Here's why I chose Wims. With Josh Bellamy finally gone the need for another Gunner has opened up. He has the size and speed to pull it off and if he can be another Red Zone option because the TE's are a question mark right now. There's a reason why the Bears keep going after players from UGA. I think they have a good relationship with the coaching staff.

My only problem with Simms' rankings is there are rookies on his list.BWTBS Mitch has yet to prove he is a consistent franchise QB!
-
I'm Going to ask everyone if Mitch played like a top 20 QB the whole season or better? He helped get the Bears to the playoffs but, the defense set the tone and carried this team.imo

Angelo when its all said and done may have drafted a couple HOF players Tillman and Briggs. So for his tenure he did okay and made one of the most memorable trades in team history! His team he constructed also reached a SB.
-
He probably would scratch out his signature 2 times.lol

On PFT's Chris Simms Top 40 QB Rankings he comes in at 20 which is okay by me.

Watching McMahon giving Trubisky "The Head Band " during the celebration and Trubisky putting it on was cool!

When I think of what Gruden might do with Josh Jacobs might be similar to his best WCO back Charlie Garner from past Raider teams who one year had 90 plus catches. I won't sleep on Jacobs in that regard but, feel Montgomery might be in a slightly better situation because of the talent surrounding him that have been in this system for a year already.

The 46 defense which was Buddy Ryan's signature scheme was with the team in 1978 under head coach Neal Armstrong, so the scheme was not new it just took GM Jim Finks time to draft the athletes Buddy needed. The Scheme was named for safety Doug Plank who was drafted prior to Buddy's arrival and originally teamed up with Gary Fencik and replaced by Dave Duerson.. IMO Buddy stumbled on to his success based strictly on Papa Bear retaining him and having a few HOF players to work with. Prior to that Ryan was tough on rookies and preferred less talented players like Len Walterschied and Jerry Muckensterm over Fencik and Wilbur Marshall. In his rookie year Wilbur Marshall was a gunner on special teams just like William Perry was called a wasted draft pick and used on offense before he was inserted at DT and Hampton was moved to DE replacing Mike Hartenstine. Buddy's scheme really had 2 good years here and then he was gone.

There is on production. So instead of mentioning David Terrell aka Kevin White I should have said Robocop James Thorton territory.

A guy who was selected in the top ten of the first round is expected to breakout but, a guy who was drafted in the 7th round and wasn't expected to make the roster isn't. Even 2nd rd picks are expected to make an impact .Nichols is also on my radar because I see him making Bullard on the bubble. Mitch at 2, Floyd at 9 and Smith at 8 plus Miller that was traded up for and basically your 2nd rounder this year should all step up.
-
What has Shaheen done that makes you so optimistic about him a year from now? He has a injury history just like White and has yet to do what Goldman or even Miller has done.
-
I disagree with that because Hampton was All Pro at both DT and DE. Covert has yet to make the HOF so that I agree and I never saw Fortmann play so I can't judge him!
-
Shaheen Is entering Kevin White Territory!
-
Agreed and no matter how big of a jerk Jay Cutler who owns all the Bears passing records is 85th and Devin Hester is 20th!
-
This list was released yesterday and both Eddie Jackson and Khalil Mack are on it! That's just wrong! I have no idea how to post the link so I'm asking for your help please!

Sowell actually had a catch last season as a tackle eligible for either a TD or 2 point conversion and was involved in one of the more controversial plays of last season where Trubisky tried to force a throw to him and started the Nagy trying to be too cute during games comments.

I remember being a little upset when the Bears choose Howard over Langford at the RB position. With that being said , I have decided to trust this GM especially in the rounds he picked players this year.
-
The only reason this team didn't advance in the playoffs is because of the double doink. You say agonize and I say improve the position.
-
I would think the biggest competition for signing both Callahan and Amos would be Denver with both players being familiar with Fangio's scheme and defensive staff.
-
Agreed. When he is being asked to cover a RB that is quick twitch, you're not helping him develop.
-
With the Parkey misses over 50 yards and the penalties plus 2 TDs given up on a punt block and a KR. Supposedly he is a disciple of Dave Toub but, so far I don't see any connection.
-
It's really hard for me as a 50 plus year Bear fan to criticize the development of any QB because this franchise has never done it in my lifetime. What I have seen from Trubisky is marked improvement in his short passes and minimal improvement on his deep passes. He seems very good at the shuffle type passes and RPO plays but, he is below average on sideline throws and throws when his receiver is wide open.

Leonard Floyd has a basketball player's body on the football field coupled with the fact that he played most of the season with a club or brace on his hand and then asked by our revered DC to drop in coverage against a quick twitch RB. What should we be able to gather from that? Even Mack was dropping into coverage bad ankle and all.
