  1. Regardless of what we feel about the 3 picks there is one intangible to add to this mix and that is the Marshal trade. 1st Rd DE/OLB Not necessarily a scheme fit but this kid may force the Bears to diversify their scheme more. 2nd Rd WR Emery seems to like big physical WRs and gets himself one here and gives Cutler another weapon for his 29th B-day. 3rd Rd WR/SS Jay gets an engagement gift and Lovie gets his annual safety. The trade has to be included in this round of the draft since this was the result of the first 3rd rd pick via Carolina for Greg Olsen. BTW unless Idonije is going back to DT(I wouldn't be surprised by that) McClellin is not a 4 down player.
  2. I meant that in a joking manner. Remember I wanted Reiff in round 1 and only like the Jeffrey pick.
  3. Did those same fans tell you his starting QB was dismissed from the team in November? The kid that took over was an option style qb. The previous year he and Garcia had a good connection going and it amounted in some very impressive stats.
  4. I had no idea that Allen is listed at 6-6 because the way he plays looks as though he is always able to get under his opposing OT and use leverage so if he is truly 6-6 I'm a little more impressed about him. In reality I hate him because he seems like a modern day version of Mark Gastineau celebrating every sack with his rodeo style antics.
  5. Come on Jason where's your faith we have 2 starters from the 7th round, there has to be a former running back who grew into a left tackle at college who should be a good value at 220
  6. The only positive way to look at this pick is to say the Bears have had the best 3rd rd in this draft when you add that Marshall is also the result of one of our 3rd round picks.
  7. I was hoping they would take Massie and don't understand this pick at all. I'm just wondering if what you , a few others and myself have been saying Williams is going back to LT.
  8. The annual Lovie safety pick and I like how the higlights they showed on NFL Network were all from special teams plays.
  9. This comment is why I'm just a fan!.
  10. I'm not on board with this but when he puts the uniform on I will scream like hell for him.
  11. Jones ,Reiff or Mercilus.Who will it be?
  12. I'm nervous about him because SD lost Mc Neil.
  13. We have just about every DE option available as well as Reiff.
  14. The real question should be Jones versus Perry who was coached by Monte Kiffin and is a Cover 2 coach. Jones Is Projected to be a scheme fit if he puts on the weight and gets coached up by Marinelli. The other consensus pick is Mercilus who falls into the Jason Pierre-Paul category as a one year wonder with only 16 career tackles before last season and then he leads the nation in sacks. JPP turned out well but some of the USC DEs have not translated well in the NFL even if they were coached by Pete Carroll. Remember how much buzz was out there for Kenechi Udeze who on the field never real played to his hype and wound up leaving the league because of a serious illness. The biggest knock on Jones is durabilty when he missed the first 5 games of the season due to a knee injury suffered in the opening game. I too am skeptical of the fast risers but when Mayock who during the college season is the color analyst on Notre Dame games tells me he is dialed in year round and has enough contacts that would justify his opinion.
  15. Thats why he is a former personnel guy.
  16. I have taken wait and see approach to Emery's moves all along and will wait to se how the players produce on the field before I pass judgement.
  17. I'd be okay with that draft but could see it going this way: Rd 1 @ 19 R. Rieff OT Iowa Rd 2 @ 50 V. Curry DE Marshall Rd 3 @79 AJ Jenkins WR Illinois Rd 4 @ 111 Kheeston Randall DT Texas Rd 5 @ 150 Tank Carder LB TCU Rd 6 @ 184 Coryell Judie CB Texas A & M Rd 7 @ 220 Kelcie Mc Cray SS Arkansas State
  18. That is why it has been so intriguing this year because of the variety of opinions both locally and nationally of what the Bears will do. Nobody knows because of no history with this GM. His offseason moves have made his intentions even more cloudy because of the depth he has added at some key positions.
  19. The report I heard was neck not back but spin surgery is spin surgery whether its up high or low.The release says they think he is an injury risk.
  20. To be honest Olin Kreutz had anger management issues coming into the league and aside from the Fred Miller incident and a few dumb personal foul penalties, seemed to control his temper for most of his career.
  21. I just was there and had no problems and also belive they update the site pretty regularly in comparison to breaking news on the NFL Network. For example Mike Mayock's one and only mock draft is on the site already in advance of the show he is doing tonight on the network.
  22. Mike Mayock, who's analysis I respect when it comes to the draft because he seems to be extremely thorough when he explains why he likes prospects, has the Bears selecting Chandler Jones at 19. Mike Mulligan who has shown over the years that he can have some insight into Bears picks was the lone panelist from the Score round table discussion of the Bears draft plans that also picked Jones.Pompeii,Biggs, Zaidman and Matt Bowen all believe that Mercilus will be and should be the pick.
  23. I have noticed in the past that a lot of guys the Bears have drafted under Lovie have been personally visited and worked out by Lovie or his staff. So if we could find out the guys he and his position coaches have personally gone to visit(think Texas) and we may have a shot at guessing who may be coming here on draft day.
  24. I'm glad that the Bears are being stupid in this regard because I'm so tired of the Bears picking up guys in twilight of their careers and hoping they can recapture their production of their youth. It didn't happen with Roy Williams and Moose and it didn't happen when they traded for Ron Shanklin back in the day. Remember Howard Mudd,Mike Phipps,Leroy Caffey,Craig Baynham,Golden Richards,Cyde Simmons,Craig Cotton,Rick Mirer, Rueben Brown,Orlando Pace and Tom Carter to name a few since I have been watching Bears football? The one thing that you could say about TO for sure that was attractive is his durabilty. Now with 2 significant injuries recently that can no longer be said and points to declining skills IMO.
