start off exceeding in ST, play nickle, or might start at SS. Round 6 Pick 21: Riley Neal, QB, Vanderbilt (B+) - big arm QB to develop. Round 7 Pick 19: Rodrigo Blankenship, K, Georgia (A+)- best K in draft.
  15. I agree. The Bears are not going to put the offense and QB in jeopardy with an unknown LT. They might bring in competition and take a look, but this player would have to prove undoubtedly that they would be better. No NFL team is going to let a average/decent LT hit FA and to find a LT in the middle of round 2 makes it unrealistic. Not saying they won't draft a LT, but to find one that can be ready to start (strength, knowledge of plays) year one is difficult. Hopefully they find one in the draft that scares the sh@t out if Leno and puts him on notice.
  16. It is good to know there is a process, but then again the people he has to ask have a bad track record.
  17. I wonder if NFL teams have protocols in place for situations like that. Knowing this could be Paces last chance, he could trade multiple future picks away. That could really hurt the team long term and make it difficult finding a replacement GM.
  18. It hits most positions of need. They need to trade a second and gain a 3rd and then I see a S. Can they find another Amos? This will be a heck of an offseason with little resources in cap and picks. Narrow the search and have a firm grip, don't leave your boundaries. Pray for health and they can make some noise.
  19. Trading down off the bat put me in a handy cap, but I could be happy here. Georgia north: Fromm, Wims, Riley, and speedster Robertson. Carter is an aggressive CB, Johnson seems like he can become a pass rush opposite of Mack, Feaster adds speed at RB, Prater G/C depth to develop. Gazaino to rotate at OLB. Hopkins to become our TE playmaker and Prince to anchor OT. Your score is: 33909 (GRADE: Your Picks: Round 2 Pick 18: Prince Tega Wanogho, OT, Auburn (B+) Round 2 Pick 20 (LAR): Jake Fromm, QB, Georgia (A-) Round 3 Pick 20 (LAR): Brycen Hopkins, TE, Purdue (A+) Round 4 Pick 41 (COMP): TJ Carter, CB, Memphis (A+) Round 5 Pick 13: Patrick Johnson, DE/OLB, Tulane (A+) Round 5 Pick 17: Demetris Robertson, WR, Georgia (A+) Round 6 Pick 17: Joe Gaziano, DE/OLB, Northwestern (A+) Round 6 Pick 21: Tavien Feaster, RB, Clemson (A-) Round 7 Pick 19: Colton Prater, OG, Texas A&M
  20. I know it's not popular, but since most of the oline is locked down with a big portion of cap, they could draft a speed WR early if there is one available and use the other 2nd pick on a TE/RG/OLB. 2a Jalen Reager WR TCU 2b Thadeous Moss TE LSU 4 Ben Bredeson G Mich 5 Akeem Davis Gather OLB App St 6a DeeJay Dallas RB Miami 6b. Tony Pride CB ND 7 Charlie Heck OT UNC
  21. Let's ask Mike Glennon how far you can trust words from Pace. I would like to see a QB taken and you can find a gem once in a while later in the draft. Here's to finding another Minshaw and then signing a savy vet aka Brady ?
  22. I'd love to see a light bulb turn on for our drafted qb and him succeed for the next 7-10 years, but if you can get them two do it.
  23. Blazing speed at wr would be nice, but fixing the oline and establishing a run game are just as critical. They signed undrafted fa Hall last year and they didnt see a fit bc he was a one trick pony. This is a deep wr class, so maybe they can find a talent on day 3.
  24. Andy Heck's kid plays LT for North Carolina entering the draft too.
  25. To go further...you really cannot attack until you have the lead and it wasn't often they had a chance to. When you attack, you leave someone open. Pagano was fine for what he was dealt
