When you look at the Bears defensive alignment you can't tell who is playing what LB position because all are in the middle of the formation on almost every down but, on Roquan's pick he looked like he was definitely the WLB and made a play on the ball like the ones we have seen do it. Brooks, Marshall and Briggs.

The worst thing for me, who is a supporter of Fields is that I can visibly see that he is misreading coverage. The best pass play of the game was a throw to ESB that was schemed very well, where Fields threw a dime and read the coverage right. Then there was the forced throw to Mooney that was picked with 3 defenders surrounding him. Watching what Jacksonville did in the offseason and how Trevor Lawrence has done so far is what bothers me the most. He and Fields were the top High School prospects at the position at the same time. I want so bad for Fields to break the Ohio State QB stigma because I'm tired of hearing that because there are so many schools that have QBs that crash and burn in the NFL. How many QBs from Kunztown ST have started a game in the NFL since Eric Hipple?

Think about it! Chicago had 2 teams. One of the Patriarchs of the NFL forced them out. No franchise wields more power in regard to direct competion than the Bears. I am amazed at how much crap the mayor of Chicago talks without researching the topic before she speaks. If she can't stop them from moving, how can she stop them from influencing the NFL from block another franchise from coming to town?

You all know that I keep it close to the vest when it comes to predicting what the Bears will do on Game Day. I am so pissed at how guys like Dan Orlovsky, Chris Simms and KeyShawn Johnson have the ability and research to determine who has a solid roster or not and the two who were QBs sucked when they played in the league. Johnson was not a factor as a WR with the Jets and the Buccaneers defense was the driving force when he was able to get a SB ring. He was a number 1 overall pick and he sucked imo.

You are correct and we are seeing a GM take control of the roster that we haven't seen since Jim Finks was the Bears GM. He had a solid plan that he stuck to and Poles looks like he is doing the same.
-
The main guys fueling most of the Bears' rumors is David Kaplan, Adam Schefter and Mike Garafolo. This Summer all 3 have been very wrong.
-
Schofield was not a surprise to me after the first preseason game he was awful in it and the staff thought it also. Coley is a surprise to me. I don't remember seeing Edwards in the preseason games.
-
I think Schoefield gets cut because of how quickly he fell behind Jenkins who never played the position plus, when Patrick returns that frees up Mustipher for a dual role as backup center and guard with Carter and Thomas being Poles draft picks probably being kept on the original 53, that leaves one swing tackle position to fill ( Davenport)? Saturday is going to be a big day for a lot of fringe players.

I'm going to say what I continue to say at my work place. Roquan Smith is not better than: Doug Buffone not HOF Otis Wilson not HOF Wilbur Marshall Not HOF Lance Briggs not HOF He is a talented but weird, thinking player who isn't durable or mentally stable enough for the Bears to guarantee significant money to.
-
I was impressed with Tristan Ebner, Jaquan Brisker, Jack Sanborn and of course Braxton Jones.
-
AZ we go back a bit and I believe the national media has Fields in the bottom of their 2nd year QB rankings. Meanwhile Trevor Lawrence a generational talent is getting a pass.
-
The over analysis of these second year QBs has been over the top this year! Why? Because there isn't a first round rookie to focus on.
-
I have quietly maintained that if you rate Smith versus 3 non HOF Bears LBs Doug Buffone, Otis Wilson, Wilbur Marshall and Lance Briggs I don't care what PFF says he has not performed better than the 3 players I mentioned. I say Poles stand your ground. Smith has been weird every off season since being drafted.

Whitehair got a vet day off, both Reiff and Schofield are in ramp up mode.

Quinn still being here puts a solid veteran on every level of the defense. I like the thought of him mentoring Gibson, Snowden and Robinson. I also believe that there are three young players to watch on the defense. Tonga as the "Under Tackle" the Tank Johnson role and my X factor is Mario Edwards Jr at 3 Technique.
-
Eddie Jackson is similar to Eddie Goldman. Got his " Bag" and then smooth sailing. He has been riding that 2018 season for 3 years. The team needs to see that no one is above the team and show your worth on the field and not in the media.

The 2021 Bengals flew under the radar and were predicted to be last so, I like our chances.
-
IMO the Bengals staff and a lot of their players were familiar with their scheme since it wasn't the first year of them being together on offense and defense. I really see no comparison between the two teams besides both Qbs getting pummeled.
-
Truthfully I'm hoping for a surprise season, so they can flip the "Bird" to all the predictors who, are constantly predicting gloom and doom.
-
I took two trips to Bourbonaiss I enjoyed the trips but, nothing compares to the time I was on the Pro Football Weekly site back in my AOL days and I see a post encouraging me to join Bearstalk. And Pix I believe it was you that posted there and I came over and haven't been anywhere else since. Pix I hope you are doing well and can enjoy this upcoming season because I think this is going to be a surprise season to all of us because of the negative surrounding the team.
-
Quinn has absolutely no leverage, so it only points to our GM making him an example for the rest of his roster. You are not going to punk me! The scheme that the Bears are going to implement is perfect for him to do what he does best and he has never been a difference maker. I think you stand down on this trade request!
-
I look at this as an addition to the WR room and nothing more. Rarely have we seen players discarded by NE prosper elsewhere.
-
The firing via phone call while on vacation seems very odd, but also precise about what kind of message is being sent by both the GM and Coach. A couple of players don't show up for OTAs and when one does, he's working with the second team. A highly drafted player with high expectations gets demoted to second team for whatever reason, leading me to believe it's a very new day. The GM has made sweeping changes to the scouting staff and looks like he doesn't need a "Player Liaison" to make players talk to the coach or GM directly. IMO
-
If you keep track of what both Mooney and Fields have said about this coaching without directly referring to the previous staff, you can tell something was amiss. The part that keeps me scratching my head is, this team trade a lot of draft capital to move up and draft Fields and he gets no reps with the 1s during TC, if I were a GM that made that sacrifice and realized that was happening, Nagy would have been in my office and issued an ultimatum. That's why Pace got fired because didn't assert his will on Fox or Nagy when he spent valuable draft capital on 2 1st round QBs. Instead he let both coaches say Mike Glennon and Andy Dalton 2 castoffs from other teams should start ahead of the rookies. Neither rookie QB was protected by the guy that drafted them.

Arizona hasn't replaced Chandler Jones. I think that could be a possible trade partner.
