I'll try to be as honest as possible and regardless of where these guys ended up going based on what I think I would have done: 10) Broderick Jones, OT, Georgia - Wright is the better RT right but if you're spending a top ten pick on an OT, I would have taken the guy who projects as a potential better LT but can still be an upgrade right now at RT. 53) Tuli Tuipulotu, DE, USC - Given the run on DEs, I would have snagged my last potential impact guy (who ended up going right after this pick). 56) Adetomiwa Adebawore, DT, Northwestern - He ended up going much later than most expected. I would have certainly taken him here (though I would have strongly considered Darnell Washington too, not knowing about his injury concerns). 64) Clark Phillips, CB, Utah - A guy I really liked going into the draft who also seemed to slide quite a bit. This would put him in the slot and Gordon on the outside (whereas the Stevenson pick likely puts him outside and Gordon in the slot). 115) AT Perry, WR, Wake Forest - Another guy who went much later than I figured. I would have strongly considered him in the third and definitely would have taken him here. 133) Luke Wypler, C, Ohio State - Ended up going in the 6th but I would have gladly taken him here to compete at C or at least backup at G. 148) Antonio Johnson, S, Texas A&M - Another guy who wasn't really on my radar but I would have taken here to be the 3rd safety. 165) Cory Trice, CB, Purdue - Another guy I liked going into the draft that apparently other teams didn't, but he's got great size and skill for press coverage. 218) Andre Carter, Edge, Army - Went undrafted but the Bears need pass rushing and he's worth developing (and hearing his name called). 258) Sean Tucker, RB, Syracuse - I have my pick of guys I like at the end of the draft at RB but he edges out Keaton Mitchell and Xazavien Valladay. I'll have to remember to come back to this thread in three years to see how I did . . .

I have to admit, while I have no problem with the pick, I don’t really see it with Roschon as a starter. I don’t know how many starters in todays NFL run a 4.58 40 but I’m guessing not a ton. I certainly appreciate all the things he can do and I think he will be a very useful back, but I think you are going to end up with a guy who can get you chunks of yards but doesn’t really break big runs, which is something we saw with Monty. I see him as our best goal line option, but I don’t think he’s as elusive as, say, Nick Chubb. He’s more Rhamondre Stevenson (or, dare I say, Jordan Howard) I think, which is a fine player and quasi-starter, but I think Foremsn and even Herbert have more big play ability.

Or maybe you use Roschon or Homer, two good pass protection backs who can catch the ball, as the 5th WR, maybe even closer to the line of scrimmage, so they can act like WRs or block as needed.
-
I heard that Monday is the day that you can start signing free agents without having it affect your compensatory picks. I feel like we aren’t getting any anyway because of the guys we’ve signed, but maybe we see some activity then or after rookie minicamp.

Looking at how the board fell it was either Wright and then Dexter or Carter and either Wanya Morris, Tyler Steen, or Blake Freeland at RT.

Adam can probably update this his fancy way, but I'm penciling in the following for the roster: QB: Fields, Walker RB: Herbert, Foreman, Johnson, Homer FB: Blasingame WR: Moore, Mooney, Claypool, Jones, Scott, St. Brown TE: Kmet, Tonyan, Allen C : Patrick, Whitehair, Kramer OG - Davis, Jenkins, Carter OT: Jones, Wright, Borom, Leatherwood DE: Green, Walker, Gipson, Robinson DT: Billings, Jones, Dexter, Pickens LB: Edmunds, Edwards, Sanborn, Sewell, Weatherford CB: Johnson, Gordon, Stevenson, Blackwell, Vildor, Smith S: Jackson, Brisker, Hicks, Williamson P: Gill K: Santos LS: Scales Besides the obvious need for a starting DE, I could see us being in the market for a better third safety (unless they see Terell Smith helping there) and maybe some OL depth.

I don't know most of these guys, but Badget is interesting as he was probably the best undrafted QB this year. He'll only need to beat out Peterman to maybe make the practice squad. I hope they give him the chance.

Wondering if it’s a situation where the Bears aren’t addressing it late because they don’t have a guy they love, but they know that by not addressing it it makes their situation more attractive to UDFAs. Still I’d love to see them take a chance on Andre Carter and let the Army guy hear his name called.

First Bears draft pick I’ve never heard of before. That’s an improvement over some previous years. Seems like a PS guy.
-
I thought Trice might have been the better fit, but I’m good with Smith.
-
Brandon Joseph would make some sense as well.
-
At this point I’d take a flier on Andre Carter. Probably the highest upside of the edges left.
-
Tyler Scott another guy from the list.
-
Sounds like he’s a great dude too. Does all the little things, leader in the locker room, will play special teams.
-
I’m the trade down boat, but some intriguing guys on the board for sure.
-
I say trade down - the offers should be good and I don’t see a guy on the board I just have to have. If you force me to choose, give me Isaiah McGuire, Luke Wypler, or AT Perry.
-
Worth noting that all the Bears’ picks so far have come from this list. Guys who are left: Adetomiwa Adebawore DT Northwestern Dylan Horton DE TCU KJ Henry DE Clemson Deslin Alexandre DL Pittsburgh Dawand Jones OT Ohio State Jaelyn Duncan OT Maryland Jordan McFadden OT Clemson Tyler Beach OL Wisconsin Dontayvion Wicks WR Virginia Xavier Hutchinson WR Iowa State Tyler Scott WR Cincinnati Payne Durham TE Purdue Brandon Joseph S Notre Dame

Obviously it’s a round earlier for both, but I’m getting flashback to the year they took Tommie Harris and Tank Johnson.
-
I don’t know where the sacks are going to come from on this team.
-
Based on the edge guys left in the draft, I hope Poles dials up Yannick Ngakoue.
-
Another DT - Zacch Pickens. Like him a lot. He’s more the 3T than Dexter IMO. You have your interior DL of the future. Not sure where the edge sacks are going yo come from, but I’ll take it.
-
Watch the Bears use their 3rd round pick on Byron Young from Tennessee, who is 25 - just like Velus Jones last year.

The cupboard got bare at DE in a hurry.
