  1. I'm not sure what that 131.9 figure means going forward. As I previously posted we have to figure that Williams is gone from the OL and since Spencer just got demoted and signed a 2 year deal he may be closed to being gone also. When is the last time we've seen Toeina? There are some veterans on this team that may be on the open market per Phil Emery after this season because this team needs to start trying to restock the depth with quality young talent.
  2. While others are declaring themselves the best CB in the league, he is taking this all in stride and playing with a chip on his shoulder simular to Carolina's Steve Smith and Jax's MJD, who I hope gets clobbered this week. Jennings has risen to the occassion that was presented before him. That benching last season has lit a fire in him.
  3. Jason I'm right there with you on Barrett Jones and both the Texas A&M prospects. I do believe that Jones is playing inside this year. One thing that hasn't received much mention is how Lance Louis and Gabe Carimi are playing on the right side because of the focus on the left side. Iactually think Lois is playing decent so far.
  4. With all of the debate on this board about Ja Marcus Webb's talent or lack thereof, Iam really puzzled why Chris Williams has been basically shown the door and not really given a solid chance to actually compete for the position he was drafted for and all signs point to Tice. With Chilo Rachal being given a shot at LG it is obvious that Williams has done something that has basically relegated him to playing his last games with the Bears. With his depature that will leave only 1 JA 1st rounder on the roster. Though that may be an indictment of the previous regime development of talent falls on the HC and staff. When there was some awkward comments in a press conference by Lovie describing Rachal as a tough guy started me to thinking about the guy who is lined up next to him,who allowed his QB to punk him on national TV is totally opposite of a tough guy with his constant focus on social media and posting poetry graduated from the Michael Haynes School of Toughness The adding of Jonathan Scott and moving Chris Spencer to the LG position has me believing that Williams has pissed someone off in the Halas Hall bunker. It still mystifies me how the Bears have handle the upgrading of talent on the OL since 2003. Even with a 3 and 1 record I have been scouring the college football games and my favorite draft site (nfldraftscout.com) for players that I think will add youth and depth to this team. In terms of priority I have targeted these positions as priorities that the Bears need to address to sustain a solid competitive team annually. 1.OL If you are showing Williams the door then Ja Marcus Webb should be on notice also. His inconsistency still points to his dedication to his craft and the fact that he hasn't completely bridge the lack o competition gap coming from West Texas A&M. 2.LB I love Briggs and Urlacher but It really looks like they are all in this year and if it doesn't happen then what. I personally would like the Bears to draft a stud LB first to learn from these 2 guys and then take over when one or the other leaves.( My Choice is Mantei' Teo ND SP?) 3. CB like above bring a prospect in before the 6 or 7th round to learn under the tutelage of Peanut. I'm sure this may be viewed as a pessimistic attitude but "all that glitters ain't gold". nI still believe they rolled the dice on the OL.

    SHae McClellin

Shea IMO has looked decent and my only criticisim of him is that he uses his spin move entirely too much. If I as a fan see that by watching TV an opposing OT knows this even better. He is a work in progress but his biggest contribution to the team is he has lit a fire under Wooten.
  6. Let me ask you a question. When the Bears had Urlacher,Briggs and Roach forming an 8 man front who was at a disadvantage in the Cowboy game? Once they shut down the run ,Murray rushed for 24 yards on the night, the Bears were getting to the QB with 4 guys. The Cowboys were not in max protect a lot but, the Bears routinely beat a 5 man line with a 4 man rush. The Cowboys were trying to confused the Bears blocking scheme by sending a late bllitze and the Bears picked theat up pretty well. BTW When the Bears were blowing up some of those running play did it look like they were at a diaadvantage or did it look like they had studied the film and recognized the Cowboys' tendancies in regards to down and distance?

