I thought that this was a very good read. I was glad I had a few minutes at the shop this morning so I could read this article. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...-bear03.article
  2. If we beat any of the following contenders, say Baltimore. Then Lovie will be able to say that he was able to beat both the defending champions and Baltimore in the same season.
  3. In regards to the whole Cutler and Urlacher situation, IMHO Brian is JEALOUS. Yes I said it. I believe he is because he has been the face of this franchise since day 1 basically and now he no longer is.
  4. I am sure there would be a dozen teams that would try to acquire because he has talent. Keep in mind that there are a lot of coaches out there that have so much belief in themselves that they can turn any player around.
  5. But that is why this would be a perfect time to play him and find out if he can play.
  6. In order for the team to eat $11 mil, we probably need to lose the remainder of the games. I was watching Chicago Tribune Live last night and although I can't stand them they all agree that more than likely they will be back for 1 more year and then we will Fire JA and Lovie.
  7. I see your thinking on that lol. Sad, extremely sad. Gilbert would be REALLY interesting considering his athleticism. I wish we would use him so we can see what he could possibly bring to the table.

And the fact the I just found out that this is just a 1 yr deal. So basically is a 5 game contract. What could he possibly do for us unless the coaching staff thinks for some odd and unknown reason that we still have a shot.

I found the report on ESPN just a second ago. However it doesn't say much. http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/nfl/news/story?id=4704413

I saw the report on my sprint phone from NFL Mobile Live.
  11. I agree. I just can not see either the players or the owners really wanting a no cap season.
  12. I like the 3-4 but we don't have a NT that can command a constant double team. We do have the LB's but we need something on the Line.
  13. I don't have any ideas about D cord, but I have always like Del Rio and would love to see him brung him. What type of system does he prefer to run do you remember. My old age is failing me once again lol.

I am really shocked at this news. Any help is good at this point but WHY NOW? According to the Chicago Tribune Lance Briggs had an MRI on Monday, and the initial test confirmed that he suffered a mild left knee sprain but that expect him to return for Sunday's game. It also went on to say that he could have returned to the game on Sunday. I like what Cato June might be able to bring to the table. I have always liked him and he knows the system very well. Does anyone happen to know about the Contract that he signed.
  15. I would like to see the Bears switch things up on the oline with Williams moving back to LT and having Schaeffer move to RT and see what the new look OLINE could do for the rest of the season. The final 5 games is to look what we have for the future.
  16. I would like to see anyone spank the Vikes in the 2nd rd of the playoffs. This would mean that even with Favre the Vikes are 1 and down in the playoffs.
  17. I remember part of the performance is of him being the #1 WR and not the slot.
  18. Ponder this one for a second. If Lovie is gone we pursue Shanahan to be the HC and then try to bring in USC's offensive coordinator who was Cutler's QB coach at Denver. This would be catering to Cutlers needs at least in the coaching aspect of things.

You could also go back and do the same thing with the defense though as well. Although Cutler had 4 INT's in the GB we still had the lead late in that game. Against Philly we had the lead twice in the 2nd half and both times the Defense surrenders TD's. The defense allowed 300 yards and 24 pts to the Vikings in the 1st half. Also surrended 31 pts to both the Bengals and the Cardinals. The defense ranks as one of the worst on 3rd down conversions. The defense also ranks as one of the worst in the red zone. Generally speaking this year the only time the Defense can get off the field is when they allow the opponent to score.
  20. I usually cheer for the Colts but at this point I would like to see the Saints and Colts in the superbowl and both undefeated cuz then someone will be able to shut up the dolphins.
  21. I fear that you are right. I was thinking about that earlier. I never wish that we would lose all the remaining games but that would probably be the only way something like this where to happen. At the very least at the end of the Turner should be gone and we need to hire a defensive coordinator.
  22. At this point I don't care if they hire replacements to finish the year. The year is over with anyways. Does it really matter? I think for a minute about purposely losing the rest of the games to help out in the draft but then I am quickly reminded we don't even have a 2nd. Thanks JA. Please tell me that Adams is doing magnificent enough to be worth a 2nd.
  23. NFO, we have been agreeing for awhile now, which is just beyond scary considering how things were when I first joined the board so many moons ago. I believe OLine is the #1,2,3 needs. Then we MUST fix this defense. I know the media and most so called fans that don't pay attention to game will just look at the fact that Cutler threw 2 more picks. How about the fact the defense allowed 537 yards? Allowed Favre to throw for 392 yards, just 10 yards short of a career high. QB's in the 40's shouldn't be having career days especially against a team that has always prided itself on defense. How about the fact that Favre had more passing attempts than we had offensive plays. We only had 38 offensive plays. Part of that is on the offense but the D couldn't get of the field at all. The Cover 2 or whatever it has been this year is being referred to as the Cover 0, because it simply lets mediocre offenses look good. If we want to win more games we need OLINE and D help. At this point I would listen to all trades except those involving Cutler. He is the ONLY one that is not tradeable. Even Forte, see what we can get for him. Blow this thing up and lets start with the coaching staff. Sorry but that is my rant of the day.
