But when a team is on the clock the pressure is different. BTW what did Carolina pay to get Darnold?
-
Agreed and to be honest there may be more than Leno that falls on the June 1st cut list and what is acquired during the draft because Christian Jones was an under the radar signing and seeing Trevathan exposed in coverage repeatedly at the end of the season makes him and Miller cut candidates if they don't get moved at draft time and they pick up players at both those positions.
-
Two positions I had trouble finding good prospects at my picks without trying a couple of trades was WR and ILB. I have the feeling that they think that Ridley will step up because, he needs to. In a couple previous mocks I did I liked Amon -Ra St Brown but with me trading the 2nd rounder took me off that target because that is the round that the run will start at WR IMO.

Pace has had me totally fooled throughout his tenure, yet I still try to figure out his mindset. This is my last attempt before the draft. 20. Tevin Jenkins OT Oklahoma St. Hoping this puts Leno Jr. on the June 1st cut list 32. Pace trades back into the first round gives up 52 in 2021, 2nd in 2022 and Anthony Miller Kyle Trask QB Fla 83. Shaun Wade CB Ohio St. If his meds check out we have 2 young CBs for the future. 164. Alaric Jackson OT Iowa if Pace is in true job security mode another OT prospect for depth and starting potential is needed. 204. Jonathon Cooper Edge Ohio St. Robert Quinn consider yourself one and done 208. Tyree Gillespie Safety Missouri This is where Pace finds gems in the Secondary. 221. Kerry Yeboah TE Ole Miss This would not be a Pace draft or offseason without a TE addition. 228. Rachad Wildgoose CB Wisconsin The typical late round special teammer. This is my attempt at trying to figure out what Pace would do and I know I don't have a clue but he keeps us talking!

I still think that trading back in to the first round to draft a QB may be a route Pace chooses and still secure a 5th year option.
-
Kyle Trask at 52 but, I got a feeling Pace will trade back into the 1st to get the 5 year contract on a QB
-
Jason I was with you on Dak and we both had him mocked before he actually went.
-
Pace hasn't traded back in the first round yet.
-
Don't you get the feeling that a QB with a 2nd round grade may have a 1st round grade on Pace's big board? This would allow him to have a QB on a rookie deal for 5 years and in his mind justify the pick.
-
I'm still hoping for no trade up and Trask in round 2

The reason why this cap crunch has happened is not what Pace has done with contracts but, what the pandemic did to cause the NFL as a whole to lose revenue and causing the cap to decrease instead of increase like it has done yearly. No GM signed contracts anticipating that to happen. The Bears aren't the only team releasing high priced veterans.

One of the original allegations occurred in the therapist's personal home which doesn't make sense that law enforcement wasn't called.
-
There's reports that the Bears have been sniffing around OT prospect from Northern Iowa Spencer Brown.6/8 314. They talked with him at the Senior Bowl and at his pro day. He is a projected day 2 or 3 pick.

When Jim Finks is brought up I can only think about him going out with a bang in his last draft 83 which was the cornerstone draft of that 85 team. Covert, Gault,Thayer, Duerson,Bortz and Dent. 2 HOF plus 3 Pro Bowlers. If I remember correctly Jim Finks got ushered out and had a year or 2 in the Cubs front office then to New Orleans for a couple of years then the league office. Vanisi was a Ditka ally and would side with the coach in personnel matters which was not to Mike McCaskey's liking so he was eventually forced out and then Mikey started putting his 2 cents in on personnel leading to Jim Harbaugh being a first round pick for the team in 87. 88 Brad Muster and Wendell Davis, 89 Trace Armstrong and Donnell Woolford and then 90 the infamous pick of Mark Carrier who Mikey secretly negotiated a contract with the prospect before drafting him thus changing some of the rules to the draft in the years following.

As of right now Fitzgerald is a free agent.

The tires kick were Ifedi.

If this happens, could Sam Ehlinger be in their sites also?
-
Ian Rappaport is reporting that the Bears are showing increased interest in Andy Dalton. With Bill Lazor on staff this can't be dismissed as just another Bears' QB rumor.
-
I read a report that said the Bears carried over about 6M in cap money from 2020. Can anyone confirm this?
-
My biggest problem was trying to find a SS with a close value in some of the early picks and there were none I liked later so I'm expecting Pace to continue his 1 yr rental trend at the position and I'm expecting the kid they drafted last year Gibson(# 99) to step up as well as Vaughters who the just reupped.
-
I actually saw him play a year or two. Yes I remember Jimmy "The Greek" Snyder and how the gambling line and picks were introduced way back.He lost his job in a way that is very frequent today and I believe that he got ambushed. The quotes attributed to him in a casino after he had a couple of cocktails was unprecedented at the time. Most of the reports would keep things off the record back then.

I got mixed up with the comp picks but I know that we have 8 total and of course the number4 is 148 in round 5
-
As usual I attempt a no trade mock when I know Pace loves to move around. 1.Christian Darrishaw OT Va Tech 2. Kyle Trask QB Fla 3. Amon-Ra St Brown WR USC 4. Alarik Jackson OT Iowa 6a. Shakar Brown CB Mich St 6b. Khyiris Tonga DT BYU 6c Jemar Jefferson RB Oregon St 7. Tuf Borland ILB Ohio St

Just like the packer game with them playing for top seed, the Saints get Kamara back because the game is Sunday and not Saturday. The Saints also are out to prove that their home playoff lost to the Vikings in the first round was a blip, so they will be trying to dominate the Bears.