    Tim Jennings

While I agree that Jennings has played outstanding so far. The MVP of the defense is Melton. Those picks, tipped balls etc. have been a result of the pressure that the D-line has generated and Melton has showed signs of being the DT that this scheme needs to succeed. Its still early like last season but Melton also is playing at a pro bowl level and I think he needs to be acknowledged also. If my poor stats memory serves me right he led DTs in sack last year and he is on a pretty good pace this season.
  8. Compared to the 3 previous games, starting off the game without a sack or TO was great. You can't do play action without establishing the run and if I'm not mistaken this was only the second time they won the coin toss. Putting the defense on the field first was a tone setter for the game and I believe the experience on that side of the ball helps this team settle down. Cutler at the beginning of games has been IMO to jacked up and very inaccurate to start that is why I think Tice should call more of a controlled passing game to start the game. Also it helps that Cutler's real security blamket(Forte) was back on the field.I think the slow starts have been strictly on Cutler. On some of those sacks he has been holding the ball a little too long. The fumble he had after the Bears got a turnover was on him because Webb(Who IMO sucks) did what OTs are taught and that is ride the DE past the QB so he can step up in the pocket and when Ware hit Cutler it was because he still had the ball after he finally shedded Webb's block. This was by far the O-lines best game protection-wise.
  9. "The Bears get back their starting running back Devin Hester." He had only 7 days to study this matchup.
  10. Ja Marcus Webb is the 2012 version of Bernard "False Start" Robertson. He is absolutley not a NFL LOT.
  11. As a fan that idealizes Gayle Sayers, I hate to hear him interviewed because he comes off as being a bitter individual, Sapp tends to act like he never has made a mistake when he was on the field. Remember his exchange with former packer coach Mike Sherman when he told him to put on some pads when Sapp on an interception put a packer o-linemen on his ass, that basically caused Sherman to meet him in the middle of the field at the end of the game and call him out.I also hate to hear former players critique the game now as if they studied every team top to bottom while they played. Some of the guys that are on the NFL Network like Sharper(who while he was playing would mug for the cameras like Moose did when he was here)tend to rub me the wrong way. Michael Irvin, Sapp, Marshall Faulk,Kurt Warner and a few others who I really don't want to take the time to name act like they are experts at their position when most of those who post here, who have either watched or played football know that to reach the league is a blessing and luck. Obviously it doesn't take intellect since quite a few of these guys who have played have financial sob stories that make us all realize that maybe they shouldn't have fallen asleep in some of the classes they signed up for in college.
  12. Hippy Dippy Weatherman RIP. So Mad L what are you telling me? If my new found life's work is to see somone from family in a skybox before my dirt nap no matter what sport, how does this hilarious video help me? Unless you want me to tell my grandson that baseball is a soft sport. Well I can't do that because then I would be saying Grandpa( a former baseball and 16 inch softball player) is soft. LOL
  13. This is an end run( old school play) but if you have a digital TV and an antenna you can scan for channels and then see if it picks up UPN. Sometimes it takes a few scans to get this channel.I didn't have cable last year and I didn't miss a game. By me being in Du Page County I might have a better shot at certain channels in Chicago than you do but, if all else fail go to the Trib web site and punch in A&E then television and when you see the box on th lower right for TV listings it will say complete tV listings. This is after you have given them your zipcode at the begining of this process.
  14. Two packer fans and one Bear fan are sitting in a tree. What do you call the Bears' fan. Branch manager.
  15. Why is there no ice cubes in Green Bay? They forgot the recipe.
  16. Thanks Jason you know over the years we have clashed but your posts about the O-line has won me over because you are not posting out of spite but, more out of observation and love for the Bears. You throw in some personal testimony about viewing the Bears in hostile territory(Oakland), and my respect for your opinion grows. I asked you in a previous post about how you are able to view the O-line in such a critical manner because the TV feeds I get you might see a replay of a linemen screwing up but seeing how they fire out and their technique happens so quickly I can't see just how they perform.
  17. Can you get channel 50? If so that is where you can view the game.
  18. In the past we have done this during packer week. Give me your best packer jokes. Why is there food at a packer fan wedding? To keep the flies off the bride!
  19. Last year I bought lemonej3 and lemonej2 whose birthday is 9-27 matching Forte jerseys. I'm thinking matching Marshall jerseys since lemon 2 played wr and stands 6-2, but the jerk grand pa in me says get them opposing cubs and sox jerseys since lemon 2 is a staunch cub fan and lemon 3 is only 3 years old and doesn't reall know the whole deal. I personally root for both teams because I think 2 chances at a World Series is better than 1. So the question is do I repay lemon 2 for some of his situations he put me through by buying lemon 3 a White Sox jersey or do I go with choice one and get them both Marshall jerseys. Your input is welcomed and please make me laugh with yoiur responses by being creative. .
  20. Am I crazy or should they just switch Garza and Spencer. I know that may sound simple but early in the game after that low snap this thought came to my mind.
  21. Locally if you don't have cable the NFL Network feed will be on UPN channel 50. Thats channel 8 on comcast if you don't have the extended digital package that allows you the NFL Network.
  22. Thank you! I listened to the whole press conference which got silly at the end and his response of " Good Luck" was an answer to a reporter question about the packers playing press coverage against the Bears current crop of WRs. When I saw that that 2 word except was used on NFL Network as trash talk to hype the game I knew that was BS.

    Robbie Gould

I have watched quite a few kickers in my time watching Bears football and since early Butthead (Kevin Butler)this is probably the best kicker in Bears history IMO.The tandem of he and Podlesh are second only to Janikowski and Lechler in Oakland. When It comes to fantasy points Gould is a good consistent point scorer and in leagues where special teams and defense are combined he along with Hester make the Bears D a solid choice.
  24. After what Khalil Bell did late last season against the packers,I look for Forte to confirm that his contract extension was a good investment with 120 yards rushing and 50 yards recieving.
  25. I agree and the thing that really is puzzling to me is that everyone seems to be on the defense when they gave up only 14 points and the pick 6 was the other score. The Colts didn't run for 100 yards and aside from Reggie Wayne who did nothing while Tillman was in the game, the Bears took control of this game from the 3rd series on. On defense with 3 sacks and one negated by penalty,if we average the 3 out for the season that is 48. Nowadays thats considered a great season.I remember the 72 sack season in 84 which is still the NFL record and considering how teams are getting the ball out faster # sacks is a decent game in terms of pressure. There were times when Luck was over throwing a wide open WR. Why? He felt pressure whether it was visible on the TV screen or not.The ohter thing that was evident was that we brought only 4 guys most of the game. With the TEs being a non-factor in this game and the defense doing minimal blitzing while playing a lot of man coverage. I like our chances Thurs. Nite against the packers and thier porous run D.
